Dawn of Kura
The storm has passed. The thunder fades and the waters calm. Smoke still lingering in the air as the moonlight dances on the nearly still water, as if unaware of the tragedy that just concluded.
An auri child floating on debris, wearing nothing now but wet tattered rags. Dark blue scales shine ever so slightly in the moonlight. Her dark pink hair slowly freezing. The child’s tail is wrapped around her body in an attempt to comfort herself. None of her memories tell the story of how she ended up here.
She gently watches the breath from her chapped lips escape into the air around her. Her breathing proceeds to shallow as she endures the salt stinging the open wounds scattered on her body. Half drowned and rapidly losing energy, she lays there, lost and confused. With no hope, the child closes her eyes and accepts her cruel fate at the bottom of the sea.
