Aro Ace Kirishima:
1 | 2
Kirishima tentatively labeled himself as pansexual in middle school when his friends had started questioning their sexualities because he didnt really see the difference in boys or girls or people in between, there were attractive people of every gender
What threw him off was when his friends started describing how they felt around their crushes
He had never felt like that around people; the most he felt was a burning in his chest that felt like it tugged him towards people, only he didnt want to kiss them or go on a date with them, he just wanted to be their friend and give them hugs and comfort them and be comforted in return
That didnt seem like what his friends were describing, but he just passed it off as he felt his feelings differently than they felt theirs
Once he got to UA and became friends with Bakugou, he was convinced that he had a crush on the other boy
It just made sense. They were friends. Bakugou was attractive and super manly. Who wouldn't have a crush on him?
Then Bakugou came out to the class as aroace, and Kirishima was confused
He had no idea what that was, so he asked Bakugou, in private, to explain it to him
Thankfully, since Bakugou already trusted Kirishima, he explained what asexuality and aromanticism was and how he personally experienced it
Kirishima spent months thinking about it and reading different things from people who were also aro and/or ace
When he finally figured out that he was also aroace, Bakugou was the first person he came out to

aro culture is being upset because you can never find platonic fanfics of your favorite characters.

Aro fanfic writer culture is having this really awesome idea in your head about how these two people who are really co-dependent and BFF'S and knowing that people are going to take that as romantic and just thinking that it's too much work to write it in anything other than an outline, let alone post it.

Note
Nonbinary aromantic culture is having specific labels but using more broad/well known ones around cishet people so you don't have to explain your labels everytime, but then still having to answer a bunch of questions about them. Like, I'm glad they're learning!! But also please can I just tell you I am nonbinary and aromantic without having to answer a bazillion questions,,,

I was making a post about “I wish there were squishes in media” but I deleted it because I realized actually there are; fandom just forcibly interprets them as crushes 100.00% of the time
anyway I wish there were more squishes in media that fandom didn’t erase

To all the aros who don't quite fit with aro community stereotypes:
It's okay if you don't like frogs or plants or the colour green. It's okay if you don't relate to random aro-culture things. You're still aro, and I appreciate you.

Oh. OH!!! That’s it!! That’s what I’ve needed!!!
The whole ‘aces can have sex they just don’t experience sexual attraction’ thing can apply to Aromanticism too!
I can want to date someone even if I don’t feel romantically attracted to anyone.
Holey shit, I can’t believe it took me that long to get it. Omg I feel great now.
Ok. Ok, yeah. I’m AroAce. I’m fucking AroAce!!! Ahhhhh!!! Fuck yeah!!
Fuck I feel amazing. This feels right. I feel good.
Sorry, self discovery is a bit messy and chaotic sometimes lol

cw // rant , mention of aphobia
it's really annoying when ignorant people are like "aromantics / aro/aces don't experience love!" like
you know there's other fucking forms of love right? other than romantic or sexual? like you love your fucking family right?
that's. love.
love doesn't have to be romantic or sexual to be valid. as if there aren't multiple forms of love.

Me lol
Aroace culture is not liking the stereotypes of aroace people being innocent/oblivious, but at the same time being PAINFULLY oblivious.
