Today was the funeral of Ukrainian journalist Viktoriia Roshchyna who was writing about russian invasion of Ukraine and reporting on the ground in russian-occupied territories. In the summer of 2023 she traveled to the occupied territory and was captured by russians. For more than a year, she was shuffled between at least two informal detention centers and russian prison, before the announcement of her death in captivity in October 2024. Her body was returned in February with many marks of torture, missing organs, abrasions and haemorrhages on various parts of the body, a broken rib, neck injuries, and possible electric shock marks.

💔 67-year-old Hanna Plikhchynska walks among ruins and ravines with a metal detector. She is one of the few who live in the village of Stepova Dolyna in the south of Ukraine. The settlement was almost completely destroyed during the battles for Kherson. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Mrs. Hanna and the cow Lana evacuated to Cherkasy. Back home, a woman uses a metal detector to check her fields for mines to survive on her own and save her farm
