Wednesday 6th January
Today we then performed the still images which i felt went very well. For part of the rehearsal today i had to research about half hour call time for an actor which i felt was very useful due to the fact it made me realise how important the call time for an actor can be.

Tuesday 5th January
Today we all went back into our small groups and developed our performances even more. We performed them for a second time whilst being filmed. Once we finished this, we then made 3 still images on three scenario which could be linked to the text. This part of the day was very successful because it was so creative and made very good work.

Monday 4th of January
Today we started our second term on the level 2 course with our new director Scott. We started with doing games which just got our concentration levels up. We then got into groups and analysed and piece of text and also started to create a small 2 minute scene. We then showed the other groups the scenes we had created so we could all feedback so that we can all go away and develop the scenes.

Daily account
In rehearsals i started to understand my character in a lot more depth where i was getting more into role. After the rehearsal i started to understand my character is a very firm but scared person who just wants to find out things properly and wants people to be straight up with him as he is straight up with everyone else. Ive learnt that the script is about more than just a boy going missing. Its a story with so much meaning where it shows how normal kids in normal schools living normal lives can do stuff that is seen as bad!

Overall evaluation
In my opinion I felt that the project was successful because it brought our company a lot closer together and also has shown to each over and also ourselves that we are capable of creating and performing art to an audience in such a small space of time which is a huge credit to all of us. Before the process was obviously our ways of seeing projects where we were used to mixing in with level 3’s as well and I felt as though when we finally formed our level 2 company I think we all had doubts about what we could actually create because of the different types of characters within our group and quite a few of us had negative energy at the start. I know this because I was one that’s why I think the show was a great success because it’s made a lot of us realize what great things we can do with a bit of effort.
The projects most successful moment was when we as a company had a full run through before the show and everyone seemed to be very happy with what we had created. I think it was at the moment that we all started to believe in each over that we can create good pieces together and the room just had a great positive energy between us. When we completed the run through I looked at everyone’s faces and every single person within our group was buzzing smiling and could not wait for the performance and it was honestly great to see because where a few people in the company had really bad nerves or struggled to read script, it was a sense of achievement for everyone and it was really nice to see.
The unsuccessful part of our process I feel was definitely nearer the start where everyone was doing our workshops really half-hearted and it showed because we was getting very little done in large amounts of time. If I could go back and make any changes to the process I feel as though I would have gave everyone the script a little bit earlier so that we could all familiarize ourselves with it sooner so that we could have rehearsals without our heads planted to our scripts. I think the process would have run a lot smoother than it did if we had learnt our scripts earlier because we would have felt more comfortable with our lines.
As a company I think we all gained A LOT of respect for each over and also gained a load of trust too. As an individual I think I gained the skill to take everything 100% so that I can achieve great things because when you put full effort into something you have a lot more chance of becoming stronger in yourself and bettering yourself in everything because there is always so much room to improve.
The audience had a great response to our show! Both audiences in show one and two loved every second and we had great reactions from laughs at funny moments to their full focus in the serious and heart filled scenes. They were great and was a great help because it strengthened our performance to a great potential.

show 1 I felt that our first show was very successful! It had very few mistakes and had a great flow to it. There were definitely improvements to be made but overall was a very successful show. The audience seemed to be very impressed with our performance, the reason i thought this was because we had great feedback and also had a great round of applause at the end. My individual performance i think went really well. I feel as though i had got the characterisation really well which came across to the audience. My strengths were my projection of voice and my staging. My weakness was my knowledge of the play. I would need to research a lot more about the play. I feel as though we achieved Dennis Kelly’s intentions but we definitely could have made a bigger climax of it all. The audience were very silent and were very focused on Adam. Show 2 I felt as though the second show weren’t as good as the first performance! It weren’t as successful as the first because there were more mistakes and more nerves between our company. The audience seemed to thoroughly enjoy our performance there reaction was great! My performance weren't as good as i made a lot more mistakes. Again i think if i research more on the play it would improve my performance. I feel we still managed to achieve the intentions of dennis Kelly!

What characters i want to play
I would like to play Richard because he seems like a great role to play because he has a hidden character behind his normal character. I feel with that character it is easy to create my own persona with him. I would also like to play Phil because he is a very controlling and intimidating person and from past experience i know that i could play this character well.

DNA
What i know ? From what i have seen from the text so far i get a feeling that there is a group of friends that are in their teens. They all have their differences and also have certain people who are at higher status’s compared to others. John Tate and Phil seem to be the two people within the group who are in control a lot of the time. Their is a boy in the group called Adam who they all thought to believe that was dead because they had killed him accidentally. They gave the police a fake description of a man they made up to cover their tracks of the murder but because of Richard and Cathy who took DNA from a Fat postman who had bad teeth the police had arrested an innocent man.
What i Think? I think that the character Brian is one that is easily influenced by his 'friends' because he needs them to think he is popular within himself. I think that phil would have had a bad upbringing so that is why he is horrible to his group of friends.
what i want to know? I would like to know : • A lot more about Adams up bringing •Why John Tate is top boy • Whats the different relationships within the group

My Destiny Monologue
I was at the age of 7 and my mum and dad were going through a really rough patch. Every day was constant arguing and shouting. Until one day they had finally split up! I was devastated but at least the shouting would stop!
A year had gone by and my mate Harry had told me to go to a football team he had been at. I loved football so i ran home straight after school and told my mum. At first she kept saying no but i begged and begged and begged until finally she told me i could go!.
After a few weeks of going i started to notice my mum speaking to the coach alot more. His name was Terry Hawkey and now my mum is happily married to him. I feel that my destiny was to lead my mum to her love.

The Permanent Way
The permanent way by David Hair is a play written to get across the issues today with privatization and was also named ‘ the most significant and revealing play ‘ by the Daily Telegraph. I couldn’t find themes and issues connected with the play over the internet but I took a sense of anger that the train hadn’t been fixed over 8 months which led 100 people to die! I took that as the issue and the theme I took off the play was about people coming to a congregation. David Hairs intentions were to create awareness about the struggle and poor management on the train services. I feel like the play is very strong and meaningful and can really touch people in places. I don’t feel as though David got his intentions across as much as he could have because he could have gone into a lot more depth.

October 5th - 9th
This weeks ways of seeing was one where we really started to develop and strengthen our movement pieces. I felt that the company has bonded fully now and we have all created great relationships which has resulted in our performance looking very strong. It is really starting to show within our work how much everyone has gained respect for each over which made our piece so strong. During one of our rehearsals with Den we went into an exercise which involved us laying down flat on our backs and creating 4 movements which we personally felt represented us. During the exercise i had many different emotions whilst going through the movements because each one held a different feeling behind it. One of my favorites was where I sat up slowly and hugged myself tight because through life I had to deal with many situations on my own and sometimes forced to comfort myself. When performing this i started to feel very emotional where it brought back many uncomfortable memories. A benefit to feeling this way was i could show this emotion through the whole performance and make the theme of the poem clearer. We dispersed into groups of 4 and worked on the moves together so that we could discover how to synchronize them effectively. We then went back into the full company and incorporated some of the moves created into our final performance. When synchronizing as a whole company the feeling was amazing! Everyone within the company had 100% focus which made the moves very effective. Once this was complete we then in pairs created an entrance which would set the emotion. Whilst going through the entrance it was key to stay focused and in the correct mood because if someone was to just mark the performance then it would wreck the emotion placed within the moves.  With the focus in the room at a good standard we then merged the three stages together to see if it will work. When we made our performance very strong we kept running through it. We started to have such a strong piece which will show in the showcase.
Strengths of the performance were the focus from the company and also the emotion created through the way we moved.
A weakness I felt hindered the performance at times was the timing. If the timing improves then the performance will be very strong.
