Have you ever experienced a natural disaster?

The area I grew up in experienced a lot of floods due to climate change but everyone's houses in the locality were safe, it was just the roads which were too difficult to traverse. I've been locked inside school with others due to hurricane force winds making landfall and nobody believed it would actually be as strong as it was. Our area also experienced drought a couple times some years ago. Recently, I was (at home) in a massive lightning storm - not exactly a natural disaster but the bolts were very close by and everyone in the province seemed to experience a massive bolt of lightning too close for comfort by their homes around the same time at night, so whether that was different bolts striking at different intervals during this short period and the activity was far more intense than we saw/heard, or if one massive bolt struck and forked out over the province somehow, I don't know. It was very strange when everyone said the same thing happened to them at the same time but some of these people lived almost a quarter of the country away from us. Eerie.

How has life been treating you? And are you in a good position to handle whatever it throws at you?

Life has been an absolute roller-coaster lately for me, but I am trying my best to deal with it. There are certainly new things I have to learn and I'm trying to but it's all very much not something I'm used to. Time will pass either way, and I am embracing it all more than I am resisting it at the moment.
