I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Posy, I love and adore how she works, but the things is, she's a Labrador mediocre food drive but a VERY HIGH play drive. If you offer her a high reward or her flirt pole she will take her flirt pole first save food for later, play is way more important to her. There was actually a point in her life where she wouldn't eat unless she worked for it first, so I would do some training tricks with her and feed her by hand before she'd eat the rest of the bowl. She also prefers her food in puzzle toys because it's food + PLAY which she loves and adores

I think I figured it out............ The Smoke alarm is in the hallway and it occasionally goes off when I'm making a fire and it scares her, it comes from the hallway so the hallway is screaming I guess
Posy has random bouts of fear where she is HORRIFIED of the hallway, It's happened since she was young, she'll get over it pretty quickly, but she sometimes acts like she can see a demon standing there or something she's so horrified? She gets over it when we encourage her to run through a few times, but she'll just randomly decide that the hallway is evil randomly. I figured it was her fear periods before but she's 3+ and will still randomly fear the hall???

a lot of you probably knows Belphie's story, but I'll summarize just in case.
Devon Rex cats are better for people with allergies (less shed fur + less Fel d1 protein in their saliva), so on February 16, 2024, I went the breeder route and put down a deposit! before Belphie even opened his eyes, he was mine.

every Friday, the breeder sent me a new photo. I had a broken leg, and was basically rotting in bed at that point, so it was the best part of my week. then, at 12 weeks old, I BROUGHT HIM HOME!
at first, he was so alive. like a wind-up monkey that never shut off. he dangled from the wall-hangings, savaged my feet as I walked, and used my elderly cats as jumping poles to do cool acrobatics over. but this all gradually faded.
first, he stopped playing. then he stopped climbing. then he stopped moving much at all. my vet ran tests on him and found multiple pathogens (calcivrius + mycoplasma), but the medication didn't help - he kept declining.
on September 17th, I woke up to find him swollen like a balloon. we finally had an answer: he had Feline infectious Peritonitis, aka FIP. before 2017, this would've been a death sentence. he would've kept bloating until he drowned in his own fluids. and before 2024, I would've been forced to inject him with black market drugs. but thankfully, South Tower Animal Hospital in Fergus, Ontario was doing a study on the oral medication! we drove two hours, enrolled him, and left with the GS-441524 pills.

and he went from those photos above.....to this:
I thought Belphie would die as a kitten. I'd accepted that he would never grow up. but now he gets to LIVE!
and all for the low cost of $7,553.....ahhhahaha........god.

that + a recent home disaster has wiped out my savings, but I still need to pay for Belphie's medication. to remain in this study, I need to do bloodwork monthly until Feb 2025, and he'll need daily pills until March 2025.
I've put a risograph print + enamel pin set at greerstothers.shop. I hate asking for help, but if you'd like to support Belphie's continued treatment, please consider checking them out!

Oh my god I need to take Duma to the farm more
I forgot how much my grandpa loved Duma, he liked all her photos on a post this morning and it reminded me of the time he wanted to walk her himself, and my grandma had me go with him, and he just started running with her along the beach and he was smiling and he was sooooo genuinely happy, the thought is making me cry, the years have been so so so rough and that was such a peaceful and happy moment. Now Duma is gray and my Grandpa has been given less than 5 years to live because of cancer and he can no longer do the things he was able. I am so glad Duma was able to bring him joy, she's such a wonderful dog.

Sometimes I forget Duma can't see very well these days and just cannot catch for crap while Sadie and Posy are super good at it, so I toss them something and then Duma just... gets slapped in the head with the food, then usually one of the other dogs steal it and I have to personally shovel a bunch of food into her mouth directly
