Peter chuckled as his cheeks flushed again at MJ's compliment (and continued teasing). He wasn't really used to his looks being commented on or complimented, really. Mostly that was down to the fact that he'd spent a lot of time in a full face mask, but even back in school he'd very much just felt like another face in the crowd. Kept to himself, been mostly invisible behind his camera.

"I love you," he said, drawing her into his arms and pressing another kiss to her cheek. "And I love who I am when I'm with you- if I don't tell you that enough." Two truer statements couldn't possibly have been said right next to each other in his mind. She'd not only managed to pull him- very unwillingly- out of the dark place that he'd been, but also helped him to be more comfortable and at peace with being himself... mistakes and all. The idea that this was some sort of multiversal fate did still give him pause once in a while but if the threads of all the universes were bent on drawing someone this wonderful into his life?

Well, he'd take his wins where he could get them. He had so few in his life.

"And I suppose it doesn't hurt that you're pretty smokin' hot yourself." A teasing grin on his face. Of course she was beautiful- there was a reason why that when he pulled out his camera these days, most of the pictures were of her. But it'd been the amazing, wonderful person that she was that'd caused him to fall for her. There was a reason why Peter Parker looked at MJ Watson like she was all of the stars in the sky: Because to him, she was.

MJ beamed as his lips brushed her skin, pride radiating from her every pore. To be his fiancée, obviously, but also at how much he'd grown since they got together. It wasn't that long ago that Peter would've been unwilling (if not wholly unable) to free himself from the darker voices whispering in his mind, would've buckled at the reminders of things he wasn't proud of. But here he was, standing tall and proud, smiling despite the obvious notes of regret and reflection in his voice.

God, she was so proud of him sometimes she could burst.

"You better tell him that Spider-man t-shirts are my thing, Tiger." she huffed, feigning offense at the idea that someone else could come to his mind first when he thought about them. "Or maybe it's easier to show him; obviously it'll be no contest who wore it better."

"Oh, it's absolutely an excuse to ogle you in front of the neighborhood ladies. You're not the only one who wants to show off how well they did with their future spouse." MJ hummed, shifting her weight so her hip popped playfully to the side. "They already know that you're the smartest and sweetest guy in the neighborhood thanks to May, but it's time to show them you're also the hottest. I'll sleep better knowing they're up at night seething with jealousy that I'm the one in bed next to you."

"The first one the vast majority of the time. Like 99.9 percent of the time. I mean I've picked some stuff up over the last ten or so years but 's what helps me dodge punches and bullets and stuff- and get an idea that someone who doesn't mean well might be hiding around a corner or in the shadows," he explained. No hearing individual heartbeats for Spider-Man, but it worked for him.

"The second one..." Peter hesitated, pulling his feet up so he was sitting cross-legged on the edge of the building. "I mean like I said, even after all this time it's not quite something I've been able to understand but... sometimes, yeah. Like when Electro attacked Times Square," he continued, picking perhaps a more publicly known moment... despite the personal memories that came with it. "I could tell that something was gonna go down from a few blocks away at the High Line. I dunno what it was or why but- but I knew I needed to be over there before he even really attacked anyone. I dunno."

"Yeah there's no need for that. I can get by just fine like this." Matt speaks before taking a bite of the hotdog, leaning against the edge of the roof. As the other mentions that his senses probably didn't get dialed up as much as Matt's own had - he swallows the bite and smirks. "My hearing range is over forty blocks." So... yeah not exactly similar.

"A sense of danger.. like immediate threats or more ominous like... a feeling something awful is about to happen?" That sounded like it would just cause anxiety and not be very useful at all..

"I mean if I can get used to jumping off skyscrapers and swinging through the city at high speeds I'll... probably be able to get used to how disorienting interdimensional travel is but it's probably gonna take me a while. If I keep doing it."

Clowns. He will not be elaborating at this time. Apart from saying he found a movie at Ben and May's apartment when he was very young (before they became his guardians) and should not have watched it.

TASM

Hmmm see this is a tricky one because for a long time he hardly talked about anything to anyone- let alone his overwhelming fear of losing people to the point where he actively isolated himself. I think, though, one thing he'd struggle to talk about is his fear that he's going to do something on accident that pushes someone away that he does want to be around. Especially with @inthesp0tlight he fears stepping over some sort of line while he's trying to keep her safe and/or when his own anxieties and other fears drive him more than he'd like them to.

Insomniac

He's developed a touch of claustrophobia after everything with the symbiote. That's mostly down to the time(s) the symbiote tried to take him over again since he was awake for that (versus being.... well.... kinda dead the first time) and seeing it happen to MJ and other people, too. Dark, enclosed spaces are a no-go for him these days.

USM (2024)

He's got several really obvious and real fears surrounding his family and what people know about him and he's generally pretty open about that with MJ. His more secret fear and worry is a bit more... existential? It's a lot to find out that you were supposed to get superpowers back in high school and then only gain them in your 30s and not only that but the world was meant to be so different besides that. Though he didn't follow as scientific a path as other Peters, the multiverse and alternate timelines is a concept he turns over in his head a lot and it does worry him... because what if one day he found himself in a world where he didn't have MJ or Richard or May?

"It made finding a name pretty easy- and gave me somewhere to start when I designed my suit," Peter shrugged with a small smile. He had considered a few other options, but Spider-Man had been the best of them. And the suit he'd cobbled together from some old and thrifted clothes weren't what he'd initially wanted, but he'd figured it would work until he could find a way to borrow May's sewing machine. It just worked out that Tony Stark decided to show up at his apartment and gift him a new one.

"Huh." Also not what he'd expected on his side of things. "Between you, me, and Dr. Banner you'd think people would learn to be more careful with experimental tech. I mean I know that's how Captain Rogers and a few others got their powers but at least that was on purpose."

It'd been an interesting time to grow up and almost a dream come true when he'd gotten his own powers. Sure, he knew that Carol and Captain America and some others had gotten their powers way beforehand, but everything had become unquestionably public during the Battle of New York. He'd been 10, nearly 11, and with dreams of inventing tech like Mr. Stark. He wondered what that kid would think of him now...

She hadn’t expected Parker’s abilities to come from an actual spider. Though she supposed from what she knew of his capabilities, it made sense. The obvious one was he could climb walls, but he was also strong, fast... all things she could attribute to an arachnid if she thought about it.

         “You actually got bit by a spider?” She glanced at him. “Y’know, I did not see that coming. That’s pretty cool.”

         “Oh, well,” Carol laughed reluctantly. “I crashed an experimental fighter after getting into a dogfight with aliens, then I shot a top-secret engine and got caught in the blast.”

         There was more to it, but that was a pretty good explanation of what had caused everything. Parker didn’t need to know about being abducted, mind controlled, and the chaos that followed.

         She shrugged, “been a human glowstick ever since.”

It was nothing but pure instinct honed over about a decade that kept his little experiment from ending with a spectacular splat of red and blue spandex on the sidewalks of another New York City. ...And it was nothing but pure Parker luck that meant he'd arrived in the heart of Times Square in the middle of the day.

"Sorry- pardon me- coming through!" he yelled, coming dangerously and much closer to anyone than he usually did while webslinging around the city. Thankfully a few well-placed webs and tricky mid-air acrobatics and twists landed him safely up on top of one of the many video billboards around the popular tourist (but mostly avoided by locals if they could help it) spot. Below, a few people clapped and yelled up at him as he caught his breath- their words not super clear at this height, but he managed to catch one or two 'Spider-Man's. That was helpful at least- this universe had a Spider-Man of its own then.

"Note to self," he said, moving back so he wasn't in direct view of those below. "Figure out better landing spot mapping for destination universe. Oof. Alright, Parker- what next?"
