You guys are all aware that they trained people for those civil rights protests, right? That the people doing sit ins had to be trained to keep their cool as white people screamed invectives and pouring drinks on them? It was a very organized operation.

Boycotting as they dump your private info into the AI is exactly what they want, we need to boycott BEFORE the 13th in order to prevent the data breach, they want to look like they listened after it is too late to keep you safe
Just to clarify that the boycott is about not letting YT have your ID and photo scan. They already have all the information to feed to the AI, and I'm pretty sure even deleting my account and asking for my data to be deleted wouldn't do anything, because that takes like 30 days to take effect. The whole thing is a ploy to get users to fork over their personal identification and have that tied to their watch habits - INCREDIBLY VALUABLE INFO if you are, let's say, a company that can sell that information to whatever government wants to increase the control of their population. We've already seen the power of YouTube and TikTok to shape narratives and change people's opinions in social and political matters, enough to shift elections and organize protests. If the government knows you watch Breadtube on a weekly basis, they can use that to frame you when someone who maybe looks like you sets fire to a car during a protest. If they know you lile First-Person Shooter games, they can serve you only games where you play as the military, they can boost channels that are patriotic, they can even create channels with cute ladies talking about how they love military men, so you start associating military service with fun and love and profit and are more willing to sign up. It's information that allows for unprecedented levels of manipulation of the public.
That being said: FreeTube (https://freetubeapp.io/) and Invidious (https://invidious.io/) are both resources that let you watch YT videos without giving it views. They have been around for a while and are a measure for online privacy since way before all this crap went down. And YT-dlp (https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp) allows you to download audio and video, in case you want to create a backlog for the duration of the boycott.

It is so disturbing how every time a disabled person is brutally murdered by their caregiver, the conversation revolves around what we can do to give more support to caregivers and not the welfare of disabled people and how to give people with disabilities more agency and support in escaping abusive and neglectful situations. Don’t get me wrong, caregiving is hard but I am so tired of the “I feel so bad for the caregiver, their life was so rough and then they just snapped :(” narrative and not acknowledging that the disabled individual was uniquely vulnerable and completely at the whim of someone who despised them, felt they had no inherent worth and killed them. The rates of abuse experienced by disabled people are always conveniently left out of the narrative. So often it’s twisted into something justifiable, that you should relate to the murderer and not the victim. It is so sick.

hey so if you have secret prejudiced thoughts about an oppressed group. and you feel guilty about those thoughts. to be honest it isn’t very swagilicious when you go out of your way to turn a member of that oppressed group into your own personal confessional booth. I don’t need to know that you were secretly ableist about your wheelchair using coworker, actually. I don’t need to know that you used to hate trans people. you don’t need to make that my problem please

Im gonna be so real can yall actually talk about ways we can support trans women in the UK instead of giving all the attention to fucking JKR. I already know that Harry Poter sucks, I wanna know how to actually HELP people. Something something you have to love the oppressed more than you hate the oppressor

The thing about people using their trauma to justify being against kink / kink at Pride is like. Your being triggered by seeing people in leather harnesses or whatever is not a reason to expect that other people in public cater to your comfort. I'm sorry. Having a specific type of trauma doesn't make you immune to needing to address your own triggers and recognize that a you problem doesn't dictate public spaces. No one at a public daytime Pride parade is literally fucking in the street so what you're really talking about is attire (leather, collars, accessories) or non-explicit acts (walking someone on a leash). You being triggered is fine, and makes sense, but it doesn't give you the right or authority to ban it from a public space. "You think I shouldn't be able to be part of the Pride community because I cannot guarantee that if I go to Pride I won't see kink?" I think you need to ask yourself whose responsibility it is to address your reactions to things in public, which is always a factor you cannot control. If I hear classical music or children crying anywhere I need to leave, but I don't get to choose what music plays at a store or whether children are present or if they cry. I just remove myself when and if this happens. You're going to fucking be ok, I promise.

im honestly surprised (not really surprised considering what website this is) that i haven't seen anyone on here talk about Lil Nas X getting violently arrested after suffering some kind of mental health episode. I wish he was getting more attention and support.
