not exactly a continuation, but i did a little more elaborating on the opening development here! i’m so glad so many of us want more of KPDH !!!

okay but imagine a sequel for Kpop Demon Hunters where because Rumi has Jinu’s soul, she can feel his suffering from the underworld. because Jinu is def alive since his pets were there at the end.

So now they’re tasked with returning his soul because Rumi can’t stand to feel his suffering and seeing him in pain in her dreams. She’s able to give him his soul back because with the Honmoon, her soul is now complete on her own since her half-demon genes got tamed and she has a full human soul or some sorta mythology explanation.

With that they get Jinu back, but it’s not as simple as that, and now the demon hunters are back in business and having to fight again harder than ever. BUT THIS TIME, Jinu joins the Demon Hunters because he provides unique insider intellect that no one else can provide. Through this, we also get to see silly moments of him getting used to modern life because he’s from like way back when ancient times.

By the end, Jinu is no longer demon and goes back to being regular human once the underworld is defeated and fully cut ties from him. We get a post-credits scene of him not being fully used to not having any mythical powers, and him being like “Rumi what do you mean boil the hot water for the ramyeon with the kettle. i haven’t had to use tools to boil hot water in centuries, i usually just snapped my fingers and ah nevermind— where is the fire wood? what??? what do you mean *electric* kettle????”

also i wanted to add what i meant by “Rumi has Jinu’s soul, she can feel his suffering from the underworld.” in this post:

it would start off the sequel and have a development like this:

Rumi has been having nightmares where she catches glimpses of jinu suffering, and she’s hesitant to bring it up with the girls because how is she going to convince them that they need to save jinu. eventually Mira notices her lack of sleep and eventually is like “you can tell us anything we swear” and Rumi remembering “you’re right. we said no more secrets.” and that’s when she tells them about these dreams.

at first Zoey suggests “maybe it’s just like guilt— survivors guilt? Like… he literally gave up his soul so you could live free and he could be damned for eternity” because she’s unintentionally blunt like that.

over time Rumi starts to randomly experience actual physical pain, and one day the physical pain is being accompanied by “flashbacks” of seeing jinu’s torture from his POV.
