I'm rewatching Supernatural for the thousandth time, and I noticed that (at least up until season 7, where I am now) Dean often 'excused' Castiel's behavior by calling him a child. Obviously, he didn't mean it literally, but rather in the sense that Cas didn't know any better. Throughout the Godstiel arc, Dean called Cas a 'god damn child' and a 'freaking child' when referring to Cas taking extremely questionable actions. When Castiel tells Sam that he spent a year without a soul, Dean doesn’t even get mad; he just calls him a child.
This perspective has definitely added another layer to my view of Destiel. Dean saw Castiel as a powerful warrior of God, but also as something innocent, someone who wouldn’t intentionally do harm. As I continue rewatching, I'm curious to know when exactly Castiel transitioned from being seen as this good and innocent being in Dean’s eyes to someone who could fail and make mistakes on his own, rather than just by making a benevolent error. I'm also interested in when the later seasons shifted to portray Castiel as at fault in Dean's eyes, even in situations where he didn’t deserve it.

I need the Diaz family accepting Buck as Eddie’s boyfriend before Eddie even admits to himself that he wants Buck as his boyfriend.
I can’t get this Buddie fanfic idea out of my head, but since I know I’m never actually gonna write it, I figured I’d just share it here. Basically, it’d be the entire Diaz family going through this big, dramatic internal struggle to accept Eddie dating a guy (Buck) and blessing their relationship—all while Eddie and Buck have no idea any of this is happening. The plot could play out during Christopher’s birthday. In my idea, Eddie goes to El Paso for Chris’s birthday and brings Buck along. Because of the way they act around each other—and the fact that Eddie’s family probably has their suspicions about him not being straight (let’s be real, Latin families are very close and have a radar for this stuff)—the Diaz family assumes they’re a couple. And from there, the whole internal and external struggle begins within the family, with Eddie and Buck completely clueless.
First off, I wanna say I’m Latina, and 100% of this idea comes from my own life experiences within my culture. Obviously, Latin culture isn’t just one thing since it covers so many countries and subcultures, but there are some things that are basically universal.
Why do I think Eddie’s family would accept Buck? Because the only other person he introduced to the family was this white American woman they obviously couldn’t stand, and, ironically, Buck checks all the boxes of the “perfect wife” in the eyes of Latin moms, grandmas, and aunts and the “perfect husband” in the eyes of Latin dads, grandpas, and uncles.
Unfortunately, in our cultural context, traditional gender roles are still really strong for older generations, and even those who are more progressive tend to put these roles onto same-sex couples because they can’t quite picture a relationship without a “man” and a “woman” role.
So, I imagine Eddie’s whole family would evaluate Buck the same way they’d evaluate a girlfriend or boyfriend.
Important qualities for a good first impression as a Latina girlfriend:
Helpful: when the family gets together, it usually involves a ton of food, and that’s the women’s responsibility (I know, I know °_°). If a girl is introduced to the family and doesn’t help in the kitchen, she’s automatically seen as lazy, and if she tries to help but can’t do the basics, she’s seen as useless.
And we know Buck can cook pretty well.
Loud and talkative: I know that for Americans, people who are loud and super expressive might come off as rude, but for us, it’s normal. So if you’ve just been introduced to the family and stay too quiet, it might make a bit of a bad impression.
Buck’s expressive enough to fit right into a Latin household.
He’s involved, kind, takes amazing care of Chris, is superstitious, smart, and attractive. All he’s missing is being Catholic and female to be the dream daughter-in-law for every Latin mom.
And from the men’s perspective, he’s perfect too.
He’s got a stable, good-paying job, he’s strong, knows about repairs and construction, and he’s got that friendly, open vibe that makes it easy to bond. Plus, he’s a firefighter with loads of heroic stories. That alone would put him on a pedestal as the dream son-in-law.
I can just picture Buck spending hours setting up tents and tables, chatting with the men about firefighter stories, and then spending hours with the women, helping in the kitchen, talking to them, and listening to their stories.
By the end of the visit, after lots of private discussions, the Diaz family would welcome Buck into the family, and he wouldn’t even realize it. Since there’s still that ingrained prejudice, it’d be more like a blessing in disguise. Buck would get home exhausted, happy, and with a recipe to cleanse bad energy from his apartment (coarse salt).
When they finally do get together, it takes Eddie months to work up the courage to tell his family. But when he finally does, they’re so confused (since they thought the two had already been together for at least a year) that they end up thinking the news Eddie’s so nervous to share is actually that he proposed to Buck.

That's the episode where Dean makes it pretty clear that his perspective has shifted
Castiel: I'm sorry
Dean: No, that's not gonna cut it. Not this time.
(...)
Cas: Dean, i thought i was doing the right thing.
Dean: Yeah, you always do.
The funny thing is, in the next episode, Cas messes up again trying to do the right thing, and even then, in episode 9x01, Dean tells him that no matter what he did, he had to get to the bunker ASAP because he was in danger after losing his grace.
So basically, he keeps forgiving Cas but starts holding him accountable for his actions. Now I’ll keep watching to see when it shifts from 'responsible for his actions' to 'he just keeps messing up and causing trouble'.
I'm rewatching Supernatural for the thousandth time, and I noticed that (at least up until season 7, where I am now) Dean often 'excused' Castiel's behavior by calling him a child. Obviously, he didn't mean it literally, but rather in the sense that Cas didn't know any better. I hate the uncertainty of being chronically ill. I know everyone with a body will become sick at some point and no one plans to get sick, but it’s the frequency. Every time I have one of these weekends where my digestive tract decides to make me miserable I’m reminded that the things I do to manage these symptoms are only management. I’ll never be in control. And this isn’t like “wow I got food poisoning that SUCKED”—I have to catalogue this. I have to track and figure out exactly what made the symptoms flare up and when. What made it better what made it worse. The worst part is there’s basically no way to know. I have to try to figure it out anyway so I can try to keep it from happening again for as long as possible. I couldn’t even go to church today.
Self-pity does absolutely nothing to help and wallowing only makes the anxiety worse. But this is the second night in a row that I can’t sleep because I’m in so much pain. Idk man. It just makes me lonely. I wish I could be rid of my body.

I really wanted a dramatic arc when Cas turned human. Not that the original wasn’t dramatic, but I wanted a more "fanfiction-style" one. This powerful being, older than humanity itself, whose true form is massive and capable of blinding people, now trapped in a fragile human body.
Imagine a newly human Castiel with the Winchesters (yes, I’m ignoring the Gadreel arc), and he slowly starts to feel unwell but doesn’t tell anyone because he’s still unsure about how a human body works. He feels weaker and weaker until, finally, he tells the Winchesters, deeply disturbed, that there’s something wrong with his vessel.
“It’s not a vessel anymore, Cas,” Dean gently explains. “It’s your body now.”
Sam asks him how he’s feeling and follows up with such a basic, simple question that Castiel is filled with shame: “When was the last time you ate?”
That’s when Castiel realizes he hasn’t eaten or drunk anything for almost two days. Dean jokes about low blood sugar, and Sam carefully explains how many times he has to eat every day.
I wanted to see him lying in bed at night, eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling in the dark because Sam and Dean told him it was time to sleep—but he has no idea how. Human babies do this from their first day of life, so surely Castiel would be able to, right? He lays there for hours, in the same position: on his back, eyes open. It’s 4 a.m. when his body finally gives in to exhaustion. He feels useless and bone-tired the next day, angry at himself for failing at something even newborns can do.
His emotions changed too. It’s not that he didn’t have them before, but back then, his feelings were tied to big things like wars, rebellion, the loss of his brothers and sisters, and, of course, Dean Winchester (who was definitely right up there next to “stop the world from ending” on his list of important things). But now, he’s afraid to cross a damn street because a car could hit him, and his vessel doesn’t have the strength to protect him from something as trivial as getting hit by a car.
Imagine one day they need to do a spell, and it requires blood. Castiel volunteers and does it just like he’s seen the Winchester brothers do dozens of times. The cut on his palm doesn’t bother him much—after all, pain is one of the few things Castiel is still familiar with.
But now it’s been a week, and his hand still hasn’t healed. It still hurts. And that is something he’s unfamiliar with. Pain never lasted more than a few hours in Castiel’s life. Sure, he’s been tortured before, but that’s different because it’s constant new wounds.
Castiel’s been dealing the cut on his hand for seven days, and it still hurts, bothering him every time he has to hold something. He’s exhausted because he still hasn’t gotten the hang of sleep, he needs to eat every day, and he has to go to the bathroom multiple times. He smells if it’s been too long since his last shower. He’s never smelled bad in his life, and now he stinks after a day, he’s always hungry and tired, and his damn hand still hurts!
At this point, it’s like The Last Unicorn—"you trapped him in a human body, he will go mad."
Dean would find him in a full breakdown, and for the first time, he’d truly understand Castiel’s reality—how Castiel already had a body, how he’s from a completely different species, and now he feels trapped in a reality that’s not his own.

I was "fighting" with some Portuguese fucker on Twitter because I'm brazilian and that man was saying a lot of colonizer shit (as they often do). For most of the fight he thought i was a dude (my icon pic is tcw Obi-Wan) and when a correct him he changed completely! His comeback was that "it makes sense and that he wouldn't pay to fuck me"
What the actual fuck?
I know gringos sexualize brazilian women but that was so offensive and random. Did he assumed I'm a sex worker because I'm latina? Or does he think we fuck everyone?
He didn't knew my age, how i look or anything but the moment he realized I'm a brazilian woman he assumed i would want to have sex with him
Fuck that dude
