The Phenomenon of Ecstasy by Salvador Dali (1933)
This image explores Surrealism's preoccupation with states suspended between the conscious and the unconscious, of which ecstasy is an example of (as well as delirium, automata, hypnosis, dreams etc.)
It also exemplifies the Surrealists' adoption of the collage technique from the Dada movement.
