Fun times keep getting better

This week was my first week at CONAN! It was very fun, and I'm already learning a lot about this business. Coffee is very important, good thing I'm an addict and know my way around the caffeine world. Everyone is so inviting and funny... which I think was a given :)  I also went to the Dodgers game this weekend and had a blast. It was my first sport game that I could drink at! Beer is a lot better while in a stadium, even though it was $12.... Today (Saturday) I went on a hike to the Hollywood sign, it was very hot, very long, and very sandy, but it was so worth it. I feel happy-tired after the 3 hour hike and am so happy to have see the Hollywood sign up close and personal. Very fun! Tomorrow is a lounge day with food shopping and laundry on the agenda.. and then a full week of Conan and Classes. I'm actually excited to finally get my routine figured out, and get in the groove of LA. Peace out for now, going to a Western bar/club, it has a mechanical bull!

FIRST day of the LAST year...

My first day of school was really nice. I liked both professors, and the course load isn't too daunting.  A few papers and the usual midterm/final exams shouldn't be too bad. I was sad it was the last first day of school I'll ever have, unless some company pays for me to go to grad school one day… How crazy is it, that for 16 years I've had the same routine every Aug/Sept to get nervous, meet new people, have the routine of introducing myself and giving some weird fact about my life. I can't say I'll miss those things…but the adrenaline everyone gets for their first day of school is over, that just boggles my mind! It'll be a great year I think, starting it here in LA and then ending it with my closest friends back in Ithaca. 

Cheers to a 16 year career that I can only hope leads to a lifetime of success! Lets cross our fingers I'm not "peaking" at 21!

Emmy Announcement...

By the way… the whole reason I had to drive across the county in a week was to get to LA to make it to the Creative Arts Emmy's ! I was a seat filler and it was too much fun! I sat in the front section and ended up sitting next to Henry Winkler and Joel McHale! It was a great experience to say the least!

A little bit of LA.

Week 1

It's been one week since I arrived in LA after driving across the county. The trip took 65 hours and about 3300 miles, it was one hell of a drive, but totally worth it. I saw some amazing national landmarks, parks and canyons and was able to make so many memories with my mom and sister. I went from Philly, PA to Los Angeles, CA in 8 days and went through 10 states! There are a few of my favorite pictures of that trip in another post.

So this first week has been really busy, I had orientation for classes, got my start date for CONAN and started getting a feel for LA. I've explored a few different bars and clubs, saw The Giver (which I totally recommend, it was great), and unpacked, did laundry and found all those little places for errands. I also went on a hike in Runyon Canyon and went to a free concert in downtown LA. The Pacific ocean is beautiful, it seems to look a lot more turquoise than the Atlantic. I went to Santa Monica twice, once with my friends and once with my mom and sister. It was very fun to see the Pier but it was so crowded; I'm excited to explore other beaches now. Today (Saturday 8/24) I went to Universal for the second time, I went with my mom and sister last Monday. Universal was super fun, the rides are so unexpected and I loved watching my friends have a blast.

So far so good in the City of Angeles, I'll keep you posted with my adventures along the way, for now I'm off to finish watching the VMAs; I still can't believe I'm in the city where everything happens!
