parker had a plan, she was going to go to this new years thing enough that she could be seen and nobody would question it before leaving to go do basically anything other than stand in a room full of strangers. yet, here she still was and the clock was starting to near midnight, the girl had found herself a spot against the wall to watch the crowds, this really wasn’t her scene, when she heard a familiar voice and she turned to see lu walking over to her. 

it took a minute for parker to pull her gaze away from the other girl long legs, but when she did she was greeted with a smile. “it’s a rare sight lu, i’m not much of a party person.”

partying was always lunette's scene. if she was lost, the best place to start looking was the closest partying to her last known location. it worked nine times out of ten. concerning habits aside, she did just enjoy a good party, but she understood that it wasn't everyone's scene, and frankly, she didn't blame those people at all. 

oooo, the outfit got her attention. lu would have to keep that tucked away in the back of her mind. she was also definitely enjoying the view. "well, then count me honored, parker, that i get to see you out and about tonight."

lu was having the time of her life here at this new year's eve party. this was the first time in a very long time that she just felt light and that things were going to be good. there was something about wintergreen, that's all she could say. it was getting closer to midnight, and she could see the couples starting to form, and it didn't really bother her, she never had a new year's kiss and wasn't expecting one, but someone caught her eye. it was that cutie from the coffee shop earlier. the one with the really cool tattoos and the hair she wanted to pull. lu took her all in. the pantsuit? sexy.

the best yet? she was alone. lu slid up to her with her short little outfit, all of her legs on display, and a smile curving on her lips. "well, hit there parker. fancy seeing you here."

parker was so curious as to why this girl was talking to her, the other looked sweet and innocent while parker was covered in tattoos from nearly head to toe. “coffee, black.” the blonde said with a small shrug, the fact that she drank black coffee was probably one of the most ‘badass’ things she did.

if parker only knew, if she only knew. she was in for a wild ride, that’s for sure. “ooo,” she reflected, “i like your style. pop yourself a seat,” she motioned at her table, “i’ll be right back.” she then trotted off the to counter, her ponytail bouncing for almost a cartoonish effect. she grabbed her own drink, extra whip cream of course, and the black coffee didn’t take too long. she returned to the table sliding the other her drink. “there you are. i’m lu, by the way.” it wasn’t often that she got to introduce herself.

he laughed childishly, peering over her shoulder towards her phone screen. “which one? because when i left this morning if remember correctly there were two.”

“gross, not actually,” she said, giving him a solid shove out of her personal space. man, atticus really needed to learn about boundaries, “as if i would actually sleep with anyone that’s been near your dick.”

so there’s a lot to unpack here.

let’s start with her mom. it’s literally just so fucked up what her mom put her through all for the sake of her own ego. she was nothing but a work horse for her mom to the point where lu’s physical and mental health just meant nothing to this woman. lu was already dealing with addictions to alcohol, adderall, and xannax by the time she was 16, and by the time she was 18, you could add coke to that list. 

which lu did the smart thing and cut her mom out of her life when she turned 18 and got out of the environment that made her so sick, and by the time she was 20, she had kicked her adderall and xannax addictions and coke for the most part (she still indulges and has relapses) by herself. she is an incredibly strong person. 

she’s strong, and she’s smart, like man she as sharp as tack. like going into a battle of wits with this girl is going in unarmed for most people. she’s also so insanely talented. before she quit acting at 18, she was nominated for an oscar, like the girl is good. it’s just as far as acting goes, she just can’t stomach that life anymore. she feels like she’s giving into her mom and giving her mom what she wants. 

she’s strong, but she’s been strong for too long and she’s cracking. she literally doesn’t know how to ask for help. she doesn’t know that you can lean on other people and let them know that you’re having moments of weakness. she doesn’t know this because she never had anyone to tell her this. she never had a dad and telling her mom anything had three outcomes. 1. getting drugs thrown at her, 2. indifference and being told to get herself together, 3. sometimes violence. 

she’s so trapped inside her own head and she wants to just scream all the time, but instead she turns to her unhealthy coping mechanisms because at this point, her problems feel like invincible monsters that she’ll never control.

parker:

parker ran a hand through her hair and looked at the other girl, there was something about her that intrigued the girl. the blonde may have looked tough but that was just a persona she let on. “that’s not-” parker started to protests but her next appointment wasn’t for sometime so she had time to spare. “actually- i guess that’d be okay.”

they couldn’t look anything more different, completely different world, but lu was so intrigued. she thought girls like this died out with riot girl bands. she was all about this girl’s aesthetic. lu, on the other hand, might look soft as they come. long, soft hair, makeup always on point that made her look like a doll, color coordinated outfits down to the accenting eyeshadow color, but she was so different on the inside. she lit up at the acceptance. “perfect! what will you have?”

cam:

Cam had gone through his fight with Aurelia a few days ago and it was starting to drag on him. It wasn’t that he was depressed- except that it was. He was hurting but he would barely admit it since she was just a girl he was fucking, right? There was nothing between them… right? Either way, he found himself walking toward the bar when a pretty little thing was sat outside grumbling as he came that way. He stopped to indulge her, listening and then examining the same old bar he’d been to way too many times since coming to Wintergreen. “You know what? Fuck this place I’m in. I need to get absolutely shitfaced.”

"That's what I'm good for!" She chimed in with some glee. "Come one, there's an even more dive place than this, really seedy. That hot Honeycrust guy that got the skater pregnant. What's his name? Eddy? Egbert? It's e-something. he's really nice. Anyway, he told me this is where you go for a real night of Wyoming yeehawing good times. Let's go, tall tree friend." She said, beginning to escort him to some of the backstreets, well as backstreet as you could get in a town like this.

parker:

parker felt awful, she’d slept in and missed her first appointment in the morning and now all she needed was some coffee to get her through the day. she must have still been in a daze because upon walking into the coffee shop she managed to run into someone. “i’m so sorry.” she muttered looking up at the girl in front of her, she was really pretty. “uh- hi… sorry.”

she had this vibe to her. john mulaney’s “do not fuck with me” rang through he head as she took this woman in. she was the definition of bde and lu was already swooning. i wonder if i could get her back to arch, floated through her head. “oh no, it’s my fault... you know, i could get you a coffee to make up for it?” she asked with a small smile as she bit her lip.

atticus‌:

reluctantly, he rose to greet the day, though the greeting was more of a long-suffering realization that he was alive and had no say in his existence. blonde curls framed his face making him seem uncharacteristically angelic. “looking for all the ugly photos you got tagged in last night?” he said, draping himself across her chair.

she had already experienced her daily disappointment of realizing that she’s a human that exists. it was rather unfair, all of it, but that’s why she got fucked up about it. she was sure her updo was a wreck and she looked like a goblin, but she didn’t care at this point. “nah, i’m looking at the nudes that your man sent me.” she huffed until she could get comfortable with her new neighbor on the chair.

“why would i ever mind?” caspian asked, already tossing his shirt off to the side and setting his towel alongside them. the brunette walked to the side of the pool and sat down next to the other, “i hope you don’t mind me interrupting your alone time at the pool.”

she shrugged, “idk, maybe you wanted the pool to yourself.” holy shit he was beautiful. she was looking him up and down and she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t thinking about pulling that man’s hair. “oh, i think i can make this exception just once,” she teased.

the jackhammer in his head is had grown far too loud to sleep. atticus stretched his long limbs to the corners of the bed, hissing at the biting cold of the bed frame. he rubbed the sleep from his eyes and spied lu among her own morning antics. “bitch.” he said simply, in way of a greeting. // @lalunettelake

lu was curled up on the plush arm chair, scrolling through her phone, wanting desperately to sleep, but anytime she closed her eyes, the room would start violently spinning. she should not have had those extra shots, but what's the point of living if you don't live it up. "whore," she said back, though it was more of a groan.

lu was sitting at a table in the cute little coffee shop in town. she was planning next week’s content, the only thing she put real work into, plus, she valued jade’s input on these things. as she was writing ideas down, her name was called for her second cup of coffee and she stood and turned abruptly, almost knocking into someone. “oh,” the girl was cute, “oh, hi there.”
