"Impressive, but still amusing to me." The system of his world, Gehenna-- a name she hadn't heard before, was indeed a bit strange. Yet it was basic enough for her to understand. Like anything the strongest was at the top, and for him to be a member of the eight highest demons was impressive. She couldn't help but wonder how their rankings stood up against other demons of high levels she'd previously encountered. It seemed every demonic group had their own gauge to determine strength.

She rolled her shoulders into a shrug, "It's amusing because you seem proud to be seventh. That is good, but there are still demons higher than you. Don't you want to be stronger?"

“Amusing?” He tipped his head in some confusion. “We’re the strongest eight, along with Father, in all of Gehenna. There are thousands of demons, so you could say we’re royalty. I suppose the others are family, yes. My brothers.” Amaimon didn’t expect her to know or understand the system, even though she seemed to act like she knew a thing or two about demons, so he didn’t mind explaining it a little more. “Why is it amusing?”

Reaching into his pocket again he brought out another piece of candy, long fingernails undoing the wrapping before the sweet disappeared into his mouth. All this talking was making him hungry— or maybe he just wanted something to do besides stare at the girl in front of him.

"Nothing other than that, I suppose." It seemed she also wasn't making any attempt at keeping the conversation going. The demon's expression showed how utterly bored he was, and Rose was only a slight bit more entertained. A conversation like that one wasn't going to be exciting at all, so it was better to just drop it. Or at least she figured.

"And so I have." She didn't want to purposely make him angry, but she wished he would at least show some emotion other than boredom. She was on delicate ground, but she had no plans of backing down now. "No, no problem. I just find it amusing that you're ranked seventh out of all eight. Who are the others? Family or something?"

“What were you expecting?” If she was making any attempt to keep him from being completely and utterly bored, which he doubted at this point, she was doing a very poor job. She was trying to tell him about what demons were and weren’t stronger than humans? Didn’t he justexplain all of this? Amaimon began to hope his expression was getting across just how uninterested he was, because if not he was very close to saying so.

“Oh, but you have now.” He couldn’t tell if she meant that as an insult or not but what came after definitely was, by the sound of it. And if he weren’t so unimpressed to the point of indifference he would have flat-out laughed at her. He knew just how high his ranking was and how powerful he could be, saying only seventh just showed how little she knew. “Yes, ‘only’ seventh. Is there a problem?”

She glared down at the spider, disappointed that it wasn't dead. She kicked it away slightly, hoping it would value its life and just leave.

"Yeah, well-- you still have a bad taste of humor."
