Moonlight Lovers - Ivan chapter 4, total APs 11,040
The episode starts with the manor’s residents meeting to discuss about the murder. As usual, they have tried to follow tracks but found out they stopped at the garden and didn’t know where else to go. Ivan has locked himself in his room since then, we have a chance to express our doubts about him and ask if he may have been the one to kill the girl because he had lost control. While in episode 3 it is better to not tattle on him, in this case it actually seems that the opposite is the correct choice, this way we find out that it could have never been Ivan otherwise the other vampires would’ve easily noticed. (Ivan himself also eventually points out that it was better to share our doubts.) We banter again with Ethan but nothing major. Talking with Raphael we find out that Ethan is unhinged, he’s had a complicated past and won’t tolerate injustice, he will react fast and violently. We are also told to stay away from Ivan because if he isolated himself it means that he is in one of his dangerous states.
Eloise complies for a couple of days but then decides it’s time to go see Ivan. We find him rotting in his room and have a chance to talk to him and make him open up a little. We find out that in the past he had indeed killed an innocent girl because he hadn’t been able to control himself.
Eloise is very encouraging, it seems that the main goal of this route to unlock the good ending is to make him believe in himself, without coddling him. There is a nice scene of Ivan dropping on one knee, drinking Eloise’s blood from her wrist that should’ve deserved an illustration.
Before leaving his room, Ivan says that he would like to start training and we suggest to do it together. The following night we go to the woods and, after some more talking and bonding, we challenge him to a run. He wins, but depending on the choice (a very important one for both LoM and probably ending) the scene is slightly different, the best option leads to him helping us and we climb a tree together. Up on the tree some more chatting until Eloise literally jumps on him and kisses him, he’s nothing but happy to indulge her so we have the illustration and the episode ends.
It was a sweet, cute episode. Eloise and Ivan are really bonding and he’s such a sweetheart.

this was...
I just can’t
Vlad’s farewell letter
My love,
Please forgive me for leaving without telling you in person, one last time, how much happiness and strength you’ve given me. By the time you find this letter, I will have already left this world and you’ll finally be free.
I’m writing this while you sleep, in the moments before the sun rises and fills your bedroom with light. I’m releasing you now, to return to the world where you belong. And the daylight will cover me like a funeral shroud.
Don’t blame yourself or think you might have done something to change my mind. The time has come for me to act with bravery. To accept what I’d already known for a long time, as I already explained.
Night has always been like a prison for me, even before I was turned.
I wanted to lock you up with me so I wouldn’t have to suffer alone. But I was wrong.
I loved you. More than anyone I’ve ever loved in my life spent roaming aimlessly. I know how hard you fought for me. You were able to make me feel things, emotions I’d long forgotten. And I started to understand, little by little, what I was doing. I was hiding. Keeping you close to me, I was only delaying the inevitable.
My time on earth is drawing to a close. Neil is dead and no longer poses a threat to the manor. Now is time for me to free myself. And to free you as well. You deserve so much more than a life of hiding in the dark.
You are the light I spent my whole life seeking. I need to let you shine and to fill the world with the warmth and kindness you showed me.
I’m going to kiss you one last time and leave this letter on your pillow. You have given me the brightest memories of my life.
Goodbye, my love. Be happy. Wherever I am… I’ll never forget you.
Vladimir

ivan is canonly described by eloise to have orange eyes with dark circles beneath them, a straight nose, and stark cheekbones
her favorite feature of these seems to be his eyes as she mentions them multiple times across each chapter. she compares them to flames and says they seem to glow, even in the dark.
i just wanted to share this as i thought it would be neat for any writers or artists to reference

Sexy Lyrics!
I’ve head this headcanon since the beginning that Ivan is a musician, and maybe I wasn’t so far from the truth
And when they dance, they do it to a jazz&rock song
which I believe may be this song
youtube
…interesting lyrics

^^^^^^^ THISSSSSS
Ethan is just plain disgusting character. There is a limit of how much asshole a character can be even more a LI. LI touching anyone's body (it doesn't matter if it is the mc or even a background character) body without their consent, bullying and hitting is the FK LIMIT. Even if we are in another route. That is not a bad boy behavior. That is a fucking disgusting violent creep behavior. Stop writing shit like this and and then brush it off. Ivan and Eloise better beat his ass off.
