How do you decide what to read next? 🤔💭 I used to be a genre-only kind of reader, and I would stay in that for months or even years. Now I jump around from young adult to horror to literature to fantasy. In fact I deliberately jump around to broaden my horizons 😁📚 Haven’t even thought about the next book yet. “Well, as they said, it's not over until the mockingjay sings.” 🔥🦅🐍 I’m back in the world of Panem, experiencing the Hunger Games before Katniss Everdeen was born. And everything is so different. Set 10 years after the war, this story is told from President Snow’s point of view when he was a teenager. Confronting to say the least when we know what he becomes 😬 But his thoughts and ideals have reminded me that all sides of the battlefield trust they are fighting for the right reasons, and will do whatever it takes to survive. I’m about halfway through 😌 His growing relationship with his tribute is a little unusual, but we’ll see how it turns out. So far it’s a good read. It challenges everything you thought you knew about the Capitol and the world of Panem. Everyone has their own way of organising their shelves. I usually go by author (if I have a lot) or genre. None of that colour-coding stuff. Next on the TBR list is Tidelands by Phillipa Gregory 🌾🌊🍂✨ It’s just recently I’ve become interested in historical fiction, namely European and more specifically English history.
