Water reflections are hard. ;___; I wanted to also share my process before painting, from rough sketch to detailed drawing, since I consider myself a beginner as a painter but I've been drawing since I was young.

I want to get better at doing loose, but my tendency is toward detail. At least until I get lazy.

Sometimes I look at all the things in the world I haven't painted yet but feel ill-equipped to attempt, and I know that if I keep making mediocre paintings now I'm gonna keep getting better, and that is so exciting to me.

I'm gonna keep getting better.

I am NOT happy with this, but I'm over it. Done for my watercolor class. I like how the sky came out, at least.

When I see nice, visually appealing "good" art, it makes me happy, I want to like it and see more of it, but then I kind of just move on.

But when I see less skillfully executed "bad" art, I get inspired. I think, I can do better than that, and challenge myself to do it. I see ways that the art could be improved and get the itch to prove to myself that I'm right. But most of all, seeing art being shared from all skill levels normalizes to me that art, regardless of it being "good" or "bad", is valid and worth sharing. And it makes me feel okay about sharing my art too.

I hope my unskilled art inspires you too.
