You’re kidding right? Tell me you are. That’s exactly what it was. That’s what it has to be. You mean to tell me that with everything going on, you didn’t stop to think that maybe it wasn’t a good idea? Are you crazy? ---God, there is so much you just don’t get.
Momentary lapse in our judgement. Seriously? Is that what you’re telling yourself? You know what, Kyle. Just turn around and walk away like you were. I’m busy, I have to milk the cows. We’re over this. We have a truce and, honestly, I don’t need to do anything else besides point out where you put the dead animals. Have a good day.

"back the fuck up, you dick with ears."
“Things I don’t know shit about?!” The laugh that Murdock let out came from deep in his belly and hinted with hysteria. It’s force nearly tossed Murdock’s head back, despite it being short lived. As soon as it cut short, Murdock took an abrupt step forward. It was everything he had not to cross the distance between them, and so he settled for stabbing his finger aggressively into the empty space. “That’s a fucking riot, Sullivan.” The snarl that contorted Murdock’s face hung heavily from his voice as well, and unlike Toby, he wasn’t trying to control it.

Yeah, I’m going to walk away. Easily, actually. Just watch... Entitled little---everyone around here just---whatever. Forget it.
“Are you seriously going to walk away? Kyle, you can’t just run away from your problems.”

I can do my job just fine without letting all of ... that get in the way. If you need a truce just to get through the day, then truce. Besides, no need to bring up that. It was a momentary lapse in judgment. Right? Isn’t that what we’re telling ourselves?
Don’t get technical with me. We’re not kids anymore, not after this thing that came into town. We’ve surpassed half of our lifespan now, so don’t tell me that ’ we’re kids’ nonsense. — Yes, there is. Did you see the schedules? We’re on rounds at the same time so whenever you bring your animals, I’ll be there to pick them up. If anything, we need a truce not to make our days miserable. That’s it. I don’t care to talk about the before.

I’ve told you people more than a million times to not go into the woods. So don’t act like it’s my fault when you’re all too damn dumb to listen. Ask around. How many times have I said it’s dangerous, that the new hunters leave traps where they aren’t supposed to, that every step must be taken with caution? Don’t yell at me, go yell at the kids that can’t mind a ‘keep out’ or ‘turn back’ sign to save their lives --- literally.
“Are you trying to be smart with me? That’s cute. Doesn’t take my mind of the fact your stupid traps everywhere have landed four hurt kids in the hospital already this month.”

What’s going on is I don’t need your pity, or your help, or anything of the sort, okay? Quit trying to fix everything, Tab. Just save it. I’m not in the mood.
“Kyle, knock it off. You know I would never do anything like that. This little attitude you’ve had these last couple weeks is really wearing me thin. You need to get off of your high horse and grow the heck up before someone makes you.”
“—–I consider you like family. To hear you talk to me like that—- like you don’t even know me…. And for what? What is going on with you?”

You started it, I’m ending it. It’s not that hard to follow. Do I need to break it down for you?
“Watch yourself, cum dumpster; I don’t remember you being in charge of this conversation.”

Oh, here we go. Why don’t you just shout your giant favor from the rooftops, Tabitha? I’m sure everyone would stop and listen to the likes of you. Hey everybody, rich kid Holloway let check bouncing Lawson stay at her house for free. She’s a real saint! Bow at her feet, and maybe she’ll bless you too.
“And I said I’m not finished. —–Seriously, who told you you could talk to me like that? After everything I’ve done for you?”

A chi--- Newsflash, Soph. We are kids... and last I checked I hadn’t signed on for another lecture today. Why wouldn’t this conversation be over? We haven’t spoken in months. There is no reason to change that now.
The conversation hasn’t even started but fine, go away. Keep acting like a child.

When it bites you, I’m gonna laugh. Loud. So loud. Just, all day long. You’ll hear me. Laughin’. Loudly.
“Come on Lawson, listen to your elders - didn’t anyone ever teach you any respect? Give me the damn bug or I’m gonna make you eat it instead.”

That was you?! Look, I don’t know how many times I have to tell you people, but keep out of my woods. Too many traps out there and that’s just what I need: someone getting hurt ‘cause of it.
“Kids are fun to play outside with until you turn your back and they go running into the woods — and when they finally come back, they’re missing a shoe. So if you happen to find a little black sneaker lying around, let me know.”

What happened to “not” wanting it?
“You won’t have to. I’m not a chicken, like, I’m so far from a chicken I could be an anti-chicken - just give it to me”

Okay, you know what? I already regret telling you that to be honest.

I need to work on my listening skills? So you coming out here when I’ve distinctly told you not to means what exactly?
“You need to work on your listening skills, sir. I just said I was here to make sure you didn’t teach the children the wrong thing. Y'know, since you’re absolutely terrible at setting traps. I was protecting our future.”
