A lot of people now a days think they can find that one clue that is the ultimate key to finding a bad person. Here is the thing: there isn't. A person who does one or two writing tricks is not an actual clue to finding out they are using AI.

Yes, it's scary that people cannot tell, and that is the issue. But trying to become the ultimate detective in what is AI and what is not by going after guesses with no actual proof is destroying actual writers and artists. Because now a days, the AI has developed enough where it does look legit.

It bugs me so much that people online now a days would rather tear someone down and ruin their lives just to make themselves feel safe, but it's because that's just how the culture has been cultivated through cruel social practices. That's not me trying to say never fight for what is right, you just need to fight wisely or you become the bad guy in the end.

Is it frustrating that people are using AU to replace artists? Yes. But the best way to fight back is to support those you know and ask around who uses AI or not. Cause I think just asking and hearing the author say "No, I actually spent [certain amount of time] of my free time making this" is so much more encouraging to hear.

In fact, artists and writers, brag about how long it took for you to make your stuff. Talk about your behind the scenes! What inspired you! Get genuine with your audience cause then they can feel like it's genuine too!

If ANY of yall EVER do this shit to me, im deleting every single fic out of spite.

If I ever catch one of yall doing this to another author and I know youre a follower of my work I will block you personally on every platform

None of yall are the fic police. I DESPISE genai. I think its an insult to art, humanity, and the planet itself. But aint not a single fucking person here qualified to pick apart a strangers fic looking for a gotcha moment to make yourselves feel superior. If you think something is ai you can ask the author (most are proud of the ai use and will just tell you straight up) if they say yes you have your answer and can warn people. If they say no and you dont believe them you block and quietly keep it between you and maybe a close group of friends. Spreading misinformation is DANGEROUS. And NONE of you doing this shit are anywhere near qualified to do it.

I feel its important to understand, to anyone reading this, we are saying this because the internet is NOT a safe environment. It hasn't been ever.

People now a days have learned to be very sneaky online, and that means they will and can do awful things to strangers no matter the age. You don't know who the person on the otherside of the screen is. And that should scare you a little.

That being said, it is possible to move around on here safely, but it's very important to never forget why people remind others about safety protocals. Because there have been victims, there have been crimes. And we need to learn to protect ourselves on here.

Last night I saw two people give their real names out in one of the Townsquare servers. They were treating a public chat room like DMs. a bunch of people were logged in to get the Mail Dog Reward so now anyone who happened to be looking at the chat knows that personal information 😭

Guys please don’t go giving out sensitive information to people you just met online. Even if it is just your first name that is still important information. Keep it close to your chest.
