The other night husband and I were watching a documentary about the yeti where they were doing DNA analysis of samples of supposed yeti fur, and every one of them came back as bears.

Anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. People said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. Now, I happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. So every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange.

So now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? Bear. Every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear.

Bears. They’re everywhere. Be wary. Anyone or anything could be a bear.

Hey Gina,

Just wanted to share a little something with you.

Tonight we went and had dinner in Paris with my husband because I wanted to go and see the Vasque (formerly known as Olympic Vasque) as I didn’t do it last year during the Olympic Games.

And on our way back, we rode across Place de l’Opera, and just beside the Café de la Paix.

Of course I immediately thought of All the sins you didn’t have and imagine Louis and Harry in the Café.

That’s all, just wanted to share this little moment that made me think of you and your beautiful writing.

Because I remember vividly Harry pointing to the moon at my show (LOT23 Paris Night 1) and saying « regardez la lune » (look at the moon).

And I found that poetic at the time, but now even more.

What are your thoughts on Larry being called as mass psychosis? Do you see any truth in that?

WTF. No. That’s absurd. I am an intelligent, educated woman who stumbled into Larry only recently. I had had no exposure to pretty much anything One Direction before that. I wasn’t primed or anything to notice the dynamic between Harry and Louis, but I did, and then I did my research. I had absolutely no investment in this fandom or in being right about anything. I merely noticed something, did some research, and decided that I enjoyed this community and exploring more about the topic. Where would the mass psychosis come in? I am literally neither stupid nor crazy, either in mental health or layman’s terms. No one tried to convince me of anything – I didn’t even communicate with anyone for the first 8 months of my interest in the topic. And spending my time discussing Larry isn’t exactly a common pursuit amongst my coworkers, friends, and family. 

Anyone who points out that the Emperor has no clothes is called psychotic. There’s a reason that there’s a Cassandra myth in pretty much every culture on Earth. (There’s also a reason the “Cassandra” is often a woman.) It’s an easy way to discredit those who won’t go along with the story they’re being fed by whomever is in power. Seeing through lies is not a psychosis, and it may be the biggest shame of this fandom that so many of those who do see through the lies are labeled as mentally ill.

Sorry to hijack your post, but it’s so important to me that I can’t leave it in the tags.

First this ask is really rude. Point made.

But what I find actually awful about this situation is that people can’t imagine other people being intelligent / educated enough to use sophisticated vocabulary or grammar by themselves + who do you think AI learnt from (https://www.tumblr.com/larrysmomfics/791141404107767808)?

I’m not a writer but I’m a reader, and I learned a lot by reading (be it vocabulary, history, open mindness, …) and I am always fighting to use right words when expressing oneself. And I wish people would use their brains, not AI for everything.

Sorry, it’s a bit of a mess, but I find it really frightening. Your brain is like a muscle : if you don’t use your brain, it’ll shrink, and then AI will not be the tool you use to go faster, it’ll be the crutch without which you’ll crumble.

I am not trying to be disrespectful but sometimes you use big/sophisticated words in your cowboy fic (it's the first one I have read of yours and I am enjoying it a lot!) and it makes me think you use AI or something similar. Again, I do not mean this to be rude but I'm curious if you do.

i use 'big words' because i have a law degree.

i’m curious what arbitrary and specific flavors people dislike are. rb and tag a Taste you simply don’t fuck with. for flavor reasons not texture reasons. for me? i do not like elderflower or caraway for whatever reason

i'll defend fanfic for my whole life. like the joy it brings is genuinely transformative and indulgent in a way unique to the genre. it isn't meant for a market, it isn't meant to be sold or marketed. it is born out of such care and passion for a media that one must write and must share it, so other folks can enjoy it to. for no other reason than love and joy. do you know how special that is? especially in our current social and political climate.

Absolutely amazing how AO3 is a part of the internet that doesn't sneak in any ads and doesn't have an algorithm and doesn't watch you or record how much time you spend looking at each fic or whatever. It's just right there to use for free. Legend

hello everyone and happy early pride!! 🌈

this is a project i actually worked on last year but posted it very late into june so i dont think it made the rounds i was hoping… so im starting it out a bit earlier this year 

i’m a sucker for pride flag sticker/etc. designs and i decided to create some of my own - they are subtle enough to be safe for anyone who maybe can’t normally buy pride stuff, but still recognizable within the community (hopefully lmao) 

then, of course i wanted to combine them all into one big piece that would still be subtle - i was inspired by those vintage butterfly species posters and wanted to recreate a version of that with my pride butterflies! the labels underneath each butterfly are short descriptions of what each flag represents, to also help keep things under the radar. super special thanks to @yourlocaltrylingual for helping me with the french translations <3333

all of the individual butterflies can be found on my redbubble, as well as the main poster! they all have nondescript names for safe ordering <3 

i hope everyone has a safe and happy pride month, i couldn’t have asked for a better community to be a part of!
