twisted astro but he's a lethal twisted INSTEAD of dandy and dandy's trying to hide him from the other toons while finding a cure for his “friend” (they're gay married to me). the other toons think astros gone missing (dandy feeds into the lie), and are descending to search for him.

AU MECHANICS / ICHOR

ichor is something all toons are made up of. they don't have organs or anything, they're just ichor and other things. the sticky substance allows for extra durability (they're working with kid's all the time thing's are bound to happen okay?) that surpasses human limit's.

(most) toons can reform limbs if they're somehow cut off, (ex. cosmo cuts his arm off and makes some cake, crumbles it up and uses it to make a new arm, ichor does the rest).

when a toon is overloaded with ichor, it has nowhere to go, which often causes extra limbs, leaking from the eye's and mouth, aggressive behavior, and what we know as “twisted's”.

it's not possible to get “infected” unless you like. decided to drink ichor (in small amounts, 8-10 oz or less, this is safe and can heal a toon, it tastes really gross though. glisten REFUSES to touch it because it'll get him dirty), pumped it into somebody or similar.

sprout can just spray fertilizer on the area, should he lose a limb, and it'll grow back within a few day's, much like a strawberry! this also applies to dandy, since they're both plants, but dandy heals differently from sprout.

DANDY

dandy is a (1920's) vintage toon, coming from a time when lead was used in EVERYTHING and the formula to make toons properly (without defects or poor quality of life, toons we're not regarded as sentient during that time due to lack of study, and we're often mistreated; dandy's just lucky).

said material has been extracted out of him, but side effects still remain from it due to the chemical reaction that ichor and (raw) lead leave. this includes: slower healing time without assistance of fertilizer (which would make dandy's healing time normal. what would take sprout a few day's to heal would take dandy a few weeks).

now, unlike the other toons, dandy was not made for working with kid's in mind, instead he was supposed to be a rubber hose toon that interacted with the real world. they ended up going bankrupt from lack of fund's and dandy was abandoned in the remnants of what would become gardenview.

(the reason for all the floors is because it also doubled as an ichor extraction unit and storage site, hence the doohickey's and seemingly endless amounts of gumballs in dandy's shop).

to dandy, they just got up one day, and without explanation, left him behind. he blames himself it was insanely traumatic for him btw cause until the founders of gardenview came along dandy was left alone (the company closed down in 1948, and delilah + arthur opened in 1988, only to close down in 2002 due to lack of regulations).

for those who don't wanna do the math that is 44 year's worth of isolation. that is 4 decades. 16,061 day's.

PREMISE

dandy and astro we're experimenting with ichor, wanting to see it's properties and whatnot. nothing malicious, just curiosity! a little science project to keep themselves occupied after the show's cancellation. invested too. then An Accident happened and astro turned twisted.

in this AU, dandy needs tapes because astro likes watching them with dandy (some have the old episodes on them and that brings them both comfort! it also keeps astro occupied when he's not sleeping, making thing's safer for everyone involved), and to keep data since astro has gotten into the habit of shredding thing's (usually old couches in deeper floor's) + extracted ichor to try and find a cure for him. he would do it himself but dandy is far too busy trying to keep his best bud from going mayhem.

astro, at the moment, is not doing anything dream related as dandy doesn't know if it's contagious or not + astro needs to rest since his twisted form is very painful / uncomfortable which is a reason why he can get so aggressive. astro stays in his twisted (he doesn't know how to shift in-between like canon dandy can, and he's far too scared to try doing that).

the twisteds (other than astro) are not sentient whatsoever in this AU, they're simply husk's of the toons core traits they we're designed with (their show personalities we're fleshed out as the toons discovered who they we're as individuals. they're actor's of themselves, basically).

they (twisted) we're plushies / figures made for merchandise that never got used after the shows cancellation (that's why a lot of them are so stretched out or missing body parts. finn was dandy's biggest failure in that regard).

dandy experiment's on them to try and find a cure, feels very guilty about it since those are his friends faces and bodies and voices but doesn't know what else to do.

he's such a threat because he's becoming increasingly agitated as time goes on and the toons continue to go to deeper floor's (astro is on the lowest floor in this AU; floor 100. this is where dandy's shop descends to after you're done buying from him. he roams around floor's from 99–86, currently the toons are on floor 75), making more noise and disturbing his sleep. the toons are fucking LOUD especially when being chased and shit.

all he wanna do is take a nap and not to mention he's HANGRY pretty much all the time (he's got a huge appetite and dandy can only sneak him so many cookie's before cosmo and sprout start raising brow's). he's also sassy and easily annoyed.

eventually astro sneaks into the toon kitchen and completely RAIDS everything possibly edible, leaving claw marks and feathers everywhere (5 star stealth is both a blessing and a curse) for sprout and cosmo to clean up. a fridge was lost that day. RIP 💔

OTHER

shelly can take rocks / bones and mold them into her body, making a new limb! she's one of the quickest to heal, given she's an ammonite and rarely crack's in the first place. by far one of the strongest toons.

poppy can just blow a bubble and looey can blow up a yellow / purple balloon. scrap's can craft new limbs using paper if she needs, and goob has abnormally fast healing, even for a toon. his arm's could be crushed by the elevator doors and they'd only be scuffed up. yes it'd still hurt cause goob doesn't have that much of a pain tolerance. he's not iron man. don't think he's good with pain to begin with but whatever bro

vee is an exception to this rule due to her being a robot, but she can create new limbs and use her wires to connect her interface to other electronics (think cyborg in that one teen titans go episode where he connects himself to the TV and goes evil), should her body be destroyed.

finn, due to being a fishbowl, has lower ichor levels than any other toon (he's mainly made up of water and that clear-blue jelly stuff you see in squishes, jello CAN work as a substitute in a pinch) and can't drink ichor without getting sick. he normally heals via that jelly stuff and slamming fiberglass on it. barnaby is a wind up plastic fish, which is why he doesn't use the jello method unless in emergencies. he can survive without liquids in his head but it's very uncomfortable for him / throws off his balance, also barnaby can't swim and he lowkey feels naked.

NOTES

though moonflower is canon in this AU (and non-abusive because they're an old married couple who are falling in love with each other all over again and you CANNOT stop my reign of terror), feel free to ship anything you like so long as it's not incestuous (craftcest, ribboncest) or just gross (toodles and pebble x anybody).

astro's twisted design may be subject to change, as i draw him different everytime for some reason. weird little moon man i HATE.

dandy is NOT evil!! he's not malicious in anyway and doesn't hold any ill will or hard feelings towards any toon, regardless of how angry some (other than shrimpo) may be at him. he understands where they're coming from, but he can't get himself to tell the truth since that'd require opening up about thing's in his past and actually being VULNERABLE (astro doesn't know the full thing even though he's literally the oldest toon delilah made).

he HATES putting down his happy-go-lucky cheerful rainbow guy persona because he thinks it'll make other's not want him anymore, or worse, leave him. he also doesn't know who he is without that mask, and he doesn't wanna express (or admit) his feelings. (he blames himself for them leaving. it must've been his fault. he needs to live up to what's expected of him, right? that's all he was made for, to act. be a mascot).

the EASIER thing to do would be to ask for help as most of the toons are nice people and would probably be understanding that dandy wasn't trying to hurt anyone IF he wasn't so in his own head about what others think of him.

YES this includes vee. she might not like him, and certainly isn't the nicest toon out there, but means well most of the time. she's more than intelligent enough to put her distaste aside when it comes to something really serious. yeah she doesn't like dandy but if astro's happy kissing that flower than whatever man.

vee thinks dandy's an annoying, pretentious brat who acts like he's better than everybody else because he's the mascot of gardenview. she see's him as a dotting man-child who needs to grow up, and dislikes when dandy tells her to “cheer up” or “smile more” because that's just the way she is.

dandy thinks vee is a rude, stuck-up toon who only cares for her best interests. dandy also tends to be old fashioned and doesn't understand why kid's think she's so nifty (still thinks the telephone is hip btw. you're not special you're OLD). he especially dislikes her because her spin-off gameshow got more attention than gardenview. he knows how selfish it is but he can't get himself to care.

she is a mage, she takes care of the forest, she is like “the mother of nature” but she is just a robloxian like everyone else. her personality is like someone who is protective and quiet, but sometimes she gets harsh when someone disturbs the forest. her powers is to grow plants, rocks and trees, she can use them as shields in forsaken and she heals herself with fruits. in pre-forsaken, she notices that someone cut down the trees, she looks for the culprit and she finds taph making a house using the wood he cut down from the forest. she is upset and asks him to leave but he refuses and a fight breaks out. taph wins the fight and begins to escape and acts like nothing happened. in the meantime she makes trees grow but she's still upset about him. in forsaken, she meets taph and dusekkar, she makes friends with him but is still angry with taph (taph is not sorry lol).
