I do often say that you don't need to go back to who you were before your trauma. That it's okay to be different, and you aren't less worthy. You can become who you want to.
And it's true. I stand by it.
I just want to also say it's okay to take time and grieve that person you lost. It's okay to grieve the things that you think could have been if it weren't for the trauma. You are absolutely allowed to feel these things.
