Decided I’m gonna officially start a project I’ve been thinking about for a while now. Fire emblem fates, first person story, all Flora’s perspective. I started a rewrite of the game but I wasn’t really digging it and I think I went in way too unplanned, so this time I’m gonna be making a sort of basic summary first then go Into details upon writing, but I’m gonna let myself get ahead before I post anything so I can actually post them regularly at some point and make sure I move at a steady pace and work in a way that lets me plan ahead for things like proper pacing, foreshadowing, character development in a way I can control more rather than write it on the fly. This is essentially gonna be a big test for me to see what sort of process works for me, ways I can sort of set myself up for success in what I write. It will take longer but over all I can make a final product I feel better about and can be proud of since longer works can get messy over time.
I’m doing the fates stuff in Flora’s perspective for a few reasons. She isn’t my favorite character but she is one of the characters I think got most screwed by fates writing and I feel like her place in the whole conflict can give a really good perspective that focus’ less on Corrin and makes it less of a deal of ā€œHey Corrin picked this side so this side will win.ā€ I’ll have to take some liberties naturally but my inspiration comes from Flora’s boss dialogue in multiple chapters where she says how she was abducted and forced into the maid role, their tribe is mistreated, the entire concept of a Nohrian rebellion, all that stuff feels like it can come very well from Flora and I want to let her shine and grow as a character, make tough choices, show the game’s impact and whatnot. This has gone on long enough but let this post be my inspiration into working on this and seeing it all the way through

Fire emblem fates rewrite part 2
The sound of metal blades clashing felt like it had drilled itself into Corrin’s brain. He and Xander had been fighting endlessly. Corrin has refused to stop, determined to show his strength. Fighting Xander was like punching a wall, you could put whatever strength against him but he would never fall. Corrin drew his arm back and dashed in, determined to land a final blow. Xander defended with his own blade and the 2 stood locked in the battle. Xander flung his arm almost effortlessly and pushed Corrin back. Corrin wasn’t ready and was knocked several feet away from his opponent who hardly looked half as tired as Corrin did.
ā€œYou put too much of your weight into your swing,ā€ Leo shouted from the sidelines, jotting down an analysis of Corrin’s battle technique in a notebook. ā€œYou’ll hit hard but if you get guarded after a swing like that, you leave yourself open. Had this been a real fight, you just gave Xander the perfect opening to kill you.ā€
Corrin was too winded to even think of a remark to his brother, yet alone shout it across the rooftop. Corrin stuck the top of his sword to the ground beneath him and leaned on it to catch his breath. Corrin was doubled over his sword when he heard Xander draw closer to him. ā€œYou fought extremely well,ā€ said the crown prince in a friendly tone, a stark contrast to his shouts and grunts in battle. ā€œYour training has progressed a lot since we last sparred.ā€ Corrin forced himself up to look his brother in the eye as he forced words out in between breaths. ā€œBut I... didn’t win...ā€ ā€œYou held your own very well,ā€ stated Xander, ā€œI’ve fought in serious battles, I know a skilled fighter when I see one.ā€
ā€œDoes this mean... do I meet father’s-ā€œ Xander cut Corrin off, unsure if he would be able to finish the sentence. ā€œYes. Father said I would be able to determine when you were strong enough, and I’ve decided that. I trained Leo and Camilla and they’ve held their own in battle, I can assure you meet the expectations.ā€ Leo quickly cut in ā€œI do believe I was the one asked to observe his battle capabilities. I ask you atleast look over my notes before going and deciding on your own.ā€ ā€œAnd what do those notes of yours say?ā€ inquired Xander. In response, Leo began slipping through pages of his book. ā€œFirst off we still need to address his swing technique. He leaves himself open too much, his stance is one of agility but this leaves him with less strength in guarding...ā€ Leo dragged on in his analysis, Corrin listening intently and kicking himself for any mistakes he made, Xander listening in silence. ā€œThere are certain things a soldier only learns on the battlefield,ā€ Xander began, ā€œI don’t plan to send him in alone and expecting him to be some perfected warrior. Once he’s a part of our military, our generals will teach him the more complex parts of battle, anyway, I simply see he’s ready to be considered a part of our ranks.ā€ ā€œA part of our WHAT!?ā€
The three men quickly turned to find their sister Camilla standing by the entrance. She stood tall, even tall in her heeled boots. She wore the armor of a wyvern knight, but she didn’t let military status stop her from adding a bit of flare to her outfit. A tiara of thin, black metal sat in her dark purple hair. A dark purple cape sat short on her shoulders and thin fabric hung from her waist. She put a lot of work into her appearance and normally she would make that the first thing people noticed when she entered a room, but today she entered with an aura of rage. ā€œAre you saying you want to put Corrin, OUR LITTLE BROTHER, who’s still recovering from MEMORY LOSS on a BATTLEFIELD?! Do you have any idea how dangerous that is? You too can defend yourselves but your older and more trained, you want to rip Corrin right out of quarantine and toss him on the front lines?!ā€ Camilla was a very caring sister and loved her siblings deeply, despite how the situation at hand showed that. Corrin couldn’t remember his time at the castle, but he knew his siblings were raised almost entirely by nannies and castle staff. Camilla, the second oldest in the family, wanted to fill a sort of parental role for her siblings. As such, she was the front line of defense from anything she thought would hurt them. She had always said the world was harsh and that she wanted to help protect her family from that, whether that show in playing and spending time with the siblings as children or lecturing them on rules and what not to do.
Xander stepped forward, ā€œRelax Camilla. We’re simply saying we think he’s ready for more serious training and maybe a role at one of our sides.ā€ Leo cut in, ā€œBesides, he’s been learning how to fight for quite a while now. What did you think would happen, he’d simply practice in this fortress forever? We need his skills in...ā€ Leo trailed off as he noticed Camilla’s soul-penetrating glare at him. ā€œAnd what if he gets hurt,ā€ said Camilla, ā€œhe’s already suffering from his memory loss. What if the battlefield worsens that?ā€ A young girl’s voice startled Corrin. ā€œIf he gets hurt, then I’ll HEAL HIM!ā€ Corrin turned behind him to be quickly met by Elise, his youngest sister, jump directly into his arms.
Corrin grabbed her quickly, having barely any time to process her presence. ā€œHaha! I caught you in surprise? I missed you Corrin!ā€ The young girl hopped back down to the ground, Corrin still trying to balance himself from her attack. Elise was a short girl, even with the small heals on her riding boots. She didn’t really wear armor as much as she wore a short black and white dress with pink accents trailing around it. Her hair was put in two long pony tails that she had adorned with ribbons. ā€œCome on,ā€ shouted the young girl, ā€œwe’re all going to Castle Krakenburg, right?!ā€ Corrin was taken back by this, ā€œWait, you mean... I seriously get to leave with you guys?ā€ Xander stepped in, ā€œWell, I said I came to see if you were ready, did I not? If you can fight a war, surely you’re healthy enough to move back home, right?ā€
Corrin was beaming as he prepared his things. Gunter and Jakob would be traveling alongside Corrin, Felicia begged to come too but her sister insisted it was better if the 2 stayed behind to take the rest of Corrin’s things to the castle, as the fortress would now be left entirely and repurposed into an actual military base once all the moving was done. Corrin rushes down to the stables after packing, ready to pick everything into the carriage. There he ran into Lilith, the stable girl at the fortress. She was a young girl, just about the same age as Corrin. She wore a blue dress that was always slightly dirty from her work. She kept her long blue hair in a bonnet, letting her braid run down and sit on her shoulder. The fishtail braid ended in a streak of red hair taht blended seamlessly with her blue hair and matched the girl’s scarlet eyes. When Corrin was young he always thought her hair was magic to loom the way it did, even to this day he didn’t quite understand how she dyed it that way. Corrin has met Lilith one day when he was young, curiously exploring lesser known parts of the fortress. He had stumbled into the stables to find her. Corrin loves having someone his exact age with him in the castle and the 2 quickly became good friends.
ā€œI’m happy for you,ā€ exclaimed Lilith, wiping a tear from her face. ā€œYou’ve been stuck in here for so long, I’m just... happy you finally get to leave like you dreamed.ā€ ā€œWell im happy too, I simply hope I see you again at the castle. Will you be relocating to the stables there, Lilith?ā€ Lilith hung her head at Corrin’s question. ā€œI’m... not sure, honestly. This fortress is getting redone or torn down entirely, so I can’t stay here...ā€
ā€œHow about I ask father to let you work there?ā€ Corrin beamed at the idea, trying to cheer his friend up. ā€œFather hasn’t seen me in so long, we’re sure to bond once we get there. You’re good at your job, I don’t see why he would turn me down.ā€ Lilith was shocked Corrin would suggest the idea. ā€œOh, no I can’t ask that of you! That’s too much, I’ll just see what I can do. I’ll write to you if I find anything out about what I’m doing, okay? Well just keep in touch until I see you again.ā€ Corrin was a bit upset she turned his idea down, but he didn’t let it bother him too much. ā€œOkay, I’ll miss you.ā€ ā€œOOHHH, CORRIN, IS THIS YOUR GIRLFRIEND?!ā€ Both Lilith and Corrin jumper at Elise’s voice, neither having noticed the girl. ā€œNo, no no no... nothing like that at all,ā€ explained Lilith with an awkward smile. ā€œAlright, whateeeevvverrrr you saaaaayyyyyyy~ā€ Elise trailed off, playfully teasing the 2 as they boarded the carriage.
The ride to the castle wasn’t as long as Corrin had expected, but the anticipation weighted heavy through the ride. Corrin was surprised to see the castle, it hadn’t looked anything like what he expected. It was massive, but it was suspended above a huge hole and ran through said hole. Bridges were scattered across the hole like a spider’s web, the whole sight was jarring to say the least. According to Leo, the castle had been built in a defensive position to trouble infantry invaders. The hole itself was part of an old mine and was connected to a tunnel system that ran all through Nohr, but the mine itself had been used up. The fact that the country could’ve used up enough ore to leave a mine this large... just how limited were the resources?
The castle itself was grand, but Corrin had trouble taking it all in. The palace was crowded with military staff and soldiers, ballrooms and halls were filled with weapons and armor. These details were much less common the deeer into the castle the group ventured, but they seemed to consume the first few floors and outer rim of the castle. Corrin halted suddenly when his siblings had stopped at a set of large doors. Magnificent and adorned in the pattern of roses and their thorny stems, this must had been the door to the throne room. Xander began speaking with an oddly dressed man at the entrance, who shortly after slithered behind the doors, not before shooting a glance at Corrin. He wore odd robes and a cape of black feathers. He had a metal headpiece atop his greasy black hair, the headpiece leading down into a theatrical mask that covered half the man’s face, but not enough to cover his grin.
ā€œIago.ā€ Stated Camilla, almost as if she knew exactly what Corrin was thinking about, ā€œhe’s the 1st Mage General of Nohr, our main strategist and Father’s right hand man.ā€ As Camilla finished explaining, Elise stepped in and whispered to Corrin, ā€œI don’t like him. He’s always rude and snobby, not to mention creepy. Father trusts him, though, but I try to avoid him.ā€ Corrin nodded at Elise’s warning and took note. If Elise had truly disliked the guy then there must be good reason, but Corrin didn’t want to write him off just yet. Father had enough reason to trust him, after all...
Iago slipped back through a small opening in the doors and turned to face Xander. ā€œKing Garon is ready to see you.ā€ He glanced at Corrin once again, ā€œMy Prince Corrin, it is an honor to see you healthy once again.ā€ The man bowed slightly, his grin remaining smeared upon his face. ā€œI have visited you at the fortress quite a few times, but I doubt you remember. I was leading the treatment of your memory loss. I do believe my mages and I have come quite close to-ā€œ The man’s smile faded as Gunter stepped out from behind Corrin. ā€œI do believe the prince will be seeing His Majesty now, correct?ā€ Gunter’s deep, accented voice boomed at the sorcerer, Iago in turn showed extreme discomfort, contorting his face the way one might look at seeing a large insect in their food. ā€œ... very well, Gunter. Right this way please.ā€ The tension from... whatever that confrontation was left the air in the room hot and uncomfortable, Corrin quickly stepped into the throne room alongside his siblings as Iago had opened the door and ushered them in. Corrin wanted to ask Gunter if he knew about Iago, but it would have to wait.
Corrin stepped into the throne room. It was a large oval, velvet carpet leading straight from the door to the large throne and the marble stairway to it. The walls held the same design of thorned vines as the door, making it feel like the dark room was being strangled by the vines for whatever life it may have had left in it. The ceiling was high and past some hanging metal chandeliers, their was an ingraving of... some kind facing directly down on the throne. It was a stone man with long hair falling from his robes, his arms stretched down as if it were going to swoop the king out of his throne at any moment. Corrin was too busy looking around to realize his siblings and company had all taken a knee in front of the throne and Corrin quickly joined them. He took a peak up at the throne to see his father, King Garon. An older man with pale skin, hair and beard white with streaks of black. His black metal crown blended in with the heavy armor that he wore, the man looked like a living shadow. He was staring directly at Corrin, all the boy could hope was that the attention was due to their time apart and not his negligence to bow immediately upon entering. Corrin wanted to smile back, but the man let off a fearsome aura.
The group stood back to their feet as the man spoke. ā€œCorrin,ā€ boomed the king’s commanding voice, ā€œmy reports claim that your training has been progressing well and that you are able to fight. Is this true?ā€ Xander answered quickly, ā€œYes, fath-ā€œ ā€œWhom was I asking, Xander? Was it you?ā€ Garon’s voice felt like it had shook the castle itself, alongside shaking Corrin’s thoughts to his very core. Xander hesitates then answered obediently, ā€œNo, Father. My apologies.ā€ The man glanced at Corrin, signaling his brother to speak. ā€œYes, Father, my training has gone quite well and my memory has been holding up. I...ā€ Corrin had a million things he wanted to say when seeing his father for the first time in his memory, yet the king’s razor sharp glance felt like they had shot down most of those statements immediately. Corrin searches his head for words, any words, ā€œ-I’m very happy to see you again, Father. I would be honored to join you and my siblings in this castle and to fight for Nohr!ā€ Corrin’s enthusiasm looked extremely out of place amongst the dark setting and he quietly bit his lip before he could say anything else. He just wanted to speak to his father, why was there so much pressure here? Why did he feel so nervous, sweat forming along his palms and thoughts racing.
Garon broke the long silence. ā€œ...Very well. If you are ready to fight, then I will not waste your time. I have a mission I would like you to carry out, as a test of your abilities.ā€ Corrin was completely shocked, he could feel his siblings were just as surprised as he was, but they held their silence. ā€œO-okay! I will gladly carry out my mission, for Nohr.ā€ Corrin went back to biting his lip immediately. Tone down the country pride! Stop shouting ā€œfor Nohr!ā€... but would he look careless if he did otherwise? How was he to respond to-
Corrin halted his thoughts when he noticed Garon’s hand, outstretched to Corrin. He took this as a signal to approach, and felt bad for ignoring it as long as he did. He walked slowly and stood at the bottom step of the throne. Garon waved his hand downward, purple mist forming after his hand. Garon sat in his throne in complete silence as the dark dogged thickened then dispersed, leaving a sword hanging in the air where the mist had thickened. Corrin knew Nohr had talented mages, but he was not aware his own father could be one.
ā€œThis blade. It is Ganglaria. A blade infused with magic of a land destroyed, a god forgotten. Wield this divine blade and seek your fate, in the name of your people. I bestow this blade to you, my son.ā€ Garon’s words swirled around Corrin’s head, in one ear and out the other. He couldn’t take his eyes off this sword, Ganglaria. It had a curved hilt wrapped in dark cloth, but the everything else... The hilt ran up to a cross piece where the metal of the blade would start, and some metal could be seen, but it was as if rock had taken form over the blade. As if lava itself had been poured over the metal and left to harden naturally, the blade was covered in a thick, black stone. Vines of purple energy ran through the stone, pulsing through to swirl at a large, purple circle in the blade’s center. The edges of the stone were dull, but the purple energy burst out of the sides, as if this energy would do the cutting. The blade was intricate and complicated, messy yet breath taking. Corrin grabbed the hilt from where it hung in the air and held the sword, taking in the energy and power it sent through his arm.
ā€œFather, thank you. This is magnificent. You saved this blade for me?ā€
Garon sat back in reply, ā€œYes, my son. Ganglaria is a divine weapon, intertwined with the destiny of Nohr. It’s power is comparable to Xander’s blade, Siegfried, Leo’s tome, Brynhildr, and the axe Aurgelmir, who’s wielder will accompanying you on your mission.ā€ Corrin glanced back at Leo and Xander who were were looking at Ganglaria, definitely puzzled. The statement of the axe Aurgelmir caught the attention of Camilla. Had father planned to give her a divine weapon and rank her alongside Leo and Xander? Corrin couldn’t picture Camilla fighting, but she was the type to devote herself fully to anything she set her mind to. If she had wished to fight, Corrin had no doubt she would have trained twice as hard as he did himself.
ā€œAlongside Aurgelmir’s wielder, I wish you to be accompanied by two retainers. It is customary for each member of the royal family to have 2 retainers at their side in battle for protection. As such, I have arranged for Gunter to be officially recognized as your retainer alongside a new knight who will be joining you.ā€ Gunter and Jakob both looked surprised. Corrin would rather not leave without Jakob, but he was only his butler. It would be dangerous to lead him into a combat zone. Garon continued, ā€œAs such, Iago; please bring in those 3 soldiers from earlier.ā€ Iago nodded and walked off, returning with 3 newcomers. The first was a man Corrin recognized immediately, a cavalier named Silas. He had trained at the Northern Fortress and become friends with Corrin, before being transferred back to the castle. Corrin smiles at his old friend who smiled right back, they would catch up later. ā€œSilas will be accompanying you as your retainer. The other two...ā€ Garon motioned to the man standing next to Silas. He was tall and extremely muscular, his bald head covered with scars. He wore...very little besides armor around his neck, shoulders, elbows, and knees. Leather straps of his armor sat on his bare chest and a fur pelt hung around his waist from a belt, covering some skin but leaving most of his thighs exposed. The man wore a twisted smirk on his square-shaped head. The man’s appearance was. It was a lot to take in for Corrin, who found himself examining the man. Corrin knee it was rude to stare but the man’s eyes were shooting daggers right back at Corrin. A terrifying, half naked man with an axe staring you down was intimidating, the odd axe didn’t help. It was made of dark red stone or an awkward, bulky shape. Red viens of energy pulsed through the axe. ā€œThis is Hanz, one of my generals. He is one of my best and as a reward for his accomplishments, he is the wielder of Aurgelmir, Ganglaria’s twin weapon.ā€
Camilla’s head hung a little lower at this statement. Why was this weapon given to a random general and not the princess? Was Camilla truly so much less powerful than her brothers? Xander was a legendary commander and Leo had mastered tactics, so weapons of legend seemed exclusive to those both of importance and power, yet 2 more had just been given to a general and Corrin, who had no real combat experience...
ā€œIt is an honor to meet you, milord.ā€ Hanz’ voice was deep and gruff, it felt like a growl more than a sentence, but despite the fearsome looks he did seem to mean it. ā€œAnd Lord Xander, I’m here to introduce my final companion.ā€ Hanz waved forth the woman who followed him and Silas in. Her armor was similiar to Silas’ yet vastly different. Silas wore black armor, as did most Nohrian soldiers Corrin saw on his way in. It fit the young man, though a bit menacing for his kind face, but it fit with the army and oddly matched Silas’ silver hair, which Corrin had known for Silas to style in silly ways, usually setting his bangs up and back like a wave. This woman, however, stuck out in the ranks. She had the same shoulder pieces and gauntlets as Silas, yet her’s were colored a bright gold. This matched her white and gold blouse, boots, and riding pants (yet not the black... tutu she had around her waist, somewhat covering her sheathed blade.) She also had gold ribbons in her blue hair. It was a vibrant blue, only hair dye could create that and only the richer nobles had hair dye. The ribbons tied the electric blue hair into pig tails that she had fluffed up, the blue hair fading down into the ends she dyed a vibrant pink. Her blue bangs hung over her face and covered in eye partially, though her golden pupils still showed when she smiled at the group before her. The outfit was interesting, Corrin could appreciate it more than Hanz’ fur skirt, but it showed off two important things: this woman held high political and social status, and she clearly didn’t take her military duties as seriously as others. She waved around enthusiastically before croaking in a worn, somewhat lost voice: ā€œHi there! My names Peri!ā€
ā€œThat’s right,ā€ began Hanz, ā€œand Lord Xander, she is your new retainer.ā€ Xander hesitates before replying, with a sense of sarcasm and sass Corrin had never seen his brother show before: ā€œShe is my WHAT!?ā€ ā€œRelax, Lord Xander, I hand picked her myself. She’s a cavalier of extreme skill, His Majesty observed and approved of her skill. I believe she’ll work quite well with you and that other new retainer, that mercenary fellow. And she’s a noble, if you care about status.ā€ ā€œA noble? Of what house?ā€ Hanz began his answer before Peri stepped in; ā€œOh don’t worry, you wouldn’t know my family, I’m the last one alive! They were murdered before you would’ve met them!ā€ Peri exclaimed this information excitedly, not seeming to care if her life story made others uncomfortable. Garon paid no mind, despite how strict he was when it came to Corrin and his siblings’ behavior. Peri continued; ā€œYeah, so my family was killed so I killed their killer! And that’s how I learned to fight, so don’t worry, I have pleeeenty of experience slaughtering enemies, running my blade through their intestines~, all that-ā€œ
Camilla was upset over her weapon, Xander was furious over his new retainer being forced upon him, Leo seemed to still be contemplating Ganglaria and the mission father planned for Corrin, and Corrin was simply lost in the spiral of information he had been thrown into in the throne room. Xander seemed ready to lash out entirely on Hanz before Garon spoke up once again. ā€œNow, Corrin, Hanz will walk you through the preparation for your mission. You are to scout out a fort on the Hoshidan border. We wish to seize it if possible, due to its position it could be a great aid to our troops attacking Hoshido. If it is indeed abandoned, you are to contact a small squad in the area who will set station there, and return to the castle to reinforce it. Is this clear?ā€ Corrin nodded as he processed the details of his mission. ā€œYes Father, may the blade you gifted me aid my mission.ā€

Good news: got a job. Bad news: busy as hell. I’m working on the fates rewrite. My plan from here on is to have it atleast somewhat ready in advance rather than write, post, write, post, etc. so yeah I haven’t updated but my hope is that once I get the ball rolling again it’ll keep going. I’m determined to stick with thsi rather than just drop it cuz ā€œugh I’m busyā€ like I do seriously want to do thsi so Ya Boi Ain’t Stopping. Also update I’ve signed up for some writing based classes for senior year next year so I do plan to like genuinely get better and hopefully go to college for something like this. My school does offer a journalism class and I’m taking that and kinda basing my roster around English as much as possible so that’s hype. I’ll be back when I update that story but know I Will Be Back! I’m not Dropping This Right After I Start!

Fire Emblem Fates: Revised pt 1
The beginning of my attempts to run with fate’s story and try and make something of this game world with such infamously bad writing... sounds difficult but I’m willing to try :)
Corrin tried to look around. ā€œWhere... where is this?ā€ Everything was a bright blur. Above him was a bright blue sea dotted with white, a sky he hadn’t recognized but enjoyed nonetheless. The sun shine brightly, Corrin had to strain his eyes to make out what was around him. The ground beneath him felt soft, lush grass. Flowers poked up from the field of green as did large trees, decorated with bright pink petals. Corrin has never seen such a place, atleast that he could remember. Despite the unfamiliarity, he felt calm here. It was calm, he could lay back and rest.
ā€œCorrin!ā€ A voice called in the distance, catching the young man off guard. He wanted to call back, but he couldn’t. He could stand up to his feet. The meadow was comfortable, ā€œnot such a bad place to be stuckā€ he thought. ā€œI... like it here.ā€ The voice called again. It was a woman, her voice soft and kind. ā€œCorrin, lunch is ready! Where are you?ā€ The woman chucked as she spoke, like she was playing hide-and-seek with Corrin. Such a thing would normally unfitting for someone of Corrin’s age, but here that felt... natural. ā€œMy age... how-ā€œ Corrin’s thought drifted as he examined himself. He felt... smaller. Younger, even.
ā€œOh, there you are.ā€ Corrin spun his head towards the voice. This must be the woman, he assumed. She was tall, the bright sun obscured Corrin’s view of her face. No matter how hard he strained his eyes, the woman was shrouded in a blanket of warmth, far too thick to be visible. ā€œLet me see you. Who are you?ā€ Corrin asked, his thoughts rolling off his mouth before he even thought to consider his words. The woman reached her hand out towards Corrin, still on the ground. He could barely make out here hand. It was small, adorned with a simple ring on her finger. He was busy examining the hand when it touched Corrin’s arm and the boy nearly leaped back. Her hand, unlike every other part of her presence, was cold as ice. It felt as though he had been stabbed by the chill that shot through his body and forced the man to prop himself upward.
Everything was different. The bright sunlight was gone in an instant, replaced by the darkness of a torchlit chamber. The soft grass was replaced with cotton sheets of a bed, the warmth of light simply a matching blanket covering his lower body. Lastly, Corrin looked to where the woman had touched his arm. The ringed finger was now a gloved hand, its owner jumped back immediately.
ā€œL-lord Corrin! I-I’m so sorry, you weren’t waking up and I got worried so I thought I’d use my ice affinity and- I didn’t mean to scare you!ā€ The woman cowered at Corrin’s bedside. Felicia, the shy, pink-haired maid of the Northern Fortress. She was one of Corrin’s closest companions for as long as he could remember, yet she never got over her anxious demeanor around him (or anyone, for that matter.) ā€œNo, Felicia, it’s okay. I was just... in an odd dream.ā€ Corrin attempted to calm the maid down as she fretted over waking him up so suddenly. ā€œUhh, I ruined the dream you were having, didn’t I!ā€ Felicia threw her hand on her head, feeling guilty for what she saw as an inconvenience.
ā€œCalm yourself, Felicia. He has training with the Prince today, he had to wake up on time.ā€ The voice consoling Felicia came from in front of Corrin’s bed. Another maid, her blue hair pulled back in 2 long braids. She fiddled with something on the dresser as she spoke, paying no mind to Corrin as she consoled her sister. Flora, another maid of the fortress, much more preserved and calm then her twin counterpart. Felicia perked up at this remark. ā€œOh, yes! I nearly forgot about that!ā€ Flora let out a sigh hearing this, Felicia didn’t seem to notice it as she turned her attention to Corrin. ā€œWell, time to get ready! You don’t want to keep your brother waiting, do you? Jakob laid at your clothes over there, Gunter readied your armor and sword so they should be...-ā€œ ā€œBlade is at the training grounds by the entrance, armor is by the exit of your lodgings on the way to the roof.ā€ Flora cut in before her sister could begin guessing at what she forgot. ā€œ-Yes, yes, uh where Flora said they’ll be. Now get up, unless you need me to use my ice ability again!ā€ Felicia joked as she pushed Corrin out of bed.
Corrin senses were still wearing off from... whatever it was he saw in his dream. The dark sky of Nohr outside Corrin’s window made him wish to return to his dream even more, even in the peak of day the sky would remain dark and intimidating. Corrin shook off his wish for more sleep as he got ready, brushing his hair down and getting dressed. ā€œI know I need to get up to train, but trying to freeze me over as I slept is a bit harshā€ remarked Corrin, joking with his close friend. ā€œDamnit Felicia, I told you not to use that ability anymoreā€ the accented voice cut through the room and cold air. Jakob, Corrin’s butler. He and Felicia were the closest company Corrin had, but that didn’t stop him from lashing out at Felicia when she screwed up. He took his job seriously and made a show of devoting himself to Corrin, much to Corrin’s dismay and wish to be on friendly terms, rather than act as ā€œmaster and servantā€. ā€œI ask you to wake Corrin up, and you can’t even do that without making a problem! I get you have the Ice Tribe to blame for this, but other people, people from normal places, don’t take very fondly to freezing temperatures!ā€
Corrin finished getting ready and joined his company on the walk to the training grounds. ā€œDespite your rude awakening, how did you rest Master Corrin?ā€ inquired Jakob, showing more respect than Corrin wanted but was too tired to scold him for. ā€œI slept well. I had such an odd dream, though. I felt like I couldn’t wake up from it, but I didn’t really want to. It felt... comforting in a way.ā€ Corrin went on to describe the details to the Butler and maids as they walked. Felicia took interest in every detail. ā€œWow, milord! That’s so weird! I can’t think of any places like that in Nohr, and who was the lady?! Does she resemble anyone in the fortress, I mean who else do you see here? There’s gotta be something about-ā€œ Flora shot Felicia a glance and she quoted down. ā€œDon’t think too much about it, you’ll get hurt training if you go in with too much on your mindā€ instructed Flora, serious as always. Corrin and Flora had always been kind to each other, but there was always a sort of... tension, Corrin guessed, between them. She made sure to never cross the line between professionalism and friendliness, unlike her 2 companions had.
The group of 4 had lived in the Northern Fortress for years, having very little contact with the rest of Nohr and only casually aquatinted with the other staff members, who acted similar to Flora if she didn’t have the sister to force her to be less tense. Corrin was a Nohrian Prince, or so he was told. He suffered from severe memory loss and was treated regularly by talented Nohrian mages and doctors, yet still held little to no memory of his life before being put in the fortress when he was roughly 10. Due to this condition, King Garon, Corrin’s father and ruler of Nohr, found it best to seclude Corrin in the fortress to avoid over exposure to stress as well as being much easier to observed by doctors. Corrin’s 4 siblings, Xander, Leo, Camilla, and Elise, visited Corrin regularly. According to them, the royal castle was turned into a type of military headquarters and that it wasn’t the place to keep someone suffering from such an illness. Corrin had accepted he would have to recover before seeing the world behind fortress walls, including the royal castle.
Castle grounds had been turned into training grounds for soldiers, entire sections of the castle made into sleeping areas for military officials. Dining halls and ballrooms were converted to meeting halls used to discuss strategy. The entire country of Nohr had been consumed by a war with their neighboring country, Hoshido. Corrin knew little about the country, only that they held an over abundance of resources that they refused to trade with Nohr. They held immense military might, the fighting had reached so far that even members of the royal family had been given extensive combat training and given high ranking military positions. As such, Nohr’s royals did the same. This included Corrin and his siblings. Despite his illness, Corrin trained with his eldest brother, Xander, whenever he visited. Xander was the strongest general in Nohr, a Paladin of immense strength and stood as an iron wall, impossible for foes to take down. Camilla had said she was a Malig Knight, axe weilding fighters who ride in wyverns, tame-able dragons who flew all over the dark Nohrian skies. She didn’t talk much about fighting, however, she spent all the time she could get with her siblings trying to enjoy it and seemed like she wanted to protect Corrin and Elise from the war more than see them fight on the battlefield. Leo was a Dark Knight and had attempted to teach Corrin the ways of his powerful magic several times. He had eventually given up and became a sparring partner for the ways of the sword, saying Corrin held more potential with a blade than a tome. Elise, the youngest of Nohr’s royals, had the least battle experience. She was a troubadour and took great pride in her ability to heal wounded allies. She was still too young to fight as a leader, but she was an energetic girl and a person of the people. She would undoubtedly make a good tactician or even a mage knight if she put more effort into studying battle strategy (or so Leo would say, nagging her to follow in his footsteps.)
ā€œXander, hello!ā€ Corrin yelled as he reached the training grounds on the fortress roof. He waved down his older brother, who was busy talking to Corrin’s personal guard and mentor, Gunter. Gunter was an older man, but he held more battle experience than any other knight Nohr. Xander stood tall, dark red and black armor dressing his muscular build. His face was pale and serious, he wasn’t the type of man to joke around often and his appearance reflected that. A thin crown of twisted; black metal sat neatly atop Xander’s wavy blonde hair. The crown prince showed his title and rank in every bit of his appearance, a look truly befitting someone of Xander’s status. He smiled softly at Corrin before picking up a bronze sword. He spoke as Corrin approached closer; ā€œGunter here was telling me how your training has been progressing. I’d very much like to see how strong you’ve grown with my own eyes, if you will.ā€ ā€œWell, a sword fight is certainly an interesting way to greet your little brother,ā€ responded Corrin, with a small hint of joking with Xander who, to anyone but his siblings, was the last man on earth you would joke around with. ā€œBut I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to show you the results of my training. Alright, let’s go!ā€ Xander smiled at Corrin’s eagerness for battle. ā€œGood, I’m pleased to hear that. Leo will be observing our fight, he knows more about strategy and skills than anyone else, so he will be our judge.ā€ Xander’s smile faded as he spoke a more serious note. ā€œFather is pleased with your progress, but you are an adult now, Corrin. If you are not ready for battle yet, I fear you never will grow to that level.ā€ The air of fun and games had left Corrin immediately, Xander’s words like a punch to his gut. Xander smiled once again when he noticed this. ā€œMotivated, are we? Come, fight like your life depends on it. Show me how hard you will fight for Nohr. Prove you can be the people’s champion in a war.ā€ Corrin readied his blade. The group of attendants, maids, workers, teachers, and friends that surrounded Corrin faded out as they walked off into the fortress. It was now only Corrin and Xander, Leo watching from a distance as he determined Corrin’s fate as a soldier. Corrin glanced off the roof, the dark sky covering the Nohrian kingdom. He saw a ray of sun in the distance, the sun that hid behind Nohrian mountains and refused to show its face to Corrin as he sat in the dark. ā€œI will fight,ā€ Corrin stated to himself. ā€œI will leave this fortress and fight to protect Nohr.ā€
Corrin couldn’t help the thought as he saw the ray of sun shining beyond the Nohrian border. He thought back of his dream. That world of sunlight and warmth, the woman he saw. They had to be out there somewhere. And Corrin certainly wouldn’t find them in this dark fortress. If he must prove his strength to see them someday, enjoy these luxuries with his siblings by his side, then he will prove his strength.

I’ve been really thinking and I’ve wanted to do a kind of rewriting of fire emblem fates but I wanna kinda put this post out there in the tag before hand out of curiosity cuz I have some questions about like how I’d right it
Would people be actually interested in this?
I wanted to do kind of a first person perspective from Corrin (I plan to make Corrin like. More interesting so don’t worry about that) so I’m wondering if like that would be preferred or like a script type of format of ā€œCharacter Name: Lines *action*ā€ but I’m leaning towards a first person book type narrative like a visual novel but... not visual
The order over whether I do conquest or birthright first. Conquest first makes more sense to me cuz Corrin goes birthright second after seeing how messed up Nohr is (not like. Directly comparing but y’all will see what I mean when I actually write it cuz I b planning ( ͔° ĶœŹ– ͔°)
Male or Female Corrin? Cuz if I do male I’m leaning towards makin him date Niles but that’s not mandatory
Kids or nah? I wanna include Ephemeral Bonds in the story but I feel like it’s better if they aren’t involved in like the main story cuz ~magic time traveling kids~ doesn’t work half as well in fates as in awakening
Stick to canon/possible marriage options or like I go whole hog and like make Benny and Keaton date like I can go self indulgent as HELL with this but that might not be for the best so like input on that from a reader’s perspective would be nice
So like if ur interested or have input I’m more than interested in hearing it :)

Fire Emblem Fates Conquest: Sakura’s Story Part 1
Sakura’s defeat and capture in late game Conquest is honestly a really interesting part of the story of the Hosidan royals in fates and I wanted to explore Sakura’s side of that
Sakura sat herself up from the cold stone floor. She hadn’t remembered falling asleep, only lying on the ground in a stream of her tears. She must’ve worn herself out until she fell asleep, she thought. Everything about Sakura felt horrible. Sleeping on the stone floor of her cell didn’t help, her back and muscles ached. Sakura was still covered in wounds, bruises and cuts from weapons, burn marks from enemy mages, the sore ache of being struck with an enemy dagger that must’ve been coated in some poison or the other. Sakura has no memory of tending to these wounds, she had g noticed them until now, but thy were bandaged and covered nonetheless.
Despite having just woke up, Sakura felt tired and worn from her battle and her crying, a sore throat from yelling as she was dragged from her army and comrades. Sharp edges of Sakura’s shattered armor poked into her skin, blood stained her white dress, her hair was an indescribable mess from what she could feel of it. It was a wave of pain that Sakura was forced to face upon waking up, though she wanted nothing more than to escape to her sleep once again.
ā€œOh. You’re up.ā€ Sakura hadn’t noticed the guard on the opposite side of the prison bars. A Nohrian soldier, slightly familiar. She stood tall in her heels, though she was slouched carelessly against the stone wall. She wore very little armor besides gauntlets and a neck brace. She was combing through her long blonde hair as she spoke, too busy picking at her split ends to give Sakura much of her attention. An absurdly large axe was propped against the wall next to her, a stark contrast to the woman who was dressed as if she had just arrived from a night on the town. Short shorts and a tight tank top, pure white and blue like the ribbon in the woman’s styled hair. Sakura wouldn’t have guessed she was a soldier if she hadn’t remembered this same woman as the one who dragged her, kicking and screaming, to her cell.
ā€œPrincess Elise came by while you were asleep, she patched up your battle wounds. She had quite the job, your defense made Corrin’s ā€˜no kill’ orders pretty damn difficult.ā€
Sakura took in the woman’s words at her own pace. Elise... helped her? Corrin ordered the enemies to be spared? A rush hit Sakura when she thought about this as it so hardly contrasted the words that still rung deeply in her head. Garon’s deep, chilling voice, shooting orders through the battlefield: ā€œKill them all, leave no Hoshidans alive!ā€ The words sent Sakura into a frenzy when she first heard them. She had demanded Yukimura allow her to lead the defensive stand, she shouted and kicked and resisted with everything she had as the blonde soldier and a knight dragged her away at Corrin’s command. Sakura’s status had let her live as she watched Nohrian generals line up the citizens she vowed to protect, preparing for a mass execution at the king’s hand.
ā€œWho else was captured?ā€ Sakura’s sudden question caught the woman off guard, she finally gave the distressed princess her attention. ā€œWe took who we could before Garon issued executions, Prince Xander and the royals aren’t exactly in love with Garon’s constant killing sprees, they have us soldiers save whoever we can. I believe we got your retainers, the little sword master girl made quite the commotion when we tried to heal her up. The Pegasus knight has been quiet but he’s recovering well. The strategist demanded he... be the first to face Garon. Honor as the leader I suppose. He gave us time to bring in a lot of other soldiers, he... saved a lot of people.ā€
Sakura has to take a moment to let the information sink in. Yukimura... he had been around since before Sakura was born. He was always close to the royal family and Sakura had spent much time with him helping with the war effort. Sacrificing himself for his troops to escape was just the kind of thing he would do. It was understandable but it was still impossible to believe as the truth. Sakura couldn’t imagine he had... died. The idea felt bitter in her mind, the young princess wanted nothing more than to spit the terrible concept out of her head.
The reality had finally hit Sakura. She tried to hold back tears but she couldn’t help it. She could’ve fought harder. Trained more. Had Ryoma been there, or Takumi, or Hinoka... had it been anyone besides herself, Yukimura might have lived. All those innocent soldiers would have lived. The war could be over, but now King Garon blazed a trail of blood and terror across her country. His axe would cross the eyes of the citizens Sakura had sworn to protect, just as it did her soldiers.
The blonde woman sat awkwardly, searching for words to say. ā€œ...Corrin and the royal family... they care for the Hoshidan people, they don’t want anyone else to die. They’ve been making us soldiers spare people this whole damn war. What’s done is done and that’s on Garon.ā€
Sakura stared at the woman. ā€œYou say that... as if your king were your own enemy.ā€
The woman smiled a bit. ā€œI listen to the royals, they want a way to stop all this.ā€ She looked around to see if there were any soldiers in an earshot. Her voice was lower now. ā€œI don’t like Garon. I’m fighting for Corrin for my own reasons, but I’ve lived under Garon. My family, my whole damn town is poor as dirt, I don’t owe him shit. I’ll fight for my people but I ain’t against the royals if they decide Garon needs to be stopped.ā€
Sakura couldn’t take her eyes off the woman. This woman had just openly committed treason. It doesn’t matter if she acts on it, you can’t simply say things about the Nohrian royalty like that and not expect to be executed. Sakura had supposed that was why, the princess had only seen the political side of this war. Seeing nobles and royals who had power on the line, of course they want to protect their people but... this woman WAS the people. She experienced Nohrian life first hand, had all civilians lived in Nohr like this? Constant fear of their own government? Sakura had heard Ryoma mention a Nohrian resistance...
The woman flipped her hair behind her shoulders. ā€œWell, hope that comforted you cuz I’m dead if anyone else heard that.ā€ She peeked around a corner. ā€œOh, yo! Benny!ā€ Sakura couldn’t see around the corner but she heard heavy metal clamoring against the cold stone, echoing down the hall. A tall man stepped into Sakura’s line of sight. He was clad in heavy, jet-black armor. His hair was short and blonde like the girl’s, shaved nearly level besides a small stripe in the center; a type of Nohrian style, she assumed. The man towered over the girl, his face was dark and covered in battle scars. He was intimidating in every sense of the word, yet he smiled gently when he looked at Sakura. It was... oddly reassuring to the young girl.
ā€œBenny, you hear anything I said a minute ago?ā€
The man responded in a deep, rough voice that matched the rest of his appearance. ā€œUh... no? Why, you weren’t talking about me right? Charlotte, answer me.ā€
The woman, Charlotte apparently, threw her head back with a smile. ā€œNope, nothing about you, just discussing our great and glorious king Garon.ā€
Benny nodded silently, he seemed to know exactly what Charlotte meant. Sakura could only presume he understood the woman’s feelings about Nohr. Benny continued, sweeping the previous conversation under the rug: ā€œPrincess Sakura, Princess Elise asked me to inform her when you woke up. I’ll go tell her now... if that’s okay with you, of course.
The man was calm, comforting even. The pure fact that he had asked Sakura her permission to get Elise meant so much. Beaten half to death, cried herslef the other half of the way, from an emotional Hell and back, she was finally being treated as... another human. She took a long look at the man, he had to be the other man who carried her to the cell alongside Charlotte. She remembered he was notably less rough with the princess, Charlotte being notably impatient. Her rant on Nohr must’ve been some sort of way, in her eyes, to apologize for being rough on the girl, but Sakura didn’t hold it against her. Had the soldiers not dragged Sakura to the cell, she likely would have died alongside Yukimura.
Sakura wiped the tears from her eyes and looked at Benny. ā€œY-yes, you can get Princess Elise. Thank you.ā€

Fire emblem fates: Saizo/Niles S-Support (fan made)
Did I plan a part 2 to the original post: https://leftherian-archipeligo.tumblr.com/post/171093181159/fire-emblem-fates-saizoniles-fanmade-support
No, I did not. However, I really liked writing that and I’m gay so I’m gonna write an S-Support for them. Link above has my original post for their C-A supports so hit that up, or just visit my blog it should be just before this post
S-Support
Saizo: Hello Niles. Here’s all the information I could find on that group.
Niles: Great, then we should be able to turn them over to the authorities soon. I’m sure Lord Ryoma will be quite proud of you, won’t he?~
Saizo: Cut That out, we’ve been over that. Anyway, yes he should be quite pleased with the result, as will Lord Leo. Can’t say I ever thought Nohr and Hoshidan royalty would be cooperating like this to stop crime, yet alone joining the same army.
Niles: Heh, we have found ourselves in quite the interesting spot of this war, following Corrin and all. Well I mostly just followed Lord Leo, you joined up with Corrin all on your own.
Saizo: I remember the day well. Attaining revenge for my father’s murder… it was a good day. Ironic it be the day that set me on my current path with this army.
Saizo: Anyway, back to the now: would you like to grab something to eat at the camp? You’ve worked hard on this mission, take a break.
Niles: Heh, well I’m honored. Saizo the Fifth, asking little old me to dinner? This is almost like a little date now, isn’t it?
Saizo: C-Cut That out.
Niles: Relax, I know the mighty Saizo is impervious to my flirting. You put up with my speech more than enough to remain unphased by it, that or your so focused on Ryoma that nobody else is good enough.
Saizo: Pah! I don’t need to put up with this. Come on, to camp.
Niles: Hm, finally fed up with my shenanigans? Color me impressed to break open that stone wall that is your composure.
Saizo: Hey, I’m always on guard, don’t even think about ever breaking me. The training of a ninja is- GAH! NILES!
Niles: Never off your guard huh? Finally able to snatch that cute little mask off your face, I’ve been waiting for that opportunity for a while now.
Saizo: G-give That back!
Niles: Just hold a moment, I’ll take my reward: I’ve never seen your full face and I feel I earned that pleasure.
Niles: Hm, why are you blushing so much? All my flirting finally get through to you?
Saizo: I am NOT blushing! Now I’ll have my mask back!
Niles: Why? Don’t want me seeing that pretty face of yours?
Saizo: …
Niles: Ohh~ even more blushing? Well now, if I didn’t know any better, I’d think you’d caught a little crush on me.
Saizo: …
Niles: Saizo, something the matter? If I’m making you uncomfortable then I can stop. My apologies.
Saizo: No I… No need to apologize.
Niles: Saizo, do you… actually like me?
Saizo: WHAT?! WHAT GAVE THAT IMPRESSION?!
Niles: I’ve known you for a good bit now, and I’ve never seen you this flustered. I must admit you’re quite cute like thi-
Saizo: S-saying things like that’s just making this worse! Gah, what the hell! M-maybe I do feel like that, what’s the big deal! Not like you don’t flirt with me constantly, why is it suddenly different just because I react?!
Niles: …Do you need a moment?
Saizo: N-no! I’m… yeah, I need a moment.
Niles: I understand, sit down. Feelings are a lot sometimes.
Saizo: Feelings? No, things like that don’t get to me. This must be something else, this… I’m not fond of this.
Niles: Unfond of what, exactly?
Saizo: I shouldn’t be harboring romantic feelings! There! Gah, you’re my ally. A member of the Nohrian army, and you’re my friend! Feeling... romantically about you isn’t appropriate at all!
Niles: ...
Niles: You are aware that feeling that way about someone is not abnormal, correct?
Saizo: Of course I know, I’ve dated before. I dated Kagero.
Niles: And you are uncomfortable because this is... different then your relationship with her, yes?
Saizo: Of course! N-not that there’s anything wrong with you! Of course there isn’t, you’re great and- GAH! I’m saying everything wrong aren’t I?
Niles: It’s Alright, I know how you feel. Not many people accept themselves easily. It’s hard to accept, but hiding feelings and suppressing them is no good either. Do that, bottle up all your emotions, and you just make a big mess of yourself when all those emotions overflow.
Saizo: Ugh, I hate this. I don’t mean I hate you- obviously I don’t, but this is odd and I have the feeling it’s wrong but-
Niles: Relax. Calm yourself before you try to talk.
Saizo: Right... I’m sorry. You don’t deserve to put up with this, I care for you I’m just... a mess.
Niles: Don’t worry, you aren’t a mess. Well, not half the mess I am atleast. In all honesty it’s still hard to imagine someone falling for me, though I can’t say I’m complaining that it happened to be you.
Saizo: What?
Niles: I like you, Saizo. I know I’m known to flirt but I don’t lie when complimenting people. I do find you cute of course, who wouldn’t, but after spending time with you I must say you won me over. Of course I never imagined you felt that way towards me. I joke about you and Ryoma but I never actually considered that you might-
Saizo: You... like me? The way I feel about you?
Niles: Of course I do, Saizo. Now look, you have me blushing like you were. I’m happy to hear you actually like me.
Saizo: Gods... this was... a lot to handle.
Niles: No worries. Say, why don’t we get that food we mentioned. Only difference is now it can actually be a date, if you want it to be of course.
Saizo: I would... like that. A lot. Thank you, Niles.
Niles: Don’t mention it, it’s my honor as much as it is yours. Now get over here, I don’t want to see you getting so emotional over yourself like that again, don’t put yourself down for being yourself.
Saizo: ... I understand. I have you so... I believe I’ll be fine with myself, knowing I’m not alone.
Niles: That’s good to hear. I’m surprised still, never expected you to be the emotional type at all, stone wall you are there.
Saizo: Trust me, I’m unshakable. Even if we are in a relationship, no man alive catches Saizo the Fifth off his guard. No emotions break through this steel fortress, no- NILES!
Niles: Well it’s nice to see that if your guard is down, it’s only with me. Caught this mask twice now. And if it’s alright with you, I’m more than happy seeing that cute face of yours without a mask to cover it up.
Saizo: Mask stays. On missions atleast. Maybe some exceptions since I’ve already put so much trust in you.
Niles: Heh, if that’s how you wish it I have no complaints. And I don’t believe you’ll be needing this mask of yours to eat, so we might as well get that food.
Saizo: Alright then, off to camp it is.

Fire emblem fates: Saizo/Niles fanmade support chain
Two characters I really like and I think they’d be... interesting interacting, to say the least. I’m sure other people have made this same support chain before but I personally haven’t seen anything so I’m just gonna hope I’m not copying anyone else here?? If this happens to be too close to anyone else’s you can tell me
C-Support
Saizo: (commandingly) Hey! Niles, correct?
Niles: Oh, hello there Saizo. Yes, I’m Niles. I don’t believe I’ve had the pleasure of talking to you off the battlefield before, may I ask what kind of momentous occasion would bring you to me?
Saizo: I have a job I need your assistance in.
Niles: I’m listening. May I ask what kind of ā€œjobā€ it is you need done? I’m skilled in quite a few things, you see...
Saizo: It’s serious, don’t get any ideas here. Milord Ryoma spoke to prince Leo, he said you may be able to help me gather intel on a Nohrian gang I’ve been following.
Niles: Oh, information is all you seek... Not as fun as what I had in mind but yes, if my lord asks it of me, I can be of assistance. Why are you sticking your nose into Nohrian crime though? That side of my great country is quite deep, I know it more than I’d like to, and sticking my neck out to reach back into that personal Hell of mine isn’t something I’d do for just anyone out of the kindness of my heart.
Saizo: Something tells me you’ll be alright. These criminals have been smuggling goods back and forth over Nohrian and Hoshidan borders, something both of our commanders would like taken care of, quietly if possible. My research brings evidence that this same group has gotten involved in crimes a bit darker than simply running black market deals. Everything you need to know is in my notes, I simply ask you follow up to confirm the connections I suspect and find a likely base of operations.
Niles: Wow, your notes are... detailed, to say the least. You expect me to go through all of this in my free time?
Saizo: I keep my notes orderly, you’ll live. And here’s a key list, I write in code occasionally. If you can’t break a code assume it’s intentional, some information is classified.
Niles: How the hell do you expect me to do this? Can’t you just give me some names and send me off. And I don’t believe we discussed me getting anything out of this.
Saizo: You want a reward? Based on how you reacted to me asking you, I had assumed the ā€œpleasure of my companyā€ would suffice. Alongside the rewarding sense of fulfillment one receives for doing their job in this army, of course.
Niles: Ow, you are quite cruel, aren’t you? I had assumed Hoshidans were incapable of such, living in your precious ā€œKingdom of Light and Peaceā€ and all, but clearly you’re some exception. I must say this an interesting change, I may even come to like it, given some time, hehe... But this dog does bite back, of course. Positive you still offer the ā€œpleasure of your companyā€ to little old me?
Saizo: Save the flattery. I need this job done, as do you, since your prince sent me here himself. Your tactics of overbearing flattery are to push me away I presume? That won’t work on me, so let’s get this done quickly, and you will no longer have to put up with my company and the coded notes it brings along. *leaves*
Niles: (...Guh, damn him. This is for Prince Leo, however, so I’ll do it. Yet I must admit it hurts to cooperate with that pain in the ass...)
B-Support
Niles: Hello. I bring the information on that gang you asked for. Though unfortunately I didn’t have the time to translate it all into code, so you won’t be able to divulge yourself in the pleasurable experience you so graciously granted to me.
Saizo: Impressive. Those criminals were tricky to pin down, I must admit I didn’t think it was possible to do it as quickly as you did.
Niles: Oh, why thank you. Where would I be in life without you appreciating my hard work as you so eloquently do.
Saizo: I get it, your angry. Resent me all you want, our job is done and you did it well, so consider me in your gratitude.
Niles: Ohhh~, your gratitude! How those words burn into my very core, I dare say they mean the world to me!
Saizo: Consider your message received. Lucky for you, those scoundrels worked up a bit of a bounty from local law enforcement while you worked. Milord wished this work done quietly, and I’m more than capable of issuing a strike on the gang’s base you provided me with, but now that Nohrian law is involved that isn’t entirely necessary. Pass of the information you got for me and the bounty is yours.
Niles: Well I don’t normally take charity, even if it is from the honorable line of ninja acting under the Saizo name, but I may just take you up on your offer. Sure you don’t wanna piece of the pie? Seems quite the sizable group, surely a big bounty.
Saizo: Like I said, all yours. And I see your investigation brought you to my name, did it?
Niles: Well I was given a good bit of hard work, figured I’d have some fun to cool off. I was told I wouldn’t be receiving any reward for this mission, so I thought it was only fair I take some time to satisfy my curiosity.
Saizo: Understandable. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t look into you before I handed off my work to you. Had to ensure I could trust you with my notes.
Niles: Oh, and here I am worrying my my head off about my dirty little secret! Seems I’m not the only one who enjoys prying up people’s past. It is so relieving to find someone with the same interests as mine. Many would call me shameful for indulging myself into private information, but I’m sure you know the burden of this guilty pleasure.
Saizo: I wouldn’t say that much. I skipped over any information that would be considered too private, I merely searched for ties to those we could consider an enemy.
Niles: Oh, and I’m sure you found it quite interesting to see I DID have all those ties to crime! It is quite embarrassing, I don’t let just any man lay eyes on that, and on the first mission together, too.
Saizo: Whatever ties to petty crime you have means nothing. As I said, I mind my business. You have no ties to common enemies of Nohr and Hoshido, no major terrorist groups, and no dangerous cults. I’m sure my eyes saw less than your liege or your king did, assuming Nohr does thorough background checks on people who defend the royal family. Beyond what I mentioned, your past is as much a mystery as it is to anyone else in this army.
Niles: Only /specific/ parts of my personal information were compromised? Oh, well aren’t oh a gentleman. No matter, I assume that makes us even. I did manage to find some things on you. Your family protects the Hoshidan line of kings, honor and pride, blah blah blah. Of course there was more but I’m sure that can wait for another day; my work was tiresome, my stamina is limited, in terms of business atleast, and I do have a reward to cash in with the law for our information here. I’ll be seeing you around, goodnight Saizo. *leaves*
Niles: (ā€œthat can wait for another dayā€, odd. Thought he’d be tired of seeing me after all this, didn’t hide the fact I annoy him. Odd man, he is...)
A-Support
Niles: Hello there, Saizo. I thought I’d stop but and offer you that reward money one last time. Not quite fair I take it all for myself.
Saizo: Nope. All yours. If anything now you have me thinking you don’t want this money either, the way you try and pass it off to me.
Niles: Of course not, money is money, a younger me would have never thought I’d have this much cash all at once, obtained legally of course. I just don’t get why you don’t want it. You did your work, and here’s your reward. What is it, too noble to accept money from the lower class?
Saizo: Well my sources on you did imply you were less than fortunate in your upbringing. My family lives simply, we have no need for such a large quantity of gold.
Niles: Ah, that’s it. Of course, you must keep up an honorable facade, can’t disgrace the Saizo name of course.
Saizo: My name is a title I hold pride in, there’s nothing wrong in wishing the keep it respectable.
Niles: Yet your attitude to others, is that respectable? Do you want people to hate you or admire you? These aren’t 2 sides of the same coin here.
Saizo: I have the respect and trust of my liege, that is all that is important.
Niles: Oh yes, I nearly forgot your little obsession with Ryoma. I can see my side, I owe Leo and I genuinely respect him because of it past. But you, you were merely assigned to Ryoma and that’s all you needed to fall head-over-heals for him. Is that part of honoring the Saizo name, or are you just that deeply in love with the man?
Saizo: I don’t need to prove myself to you, that’s what my job is for. My job is to devote myself to Ryoma, that’s more than enough reason to pursue perfecting that goal. That seems more noble to me than living to fulfill some debt. ...Sorry, that was-
Niles: No no, no need to apologize. I am the one who approached you after all, I walked right into this. ...And yes, I may be working to repay Lord Leo for sparing me, but that’s not what matters. Lord Leo did save my life, is it so wrong to wish to protect him after that? That’s how I chose to live my life from the moment he saved me onward, I don’t see how that negatively effects you. Of course, that is how I wound up in this army, and my role here certainly proves to be a pain in your ass, so perhaps it did hurt you in turn, yet there’s nothing stopping you from walking away and ignoring me after this.
Saizo: No, you are right. I... should mind my business, I dragged you into my job.
Niles: No, I wouldn’t say you dragged me into the job, I did complete it on my own will. Speaking of that job, I’m leaving half the reward here. Leave it here if you don’t want it, I don’t care, but it’s not going with me.
Saizo: Fine, I’ll take it, but only if you promise me you’ll take it all on the next job.
Niles: Next?
Saizo: Our latest job led to some other groups they had connections to being revealed. Seems we did a good job together on it. You may be a pain in the ass but you are skilled.
Niles: Oh~, well as long as I get more of your sweet company. You may be cruel, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy that kind of treatment from time to time.
Saizo: Of course you do. Well then, let’s get to work on that.

A Guide on Writing Niles (FE14):Ā
The way Niles often gets written in this fandom tends to exaggerate a lot of his characteristics and he’s frequently treated as a very cruel, merciless pervert, which is an amplification of a tone of insensitive stereotypes that went into his writing. So today, we’ll be going through discussing his character, most importantly his selective sadism and his selective flirtation, referencing his various supports (Character, Letter), to give authors in the fandom a better foundation for understanding him.Ā

Fire Emblem Fates: Benny/Keaton S-Support
So Valentines Day is coming up and I’m using that as an excuse to write some Gay Shit about my literal favorite ship in the series. These 2 already have C-A supports and I like them a lot so I don’t wanna replace them so I’m only doing a fanmade S-rank support. Read their supports if you haven’t it’s amazing. And there’s a translation of their dialogue from the Nohrian Festival DLC somewhere on tumblr so look into that cuz that’s also amazing and super gay. As usual I can’t add readmores from mobile soooo my sincere apologies to anyone wanting to ignore this but it’s a... longer post
Benny: DANGIT! Where did I put it?! Did it fall out of my pocket or... Maybe Charlotte could help me find it?
Keaton: Oh find what? I’m good at lookin for stuff.
Benny: AH! Keaton! Uhh Hi there,...
Keaton: You okay there? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.
Benny: Nope. No ghosts, definitely no ghosts.
Keaton: Deep breath, deep breath, we went over this at the Nohrian Festival; ghosts aren’t real. Here, take my hand, that helped last time right?
Benny: No I’m serious this isn’t about ghosts or monsters or anything, but thanks.
Keaton: Well then what’s the matter? Something had to get you all worked up right? Just tell me and I’ll help.
Benny: Don’t worry about it, I’m just looking for uh... my shield.
Keaton: Your...shield?
Benny. Yep. Shield.
Keaton: The same enormous, metal shield you carry with your armor?
Benny: ...yeah.
Keaton: Did you consider checking... the armory?
Benny: No... oh, I’ll go there now, actually. I guess I’ll see you-
Keaton: Actually, hold on a second. There was something I wanted to show you.
Benny: Huh? Okay, what is it?
Keaton: A surprise, that’s what. So close your eyes, and NO peaking! Found this while I was walking our usual treasure hunting route in the woods.
Benny: Treasure? Fine, but when I open my eyes please don’t have given me some dead bag or squirrel or-
Keaton: Relax, I know you don’t like that stuff, just trust me, alright?
Benny: Alright, here...
Benny:... Ouch! What are you doing?
Keaton: I said no peaking! I can’t get this to fit!
Benny: What is that, a ring?
Keaton: Yeah, thought it looked pretty and seemed like something you’d like. It was just lying on the trail, looked new and clean so I figured it’d be a nice gift. No if I could just fit the damn thing on your finger!
Benny: Keaton, the ring’s not my size, it’s not gonna fit.
Keaton: Seriously? These things got specific sizes and all that? I tried buying you one of these things and I couldn’t even get that far, they were all too ugly.
Benny: Well yeah, same ring won’t fit everyone.
Keaton: But it fit me just fine? I dunno I didn’t think about it too much, thought it was a miracle I found it at all.
Benny: There’s a reason it fits you. I... was the one who bought that.
Keaton: Really? This is what you were looking for a minute ago?
Benny: Yes, I uh... well I wanted to get you something to show... S-sorry, this is just hard to say, I’ve been putting it off for awhile now...
Keaton: Awhile? How long did you have thsi ring before you lost it?
Benny: ...awhile. I mean, I can’t just give it to you out of the blue and there’s the risk that you’d turn it down, it’s s-scary to think about.
Keaton:...
Benny: ...and yet you found the ring and gave it to me almost immediately. That must’ve taken a lot of courage to do. I-I uh...
Ah damn, forget all these stupid nerves! Keaton, I like you. A lot. And I haven’t been able to say it until now but it’s the truth. So uh... wo-would you accept t-this-
Keaton: Heh, you’re cute when you get flustered like that.
Benny: Cute?! So you felt the same way?!
Keaton: Of course I did! You’ve been my closest companion ever since I joined this army, you spend time with me even if the treasures I collect gross you out. You support me and I wanna help you too. Plus uhh... you’re really cute...
Benny: Now you’re the one blushing.
Keaton: Hey, you’re one to talk.
Benny: Heheh... just feels good to finally tell you. Thank you Keaton.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Valbar/Kamui C-A Support
2 characters who deserved more supports then they got. I love the trio of these guys and Leon so here’s my attempt at something for these 2 who 100% should’ve had supports with each other
Valbar: Hello, Kamui!
Kamui: Oh, hey Valbar. What’s up?
Valbar: Oh, nothin’ much, I guess... battle and all...
Kamui: Yeah, battle. Life of a merc, I guess... Need any help in particular? Tricky enemy? I know you aren’t too fond of enemies with magic.
Valbar: No I’m good for now. Well, it’s not like that’s my call anymore, we’re employed with Celica, I ain’t your boss anymore... Actually, how come you joined up with Celica in the first place. I mean, I owe her for helping me with those damn pirates, but the world’s at war right now. I’d imagine noble folk pay better then some kids from a priory. Doubt they send you against those necro-dragons either.
Kamui: UGH, don’t remind me of those things. Goin toe to toe with the undead isn’t something I like to dwell on. But the way you talk, you aren’t to fond of our little adventure either.
Valbar: Oh no don’t get me wrong. I believe in paying back debts, and honestly I support the cause. World’s a mess, the war’s claimed too many lives, and I’m hopin Mila can help us out. But I’d be lying if I said these battles weren’t a bit tiring.
Kamui: Well it makes sense. Got all the armor, between the 2 of us we make up most of our frontlines, all the mages and our old buddy Leon take the back. Carry a lot of the weight of our team, ā€˜course you’d be tired. Did the same back when it was just the three of us actually.
Valbar: Really now, you sure about that? I wouldn’t have lasted a minute without either of you two. Making it sound like you did less than I paid ya for!
Kamui: What?! Oh no no no I do my pays worth, merc’s honor! Don’t go turning my compliment against me!
Valbar: Hahaha! Don’t worry about any of that, I’m only kidding! Man, you take your money seriously don’tcha!
B-Support
Kamui: Hey, Valbar. Doin alright?
Valbar: Yeah I’m good, thanks. Training in Rigel didn’t teach me to fall quickly in battle.
Kamui: Oh, you’re Rigelian? Here I was worried you took too much heat in battle, but Rigel train their men well.
Valbar: Huh, I never mentioned it to you? Well yeah. I lived on the coast, which is how I ended up at the docks to meet you. Moved inland for military training, sent my pay back to my family on the coast. I know it’s not feasible but... wished I woulda brought my family out there with me... maybe things...
Kamui: I’m sorry... I’m sure you heard this before but it is what it is, there’s no way to prevent things like that.
Valbar: Yeah I know, thanks. I’m not gonna let my past hold me back but those things aren’t easy to get past. Can’t help but think back on everyone.
Kamui: That’s alright, they’re family of course you think about them. Hell, I worry about my family all the time.
Valbar: Really? You never pegged me as the family type of guy.
Kamui: Don’t blame you, most mercs aren’t. Hardened badasses, getting coin and taking hearts at some local pub between jobs. Guys like Saber. He’s a good man and all, don’t get me wrong, but that ain’t me. My family used to farm, Hell I used to manage sheep. Someone took our turf, next thing you know I’m at the docks with a dull sword practically begging for hire. Mostly worked escorting merchant cargo and warding off bandits, not much else a fresh face in the mercenary world will get hired for. Money goes home to Mom and Pop. Little siblings gotta eat after all. And that’s how I got here, I guess.
Valbar: Damn. Remind me a lot of myself, younger of course. But you’re a good man, Kamui. Not many other people would do all that for their family.
Kamui: Heh, go comparing me to you and /then/ I’m suddenly the good man?
Valbar: Psh, a compliments a compliment. You said it yourself that I was trained well, comparing you to myself isn’t so bad is it?
Kamui: Cut the flattery, Leon already has you covered there.
Valbar: Huh? We’re just buds, what’s he saying about me behind my back?
Kamui: Wow you... you’re clueless about that, huh?
A-Support
Valbar: So uh, Kamui, about our last talk. Something about Leon and... flattery?
Kamui: Oh, I’m probably not the one to ask on that, we talk a lot but I’m not sure he wants me going to you about that. Why not ask Leon himself, you 2 are really close?
Valbar: Yeah but, I don’t wanna offend him if I’m wrong on all this. We’re best friends, we’ve been there for each other for a long while now, I don’t wanna ruin that cuz I say something stupid.
Kamui: And what would this ā€œstupid thing to sayā€ be? Doubt it’s anything to make him wanna cut ties with you.
Valbar: Oh uh, I dunno. I’ve just been getting mixed signals from him lately. Like, maybe I’m on his nerves and he wants me to stop, but I’m not picking up on it when he tries to tell me?
Kamui: Good gods... Trust me, you aren’t on his nerves. Just... believe me on that. You 2 are closer than anyone I know. Honestly I feel like I might be third wheeling you guys too much sometimes?
Valbar: Third wheel? Of course not, we’re all friends! Allies on the same side!
Kamui: Considering how close you guys are you uh. You really don’t pick up on things do you?
Valbar: That’s the problem! I don’t get what’s wrong! That’s why I asked you!
Kamui: Alright listen. How do you feel about Leon?
Valbar: How do I feel? Well that’s obvious, he’s been with me through thick and thin! We’ve fought together, I helped him when he first joined the army. Poor guy lost his best friend in one of the first battles, I couldn’t leave him depressed like that. And that’s how we met, now he’s fighting by my side again. Helped me chase down Barth. Helped me cope when my family passed. I’m not sure where I’d be without him.
Kamui: You know what? I think you’ll be fine. Talk to him, I can see this’ll work out fine any way it goes. You guys are my best friends in this army, I know nothing would tear you two apart.
Valbar: Thank you, Kamui. I’ve said it before but... you really are a good man. You, me, and Leon; we’re gonna turn out just fine through all this. Nice to know we have each other’s backs.
Kamui: I’d almost gotten used to fighting alone. Fighting this war, helping out my family. Taking these burdens on alone. Thank you, Valbar. Your a good friend.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Klaus’ Experiment - Part 1
I like the whole idea behind Xenoblde’s world and how Klaus essentially messed *everything* up pretty hard so here’s my take on how some stuff went down. Also how do u add a ā€œread moreā€ on mobile cuz I genuinely don’t know how and I feel bad for anyone who winds up scrolling past all my shit. So like, if I’m clogging up a tag: I am so sorry
Content: prequel to xenoblade 1 & 2’s stories. Heavy spoilers for both games.
News all over the world had been covering the story. Some unexplained object spotted in the solar system by astrologists. Small independent researchers had gotten the word to the media before the government could fully step in to keep it under wraps. The mysterious object was at first seen as an asteroid, but as it got closer to Earth people witnessed the bright orange color. It became clear the object wasn’t a common space rock at all, it held the texture and smooth surface of a finely cut crystal. To be visible from such a distance, citizens concluded it must have been atleast 10 feet large, standing tall and thin in the vague shape of a cross.
It were these latest details that set the public off and pushed the government to take as much control as fast as possible. This wasn’t a normal object. It held no obvious origin, purpose, people didn’t even know whether or not it was a threat. It was a mysterious mess of questions, filling people all over the world with equal let’s wonder and fear. Conspiracy theories spread fast, ranging from topics of aliens to the apocalypse to ā€œdivine entitiesā€. Professor Klaus put no stock in such rumors, despite showing his clear interest in hearing as many of the rumors as possible. He didn’t believe a word that crossed his ears on the matter, but took in every word nonetheless. The object has piqued the professor’s interest, and he was determined to take in as much information on it as he could. He had studied at some of the most prestigious universities focused on sciences, astrology and physics in particular, meaning a mysterious space rock falling into an orbit around Earth’s atmosphere was directly up his alley. He was a curious man, demanding answers from himself, wishing deeply he could go and examine the object up close. He wanted to know the general public’s opinion on the matter while searching for any solid information at the same time. A tricky matter, yes, but the one that he chose in his search for knowledge. He wanted information, any information, any small idea could be the key behind this enigma.
Klaus’ interest had gotten the best of him when he received a letter from a government official. The letter was extremely vague but held al Klaus needed. ā€œSearching for experienced researchers of various scientific fieldsā€ Klaus’ heart jumped as he read it. ā€œSubstantial payā€, ā€œgroundbreaking discoveriesā€, ā€œaid the United States peopleā€, details details details. Klaus knew this must have been about the mysterious object that gripped the world’s attention. A once in a lifetime chance, he thought to himself. Klaus acted immediately, ā€œif you are interested, contact...ā€ whoever, wherever, Klaus desperately took in the key words and followed their instructions.
Login to the computer and write a response. ā€œI’m honoredā€, ā€œglad to participateā€, ā€œthank you for this opportunityā€ and countless other overly-flattering thanks to sound professional. ā€œSound professional, this is a career. You are -serious- about your jobā€. Klaus was quietly keeping himself calm as he sat, what could possibly be the biggest experiment of his life in his reach! The letter hadn’t even specified the details, Klaus could be fooling himself completely and this could be a small job at some random government research lab, but quite frankly Klaus didn’t care as long as the opportunity were there.
18 days for a reply to reach Klaus. It was long enough for ā€œThe Conduitā€, as media had begun calling it, to consume all international media, whether that attention be conecern, wonder, fear, or praise. Many news stations had given up, unable to get an official comment from the United States government. Internet blogs has analyzed every last image on the ā€œconduitā€ looking for signs of photoshop or editing, which certainly presented itself in some fake images by sources desperate for attention. The worst of it all had been the small, persistent group that named it ā€œThe Conduitā€ in the first place: The Saviorites. An odd group originating from some dark crevice of the internet who believed the mysterious object to be something more than a rock, it had to be some dark messenger or ā€œharbinger of doomā€ as a particularly creepy preacher had put it. Klaus had found the group by searching a bit too far into conspiracies implying the rock originated from an alien planet. The group was vocal, not enough so to be household names yet, but enough that the name they created for their mysterious crystal to be accepted by the general public.
The group was as mysterious as the conduit itself. You would see representatives of them on busy street corners with pamphlets, small posters on street signs that was quickly covered in graffiti of the group’s opposers. Cryptic, yet ever present, the group itself believed the conduit to be ā€œdivineā€, as they put it. Klaus could remember, despite his wish to forget, his visit to the saviorite’s base website. ā€œACCEPT THE CONDUIT- THE MESSENGER OF THE GODS! THE ROSETTA STONE OF THE UNIVERSE AND BEYOND!ā€. The title of the page was more than enough to make Klaus uncomfortable enough to turn away. He wanted information, but a cult following delusions of a hidden god was too much for him to sit through. It felt wrong, the message felt dark and sat heavy on Klaus’ mind. How people had already devoted so much energy into the cause boggled the professor, but he could somewhat understand their interest, Klaus himself had complied lists of possible origins, uses, and compositions of the rock after all.
Klaus pushed this out of his mind as he tore open the letter. The longest 18 days of Klaus’ life, he felt. Finally, something on the topic had reached Klaus’ mail box.
ā€œDear Professor Pneuma,ā€ opened the letter, the professional opening a quick reminder to Klaus that this was a serious matter and not something he should be jumping giddily at the thought of. ā€œWe thank you for your acceptance of our invitation. We will send a driver and official representative to give you more information. Please pack essentials, such as clothing, important items, research, etc. The stay at our facilities is currently indefinite, you will be able to return home within 2 weeks of arrival, further information will be given by an official on arrival. Thank you very much for your cooperation and participation in our project.ā€
The letter was vague as could be but that didn’t matter. Klaus had a shot at researching the latest focus of his attention. Savioites and conspiracy theories be damned, he would be one of the first people to learn about the conduit.

Hello it’s my first post!
Hi! I made this blog as a side blog so I could write. Will I write original shit? Vent? Just fan fiction of games I like? Who knows cuz I sure don’t. Anyway feel free to follow or read my stuff or give your input.
I’m not 100% how I wanna start all this. Naturally starting is the hardest part of something like this so I hope it goes well after this. I’ve had a few ideas of stuff I wanna write. Namely a small rewriting of Fire Emblem Ftaes, one of my favorite games of all time but wow the writing in that game is terrible. I’d love to do a bit of a rewriting for certain things in the game just for fun to see what I could change for the better, whether it be main story or supports.
Speaking of fire emblem supports, I can imagine I’ll write a lot of side stuff about whether it just be about the side characters or whatever. I do have some ships cuz I’m gay as hell but I’d imagine it’d mostly be the side characters who don’t have supports together interacting, different situations and expanding on characters who kinda got shoved to the side of the story lol
I don’t wanna be too annoying with all my ideas but I have quite a few and hopefully they work out well on this account. Here’s to the future of my writing :)
-Grant
