OOC: Manhunt rules!!

Rule 1: Anyone can join or leave the chase as they like.

Rule 2: The arc will continue until someone presents and executes a plan that successfully surpasses all of Cyrus’s capabilities and permanently captures them.

Rule 3: Cyrus's location will change and evolve as people interact with the arc and to accommodate the needs of interested players.

Rule 4: While all of Cyrus's abilities will be given to the mods, that does not mean characters will be aware of them until experiencing them firsthand.

Rule 5: Don't be an asshole about it. This is a game for everyone, don't try to godmod your way to victory or else you'll automatically fail.

This list is subject to change if change is needed.

An Important Announcement

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. I come here today with an announcement I truly did not want to have to make. However, given the events of the past days, it has expanded beyond a company issue to a matter of regional and potentially global security. If I could have a moment of time to explain the situation, your attention would be greatly appreciated. 

For the past few months, the Legend Hunter Association has stationed agents in the Gracidea Reserve of northern Sinnoh. This area has been protected from development and commercial affairs for decades in order to preserve the habitats of many species of Pokemon residing there- including the den of a hibernating Regigigas and perhaps most famously, the springtime nesting fields of migratory Shaymin.

 These two locations made for ideal observation of legendary and mythical Pokemon in their natural habitats. Which League permission, our agents stationed there carried out studies from a safe distance on Gracidea’s most incredible inhabitants. 

However, these missions have had catastrophic consequences. 

Last Sunday, our agents awoke in the middle of the night to find the Shaymin nesting fields ablaze. Despite their best efforts, the agents were unable to douse the flames- they were fought back from saving the reserve by this man and prevented from taking action until too late.

The culprit to this horrific act of terror is pictured above, one of the few solid images taken of the villain before his heinous escape several years ago. His name is Cyrus Akagi, a ruthless, morally devoid eco-terrorist who led a team of criminals in a genocidal campaign three years ago against Sinnoh. A man of sinister ambition and an undying hatred for the world as we know it, Cyrus attempted to use the powers of Sinnoh legendaries to destroy the entire universe in favor of one he could rule over as a god. If not for a timely intervention of unlikely heroes, he likely would’ve succeeded- instead he was forced to flee into a collapsing dimension of his own creation. Presumed dead, Sinnoh was able to breathe easy once more. However, approximately 18 months ago, the former LHA Headquarters was invaded by none other than the criminal mastermind Cyrus himself. We were shocked to find him alive, albeit crippled, upon reviewing our tapes. In that first break-in he made off with several pieces of highly advanced technology which he has apparently retrofitted into automatronic replacements for his missing left arm and eye, alongside an invaluable relic tied to several Unovean legendary Pokemon. Not wishing to cause any societal panic with news that one of Sinnoh’s greatest threats had seemingly returned from the dead, the LHA quietly alerted the proper authorities in order to track down and stop whatever Cyrus may have been planning. Such was the same decision made after an even bolder move against us by the terrorist- the thievery of yet another priceless relic needed for Legend study during the opening ceremony of the new LHA HQ in Jubilife City. However, after this most recent attack upon us and the ideals we stand by and promote, the LHA cannot allow this tyrant of ambition go unpunished. Not while the ashes of a land we brought him to are still warm.

Pictured above is an artist’s interpretation of Cyrus’s current appearance, based on eyewitness accounts. Cyrus stands at 6′4″, weighs approximately 200 pounds, and frequently appears in sudden bouts of rain. He wears a hooded jacket seemingly constructed from the remains of his old Team Galactic uniform, with a cybernetic left arm and eye as well as heavy scar tissue in the surrounding areas. Most distinctively is his mask, a skin-fitting garment that covers the lower half of his face and is marked with a navy blue downward crescent positioned over his mouth.  If you encounter this man, immediately notify the immediate authorities and LHA officials.Our organization has deployed numerous agents alongside preexisting police investigative forces in order to track down this dangerous madman. 

The LHA is hosting a $40,000,000 reward for the capture of Cyrus Akagi. Please, help us track down this unrepentant criminal and put an end to his schemes once and for all.

@gentle-as-steel, we… really should start work on the whole “getting married” thing. It’s been fun, but… If we’re going to get this this done by spring, we should at least investigate venues.

Good Evening, all!

It is my great honor to announce the opening of the grand new Legend Hunter Association Headquarters! The celebratory ceremony will begin shortly after Head Commander Raylor cuts the red ribbon, and I’m so pleased to see such a fantastic turnout! 

The central event will occur in our Grand Hall, located on the 30th floor of the building. Attendants will guide you to the elevators in an orderly fashion with the maximum efficiency for you to reach your destination. Dinner will be served on our extensive buffet tables, with seating readily available per your needs. On the west side of the room will be the entrance to the bar area should you desire a calmer, more causal experience than the central room. On the east is the LHA Gallery, a wide display of our methods, agents, and equipment, as well as some of our most exciting recent discoveries and long-term mission plans! Attendance and catering are free for all, but any donations you may wish to make can be deposited at the table near the Grand Hall’s elevators. 

For those invited as part of the VIP list, simply display your invitations to the guards near the Grand Staircase to be let through. The VIP section has exclusive seating and catering, easy access to the rest of the Hall’s features, a wide socialization area, and a miraculous view of the party’s progressions!

((What were the criterion for selecting the VIP guests for the LHA's opening ceremony?))

Put simply? People who interested Zero. The LHA is essentially his show to run, with the founders having a level of faith in his plans and giving him plenty of leeway of how to run things. So when it was time to make the VIP list, it was mostly up to Zero’s whims- the Cerulean sisters were invited for publicity and as a sign of good will, the LH crew was invited because of the growing hostility between them being amusing to him, and people like Trevor and Charlene being included due to their possession of skills he considers potentially useful.

Dear Mr. Sobiech, I understand that the aim of your organization is to study Legendaries. How do you intend to go about such work without capturing them? I have my qualms about catching such powerful beings in Poké Balls.

Good evening! I apologize if my response was not timely, I have been very busy with the opening ceremony’s preparation. 

To answer your question, agents are permitted and if the situation calls instructed to catch the Legends they track and observe. We take measures to ensure our methods are as humane as possible, and once captive studies are completed on the subject, it is harmlessly re-released into its natural habitat. If the Pokemon in question expresses desire to stay with its temporary trainer, this is permitted as well. Thank you for asking!

Spoken like a true master. :) I myself don't have the most... honorable or devoted lineage, but I've worked constantly to carve out a place for myself in the world. My mind has always been my most powerful ally, and after years of study, field work, and engineering, I've finally managed to make it to my dream profession today!

Ahh, indeed... This may come as a surprise, but I have a great deal of respect  for familial tradition! To see a craft carried on and perfected over time to a far greater standard than anyone could accomplish in a single lifetime is truly inspirational!

And yes, sadly... But after all, our science is ever-expanding! As more Pokemon are discovered, more are sure to meet the requirements of legendary status and be classified accordingly. For all we know, the first Posion-type legend could be just around the corner waiting to be found!
