A Nostalgic Summer Day (Short Film)

This film started with music Etia made to a prompt I gave: "A time spent with friends on a nostalgic Summer day". I then created the animation based on the music straight ahead with no plans, no boards, and no visual development. I created the story as I went along. It was a wild ride that took much longer than I anticipated.

An interview about what it's like being the last of your species.

I learned a LOT more about Blender making this. Geometry nodes for the grass. Particle simulation for the dust. Baking normals for the painterly texture of the creature. A lot of super fun stuff. Once again everything including compositing was done in Blender! No Adobe products were used in the making of this film.

Based on a true story! This was a 48 hour film I made to master Blender's grease pencil. This film was entirely animated, composited, and edited in Blender!
