despite my original vision being green bc it's creepy and quite eerie, i tried with blue and i like that it just feels cold and sad. still need to finish rendering the rest of the background but overall i am super happy that i actually pushed through after procrastinating so much to get this done, it's by far my best

Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.

I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.

Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.

the lantern bearers ✨ based on the painting of the same name by maxfield parrish, this is a piece for the witch hat atelier: eternal ephemera zine! leftover sales are on now until april 30 at 11:59 PM EST (last chance!!)

it's been a long time in wait until i could post this piece (drawn in fall 2023), and this drawing was very formative for me - swooping lines, lineart with a loose hand, loose and less perfectionist colouring, watercolour brushes building up colour, using more texture - all of my drawings changed from here on.

i also made a thick acrylic charm (this is a photo for my personal store and is a standee, so it varies slightly from the zine store version)
