“The biggest deception is when you start to believe your own lies.” - Anthony T. Hincks

FALSIFY
I live in a world wherein truth doesn’t matter. Prisoned of flowery words. Small and silent words with loud impacts that cut deep within my soul. Deceitful things engraved in my mind. I heard them. I noticed everything but I didn’t say a word. Since then, I became numb.
My life has been full of lies. I don’t even know what truth defines. They made me blind of authenticity and deprived me the liberty I deserve. Honesty? Genuineness? What do those words mean? I thought everything was fine and perfect. I don’t know who I am anymore. They made me the person I never thought I would be. Worst? Yes that’s me! Want proof? Wait until you see.
Their clapping hands are like music to my ears as my adviser announces that I’m the top of the class. “Congratulations Falsify! I knew it! You top the class again!” There’s nothing new. I’m used to it. What do you expect? My father is a lawyer and he topped the Bar.
Flowers, chocolates and love letters always come after me. “Notice me, Falsify! Please be my girl.” Ughh, so annoying! I’m the center of attention. They keep on idolizing me just like my mom who’s the dream girl of her generation. She’s a former Ms. Universe. Excellence surrounds me. Perfection is all they see. Not until… “The former Ms. Universe is associated with the drug syndicates. Things are now under investigation. We are trying to get the side of both parties.” As I heard the news, my world fell into pieces. Our family’s reputation and dignity that we value for how many years vanished.
Now I know why I was named Falsify. Nice name! It suits me well. Want to know why? Let’s spill the tea. “Cheers! It calls for a celebration. Let’s party and enjoy the night!” They are so happy and I don’t like it. They don’t deserve that kind of happiness. I need to do something. “You are all expelled! Someone posted your pictures on social media lying on the floor, drunk, taking party drugs and you still wearing your uniforms! You're ruining the name of our school!” Are you suspecting me? Well, you’re right! I did it. Why? Simply because I liked to. I am now checking my social media account, asking what’s on my mind. Hmm? You really want to know? “The most prestigious school is tolerating their students who use drugs inside the campus.” Then I clicked “post”. Done! So satisfying.
This is what I’ve become. They made me do this and they brought out the worst version of me. It’s not fair that I’m the only one who’s suffering. I feel so betrayed by the people whom I trusted and treasured the most. I tried to hide this side of me, not until… “Maybe you don’t realize sooner that we have our own ways to know the person behind the fake issues spreading on social media. Well, Ms. Falsify, you’re wrong. You are going to face the consequences of your actions. You are no longer part of this school. You are expelled.” With that, I knew I was wrong and I learned it in a hard way. I realized that you cannot solve one mistake with another mistake. I was blinded by hate and I let it overpower me. Bad experiences are not valid reasons to do something worse and ruin someone's life.

“What you post online speaks VOLUME about who you really are. POST with intention. REPOST with caution.” - Germany Kent
Tumblr media
Is it important to use social media responsibly? For me, yes It matters. We share our insights, thoughts and build stronger relationships with other people online. So here are some pointers on how we’ll be able to be a responsible netizen.
1. BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE POSTING
Stop overshare your private life to other people, don’t post your personal information!!! yes we have our own freedom to post our thoughts but always remember that we should be wary of what we open to many people because it can affect you as an individual and also your safety. Protect your reputation and privacy.
2. BE AN INSPIRATION TO ALL THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU
Spreading love online by uplifting and encouraging individuals to post positivity and happiness virtually. We may not see or know everyone personally, but sometimes most of the people inspire through your actions and having a good mindset in life. Be respectful and others will respect you also.
3. UPDATE YOUR SECURITY SETTINGS REGULARLY
For us to be able to secure our personal accounts, we should check it regularly. Change your account password and keep your device safe and scan for the possible harmful apps.
4. BE FRIENDS WITH YOUR ACQUAINTANCE AND FAMILY
It’s not bad to meet new friends on the internet but we should remember that our close friends and family must be friends with us on social media.
5. PROTECT YOURSELF HOLISTICALLY
Yourself is the most important!!! There’s always a bad and good effect of social media so be prepared for different views and issues of other people, We should protect our inner peace and live with genuine happiness. “YOU ARE LOVED. YOU ARE ENOUGH. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. YOU ARE WORTH IT. YOU ARE WONDERFULLY MADE.”
Hello everyone! My name is Lenuel Jireh D. Lentija but you can call me Jireh, 16 years of age. A Grade 12 Student at UPHSD. I’m here to express my thoughts, my experiences, what I want to do or plans and especially lessons in life that I’ll bring in the rest of my journey. Hope you’ll enjoy and learn something from it!
Tumblr media
I’m a daughter, a servant of God and a girl who has a lot of dreams to my family.
When I was 3 years old, my father died because of asthma. I’m proud of my mother because she is a strong person, even though my father died, her love, support and care for us is unconditional. My mom is a great person, she gives us what we need, she is happy when we are happy. Her corny jokes make us laugh because we need something from her, just kidding hehehe.
I’m a member of the Praise & Worship Team in our church, praising and giving Glory to Him is such a privilege to me. I’m not perfect but He is perfect. We are more than blessed because we have Him and He cares for us. Being a servant of God is such a rollercoaster ride for me. It is not easy but He promised that until the end we have Him and He will always be there for us. Many retreats, Youth Camp, Activities in the church is equals to life lessons and testimonies that I will treasure forever. You are wonderfully made, so be a Blessing to all the people around you.
My dream is to become a Doctor, my father is my inspiration to become one. I want to serve other people, especially those who live in rural areas. Most of people say It is not easy but for me It is worth it. You have to be prepared holistically, be flexible and have a heart to help other people.
It is important that you know your goals and vision in life so that everything will follows, and always do it for the Glory of God. Spread purple hearts everyone! Have a Goodnight!
