Just to add to this post; Make sure you have enough water too. Pipe will freeze or burst with how cold it is, and people might have to shut off their water due to the cold. Get water bottles, water jugs or go to a fast food place to get water. Stay hydrated and warm. This is coming from a Texan who had to turn off the water due to the risk of pipes freezing.

Just a reminder to anyone who will listen! There’s a huge cold front coming up in America right now and I want to remind everyone to NEVER use or rely on a gas stove to heat up your home. You will die. If your power goes out, the best thing you can do is cover your windows, or get to an area in your house with no windows, and bundle up to the best of your ability to conserve heat. I know generating heat with whatever you have sounds good in theory, but we lost a LOT of people to carbon monoxide poisoning in last years Texas Freeze because many relied on gas stoves and other propane heat sources. A lot of people went to bed and never woke up. Please be aware of the things you can’t see, like fumes from your generator, built up gas when starting a car in an enclosed space, and of course, the excess carbon monoxide that can be generated by leaving a gas stove on for too long.

Hey, stop calling me out. I may write only a few things, but I get those ideas on the spot!

All is well and good until someone dies of heatstroke in the middle of Texas summer.

A ghost that just pulls small pranks to be an asshole, like standing next to the sensor for the AC in the middle of summer so the air conditioning never kicks on.

I set the pen down, blowing on the ink. It was to be my last letter to my friends and family. I knew I was dying. I could feel it. They thought I couldn't see their strained smiles, their fake happiness. No, I saw it all. And it hurt me to see them suffer. So, I had decided to end it.

I waited a few hours. I was waiting for midnight. When my mother, father and little sister would be asleep..... I hated doing this to her... she was so young.... she was three. She should've been carefree....

My alarm sounds, telling me it was time. I put the note on my bed, going to the bathroom. A handful of pills were on the counter. It wasn't enough.... I quickly grab the glass of water, my pills and more. More pills. Sleeping pills. Advil. Ibuprofen. Everything I could get to. I go back to my room.

Was I really doing this....? Yes. I was. I was going to kill myself before my family had to watch me die. It was the only way.... Cancer can't be healed.... I swallow the water and pills, laying down and closing my eyes for the last time.....

Or so I thought.....

I gasp as I open my eyes.

*Clink* She sets her tea-cup down, her grey eyes blinking at me.

I stare back at the child. "W-Where am I...?"

"My tea party! Um.... Who are you?"

"I... Don't know. I can't remember.... Who are you?"

"I'm Ann! Can I give you a name?"

"Go ahead Ann..."

I watched Ann as she thought of a new name. Her mom opened the door and I freeze. Oh no... Her mom was going to kill me! I was a teenager in her childs room! But.... She didn't look at me.

"Ann, who are you talking too?"

"My new friend Mommy! I want to give her a name, but I can't think of one...."

Her mom thinks for a bit. "Why not Alice?"

Ann's eyes light up and she turns to me again. "You're Alice now!"

I nod, surprised. Her mom closes the door and I hear her talking to her husband. My eyes widen when her words hit me.

"Ann imaginary friend dear. She'll out-grow her friend in a few years."

Instead of heaven and hell, when you die, you find yourself in a room with a six year old girl who invites you to join her tea party. It dawns on you, you’re her imaginary friend.
