this has been in the works for awhile, just found find it in myself to finish it 💔 I LOVE Janaya tho, i had to draw this scene.

The Dragon Queen was alive and reunited with her son. The corrupted human armies and their leader , the dark mage, were defeated. It should have been more joyous than this, but Janai’s thoughts drifted back towards the things that lay ahead. Her queen, her sister, was dead. Lux Aurea lay in ruins and the Sunforge was corrupted. She was next in line to the throne and it fell to her to deal with all these problems. More or less all by herself. She wasn´t quite focusing on the moment. She certainly would have noticed the pair of eyes studying her from her left.

Amaya must have picked up on what she was thinking. Her perception once again noticing things that others would not even pick up on. There wasn´t much she could do to bring Janai back to the present. They were in the presence of the Dragon Queen after all. So being the brave general that she was…

..she bumped Janai on her arm. It seemed to have the desired effect. The elf immediatly refocused on Amaya and looked at her with a slightly annoyed and confused expression and extended her hand. As if to ask what she wanted.

Amaya however didn’t focus on Janai’s face. Seeing the elf’s extended hand she got an idea. 

She grabbed Janai’s hand almost on relfex before she could pull it away again. The motion took Janai a bit by surprise, holding hands with a human wasn’t what she had in mind when she extended her hand. Not at all. But feeling Amaya’s secure grip on her hand quickly chased any dark thoughts from her mind. 

Another sensation came from the texture of Amaya’s glove. This was the hand she used to hold her down while she was in heat-being mode. The glove was burnt through to her skin. This human would have sacrificed her hand, her ability to communicate with the world for the chance to keep Janai alive. She really was pure of heart. With that Janai tightend her grip on Amaya’s hand.

Perhaps she wasn’t so alone after all.
