Its dorsal wings are a blue color with slight brown colouring, thinly bordered with white. Its body and the outline of its wings are fuzzy.]
[Ceraunus Blue Butterfly, (Hemiargus ceraunus)], [Family Lycaenidae (Gossamer-winged butterflies), subfamily Polyommatinae]

Gulp.. Genuinely couldn't find a solid match for this little guy..
Based on the distinct markings, it's most likely a moth belonging to the family [Geometridae], possibly one in genus [Lambdina] or [Nepytia]. Some sort of looper moth?
(Whatever it is, I hope it had a nice rest on that pole! Although I'm unsure what the red stuff on the pole and its thorax is..)
First post!
Kool moth at the grocery store. Not sure what kind it is, cause I'm not really a bug expert, I just take pictures of them.
Not sure if it was dead, sleeping, or just posing for the camera.
Based on the color, I'd say it was probably trying to camouflage against the pole, maybe mistaking it for a tree. It also has some kind of scar or discoloration on the right wing.
All in all, very interesting moth. If anyone knows what species it is, please let me know. :3

Closest match:
[Polyphemus Moth (Antheraea polyphemus)], [Family Saturniidae]
Most likely a female, based on the thinner antennae.
Polyphemus moths can be identified by the two large eyespots on it's hindwings and two smaller eye markings on it's forewings (in dorsal wing view). In this case, I find that the markings of a Polyphemus moth in ventral wing view match the closest to the one in the image.
Polyphemus moths are typically observed during late spring, around [May to July].
(Fun)facts
1. Polyphemus moths, as adults, are unable to feed! They only have vestigial mouth parts.
2. They start trying to find a mate the day they emerge from their cocoons. Afterwards, they only live for less than a week. (Sad face)
3. Polyphemus moths are polyphagous, so they feed on many different types of plants.

What is [lepidoptera-identifier]?
This (gimmick) blog has the humble role of identifying any insects classified under the Lepidoptera order (to the best of my ability).
(Hopefully this is an original gimmick blog idea.. Lolz..)
In my posts/reposts, I will state the identified [Common Name], [Scientific Name], [Family, (Subfamilies)] and maybe (fun)facts.
I am not a professional! Merely a someone with much enthusiasm for butterflies and moths. Apologies for any mistakes I make in Lepidoptera identification or if I fail to identify the species (boo..). Corrections are welcomed!
+ I intend to post/reblog about important Lepidoptera conservation events and news.
How to [Identify] your [Possible Lepidoptera]?
- Send in your images through the [Winged Beasts Judged Here] (Ask) button!
- I will do my best to identify your [Possible Lepidoptera]!
Non-Lepidoptera submissions for funsies are allowed, but I will not answer to them if they are some random images. I will respond, however, if ( e.g You send in a picture of your pet dressed as a Lepidoptera, or you send in a photo with something vaguely Lepidoptera-shaped in it. )
If you send any inappropriate or rude asks/messages, you will be blocked and reported immediately.
