study how US affected the politics in the country you/your family are from (this is for purging US ideology from your brain lmao)

learn the language!! and talk to people in the language!

get to know how and why your family got to US, how they were/are treated differently

learn how to cook dishes from your country or how to dance a popular dance

get to know painters, writers, musicians, filmmakers from the country

if possible, visit the country someday :)

I'm not an immigrant but these are things that help me connect with my culture - you don't need to live in the US to be a victim of their cultural imperialism lmao

Latinos, how do y'all deal with the feeling of being so americanized by everything you don't even feel connected to ur own culture anymore 😔 (genuine question btw I love Latinoamérica I just feel massive Imposter Syndrome regarding it)

People from the diaspora! Can you recommend how do you deal with this? And maybe, people from latam, ways to connect? Please, be respectful 💞 i live inside of Latinoamerica, so i dont have this experience but i always feel like movies are a incredible way to feel connected to places. soooo I'm 100% sure House is autistic and this makes the show even more personal for me.

I just watched s02e11 in which

Stacy is about to leave Mark to be with House and he stops her because he isn't "willing to do anything for her" as Mark is, so he can't make her happy as Mark can. and it broke my heart lmao

being autistic is feeling constantly like you aren't capable of being good enough for others because you simply can't do certain things they need. we KNOW it's hard to deal with our characteristics and we can't change them only because they harm others.

since I got diagnosed it's been both a blessing and a curse knowing it. now I understand that the reason why I can't change certain behaviors is not because I'm an asshole, a horrible person or something. but now I'm certain I can't change, and I feel hopeless.

my partner is really trying to learn how to deal better with me, and I'm trying to cope with some symptoms in healthier ways so I don't harm anyone, but there are many others that I can't avoid... and I wish I wasn't so harmful :(
