"I love you but you're doing wrong in a way I cannot condone" and "I hate you but you're being wronged in a way I cannot stomach" are top tier and I need more of them.

Conrad Fisher is so in love he sees Belly in golden hour at a goddamn Michael's. for reference, the lighting at Michaels naturally gives prison way before it gives sunset on the beach. if that's not romance I don't know what is.

He either chose the flowers because he and Laurel are the same or because he subconsciously associates them with some of his most intimate memories of Belly. Or both.
Probably both.

i’m curious what arbitrary and specific flavors people dislike are. rb and tag a Taste you simply don’t fuck with. for flavor reasons not texture reasons. for me? i do not like elderflower or caraway for whatever reason

I feel like people don’t get it — Belly’s whole thing is that she doesn’t believe that Conrad loved her with such intensity! She really doesn’t think she has him as crazy as she does. She thinks she’s alone on that. That’s the whole point of the “I thought you knew!”. Belly grew up a very insecure teenager that was literally dating the man of her dreams. Conrad admits his mistake by admitting that him not being as verbal with his love for her might’ve been a mistake. Yes, it’s very obvious that he was in love with her but I think Belly needed that verbal affirmation and Conrad pulling away because of his grief didn’t help either. It gave her mixed signals about his committed to her and that’s a valid response. She lost Conrad and then days later she lost Susannah. And then Conrad was pushing her away. Belly was 16/17!
Yes, Belly would’ve 100% been there for Conrad has he been more open to her and she should’ve been more aware but both had some fault into it.
I think it’s very important that Conrad knows now that not wanting to show Belly his vulnerability to retain this image that he’s a hero and capable of everything was a mistake. That being strong is also vulnerability and he is now in a place where he can open up to her about his struggles without feeling like he’s dragging her down with him. Which was his major problem before – that he thought his grief was his problem alone to bear. Now, he’s clearly struggling with the fact he’s in a position to say everything to her but cannot because she’s not with him anymore.
Conrad’s struggle this season is juggling his love for Belly vs the promise to take care of Jeremiah. And he feels like being with Belly can break that promise. And Belly’s struggle is about admitting her love for Conrad or remain stagnant in her relationship with Jeremiah due to familiarity.

you know what's weird to me? that a lot of people are still convinced that 🪑 and belly will be end game. i hate to break it to you all but the fact that jenny herself directed episode 5? that's peak conrad girlie energy. just think about the effort and detail she's shown in that episode alone. you can't direct that much yearning and not mean it.
i mean sure, she loves jeremiah too, as any author would with their fictional creations, but girl, conrad? conrad i think will always *always* have special place in her heart.
if i'm being honest, episode 5 feels like a love letter. and it definitely wasn't addressed to jeremiah. 🤷
ok that's my ted talk for the day. tnx for coming

The way Belly and Conrad can go from having mature conversations about their feelings and struggles, to straight up funny banter where she allows herself to be sarcastic and bossy because she knows he won’t take it to heart but scenes where they can also be in total silence without even touching each other and feel so connected. That’s what love is. Not walking on eggshells, not compromising your comfort, just a relationship where you feel equally supported by your partner.
