I'm delighted to report that I recently wrote an entire TTRPG about obtuse inventory queues:

it’s crazy to me that Homestuck has apparently influenced every single piece of media to come out of the mid 2010s and yet I have somehow never played an indie game that attempts to lift any of this sylladex shit for its inventory. there should be 10,000 games out there by now with inventory management systems even HALF as fucked up and evil as “items can only be stored in inventory slots equivalent to their name’s Scrabble score”

i go to the ytp bar and order the usual. the bartender sets a Snoopingas in front of me. i pick it up, raise it to my lips, and set it back down, repeating all of this while gradually accelerating until i have finished the drink. my favorite way to spend a frirfday evenineve

i was opening up the nature center and a little wasp flew by while i unlocked the door so i let him out. then i looked down, and there was a spider, a millipede, and two rollie-pollie bugs waiting at the door and they all walked out in a line like they’d been at a party together overnight.

it’s been two weeks and i can’t stop thinking about it.

Starting Our Journey(Mon)

My first devlog for my monster taming TTRPG JourneyMon is out now! Did you know its been exactly 5 years since I started working on it?

In the article I discuss the history and current state of the game, from its inception, through playtesting, editing and now to our Kickstarter campaign. Learn about the game's original code name, and a couple of mechanics that have stood the test of time.

This is the first of many, and I'll dive into various design choices in more depth as the series continues. Next up is likely to be a deep dive on the type chart!
