A full face helmet

Although I’m not very claustrophobic, I suffer from anxiety/panic disorder which can be triggered when I feel trapped in restricted environments.

My Nolan N44 helmet helps a lot. Its not exactly a full face helmet. Chin guard can be removed, which introduces some risk when impact is from chin area. But it feels strong and safe enough, and offers some space between your mouth/chin and the helmet which helps with comfort.

But the best feature is the HUGE view field. As you can see from the picture below, compared to a full-face helmet, the visor area is extremely large both horizontally and vertically. You barely see your own helmet when riding, which pretty much eliminates the claustrophobic feeling.

But as I said, if you can use one, a quality full-face helmet is the safest. I use this model because I couldn’t find a full-face that fits my disproportionately large head :)
