04/08/2021 || Good morning! I'm still riding the high of establishing a topic for my sproj. Plus my sleep schedule is pretty much back on track. I've been exercising regularly. For the first time in over a year, life feels good. Sending good vibes to everyone. 💗

I’m so stupid 😭 i re opened my instagram account because why not and I don’t know, I don’t like it, I don’t feel part of that community and the main reason why i came back to that platform is the fact i have a large audience there but oh man, i regret it so much. it is so different to be there than here. did my English exam ( it went ok... I hope)

went over some of the proofs from one of the math chapters

went over in class notes for a history chapter because I'll go crazy if I study math all the time

I have a math exam again on Monday so I'll be spending the weekend doing math with bits of social studies in between to prevent me from going insane

speaking of duolingo what's the wildest sentence u have seen in it 👀

Oh my gosh. Ugh it’s so hard to think off the top of my head.

I’ve read some pretty dramatic ones, like “Tell him I do not love him,” and I have also seen some ones that just make me mad, like “The monkey marries a chair.” It’s really annoying to me because supposedly the odd sentence is supposed to stick in your head more, but as you can see by the trouble I had recalling any, it doesn’t. If anything, you remember them in your native far better than in the actual language, which… defeats the point.

I love Duolingo for its accessibility and use of the forgetting curve, but some of their lesson plans suck. Like, I really, really hate Hebrew’s. Arabic’s is set up like Hebrew’s should be, but then once you know a few words, the tree is over. Most of them are done by volunteers rather than actual employees, so I can’t fault them for devoting their free time without pay, but Duolingo. Please. If you made your premium access less expensive, more people would buy it. Like, when they put it on sale for 50% it’s still too much for me, but if it were affordable, I would 100% subscribe because of how much I use it. And then they could pay their employees to research how to structure a lesson plan, or pay their volunteers.
