I’d hoped not to have to come back to everyone so soon, but despite our success in January, it seems we've boarded another rollercoaster ride at some point.

We've been in and out of our vet five or six times this past month with both of our dogs. It seemed right when one was trending upwards, something would happen with the other - appetite loss, straining to pee, weakness in the legs... We said goodbye to our other dog on Monday, June 16th after a near month long struggle with his appetite and an ultimate diagnosis of Cushing's Disease. Despite all our efforts, we were just too late.

Jonah was diagnosed with bladder stones and put on an expensive prescription diet after a near miss with a urinary blockage at the start of June. He thankfully passed his first stones after having his bladder examined by our vet and being put back in his kennel to wait further testing - testing that he wound up not needing because he decided to show them exactly what the problem was right then. The stones were sent off to the lab and we recently got our final answer.

Jonah has struvite bladder stones. He'll need to be on a prescription diet for the rest of his life. It'll take time on this prescription diet for his existing stones to dissolve. It's all a waiting game with what amounts to a minefield in his bladder, waiting to get triggered at any moment until its disarmed.

Today, he had to go to urgent care once again because he was straining to pee and our normal vet was closed. After nearly two hours there, he was confirmed to have a blockage. They managed to flush the stone back into his bladder as a temporary measure, but he needs to go to his normal vet on Monday and there's a very strong possibility he may need emergency surgery to remove the stones from his bladder since this is his second near miss with a blockage in a month.

If it comes to surgery, we aren't certain what we'll do. After nearly a month in and out of the vet, we're just about at our limit. We urgently need help. Jonah could live a perfectly healthy life on his prescription diet, but we may not have the time it would take for it to treat his existing stones.

I wish I didn't have to lean on outside help once again - especially so soon after my last call for help. But it seems Jonah's a bit of a lemon of a dog. Right when one thing is fixed, another goes wrong. We aren't ready to give up on him yet, but he's certainly making things challenging through no fault of his own.

It's another one of those seireitei women's and men's association shenanigans. They got together to prepare a human event for the shinigami to experience; Ichigo and company are 'guests of honor', as they helped majorly, giving them pointers on this human celebration. It's become a bigger thing that expected, even some frienldy hollows are invited. Everyone's on gigais and divided into teams, and whoever finds more eggs wins, but, naturally, it's a big fucking mess. Everyone wants to win and the eggs are practically made of reiatsu so everyone's using their own spiritual skills and abilities to find them. Rukia's in big spirits, ready to prove herself as are all the others, ready to yell at Ichigo for looking like he really would rather be anywhere else but participating in this huge mess. He still sucks at sensing reiatsu anyway, and no matter how much Rukia scolds him for not training it-- Renji and herself are doing well enough without his mostly human-sighted help. He enjoys watching them go at it more. It's that overly-competitive energy that has Ichigo sneaking away into the denser treeline, ready to sit and relax by the roots of a tree where he can't be seen. He can, at the very least, keep the eggs his team have already found safe from being stolen-- because no matter how hard him and his friends explained the women and men's associations that no- fighting and stealing another teams eggs was not really part of the game, it fell on deaf ears. It's fine, they'll all tire themselves out and maybe give him a month or so of peace. Something shifts above him, an animal perhaps- but then a smug, bored voice scares the shit out of him- "hiding from your team already?" It's Grimmjow, perched on a tree branch like he weighs nothing. Like the cat he is-- Ichigo could probably see the swishing tail in his mind's eye if he focused a bit. "I'm- not hiding...," he says without much conviction, then scoffs; "you're one to talk." Grimmjow makes a face, then stretches, like Ichigo didn't catch him right back; "I ditched my loser team." "Harri and Nell will probably win," Ichigo mentioned offhandedly, watching the frown deepen in Grimm's face. "It's a stupid game anyway." What a brat. Grimmjow seems to be looking for a distraction from the current conversation, looking with interest down at him until a cheeky grin splits his face. Then practically falls on his lap, graceful as always, but still making Ichigo's heart nearly jump out his chest. "Who the fuck cares," Grimmjow purrs lower, leaning in, and Ichigo's already starting to pant, "I know what else we can do..." There's a claw tracing the collar of his shirt, following the nervous gulp down his throat; Ichigo's mind is screaming at him to be cautious. They're in public, damnit- but fuck-- he's never been able to resist Grimmjow when he gets like this. 😣💦

Please have a moment of silence for the people who were killed instead of freed when news of emancipation finally reached the furthest corners of the american south.

have another moment for the ledgers, catalogs, and records that were burned and the homes that were destroyed to hide the presence of very much alive and still enslaved people on dozens of plantations and homesteads across the south for decades after emancipation.

and have a third moment for those who were hunted and killed while fleeing the south to find safety across the border, overseas, in the north and to the west.

black people. light a candle, write a note to those who have passed telling them what you have achieved in spite of the racist and intolerant conditions of this world, feel the warmth of the flame under your hand, say a prayer of rememberance if you are religious, place the note under the candle, and then blow it out.

if you have children, sit them down and tell them anything you know about the life of oldest black person you've ever met. it doesn't have to be your own family. tell them what you know about what life was like for us in the days, years, decades after emancipation. if you don't know much, look it up and learn about it together.

I have finished an AceLaw sketch and I am proud of myself since this was my first time drawing Ace lol - ignore the lack of tattoos on Law's arm and hand, they're hard to draw, and I just remembered the Whitebeard tattoo on Ace's back - ignore that, too lol.

@aint-no-angels-son has been talking Acelaw and Zolaw nonstop, I love her ideas lol - I may be thinking of drawing the fanchild she came up with for them, maybe, I can't draw kids - just like hands. The songs that inspired this were Lucky Ones - Lana Del Rey and Past Lives - Sapientdream(s?).

They're trying to win this by swaying public opinion. That's why they're doing movie deals about it and staging ridiculous photo ops.

They're gonna try to give this kid the death penalty to cover up for their own gross incompetence and in the hopes that they scare the working class out of trying to fight back.

Please don't help them do this by using his name as a synonym for political assassinations. Please do not perpetuate the idea that he's guilty.

you cannot talk about the homophobic murder of jonathan joss without including in the conversation that he is indigenous.

american indian men are at the 2nd highest risk of death by murder compared to all other ethnic groups. in their lifetimes, 82% of native men report having experienced domestic violence. yet the overwhelming majority of perpetrators are non-natives (88% of native men and 92% of native women who reported violence said their attacker was non-native). what’s more, tribal governments are often stymied in their attempts to bring justice against non-natives, meaning that many of these cases go unresolved.

this was an intersectional attack. the fact that he is indigenous matters, even if the motivation was homophobic, because it made him even more vulnerable and disposable in the eyes of his killer.
