Trigg Beach - Perth, Western Australia
There were a few tasty peaks rolling through Trigg early last week....... way better than normal a frothing local pointed out to me!
For me it was one last salty swim before returning to the desert - god the ocean is amazing.

Fluid Dynamics
I was shooting an amazing sunset in amidst crazy thunderstorms here in the Pilbara last Autumn. The atmosphere was literally alive and I was going to and fro like the proverbial Australian blue arsed fly trying to capture some lightning when this amazing sunset appeared out of nowhere - nothing there one minute and then bang! Something special was on the cards! As I was setting up for the sunset shot I noticed this tiny pink cloud starting to form off to the south. I watched for 30 or so seconds as it begin morphing into something larger and quite amazing.......... righto better get a shot of that too! So after rushing a couple of shots of the sunset I swung round and tried to setup for the crazy pink voodoo cloud growing and expanding to the south. Stuffing round with filters and exposure. Framing went right out the window just in the hope that I could nail a shot....... and then it started bloody raining - which shouldn’t come as a surprise in a thunderstorm but then I do live in hope (or a fantasy land).
Anyway get the gear in the car and try not to get struck by lighting whilst Zeus gets his party on. Check the shots and realise that I’d been playing with the focus settings on my camera earlier in the day so that it would function in a water housing and hadn’t changed the settings back over before coming out to chase storms........... net result not a single in focus image! You bloody ripper! I was so flustered with the craziness going on overhead that I didn’t slow down and check the focus on my images after shooting. Muppet.
Anyway, despite not coming away with the quality I desire in a shot I thought I’d post the sunset and the crazy pink voodoo cloud because the whole thing was unf@#cking believable! The images in the GIF were shot over a period of 90 seconds so it gives you an idea of how fast everything was moving.
Next time...... gear check before hitting the road OR quit getting flustered when it starts to get exciting OR leave the camera in the car and lie face up and scream at the amazing universe!

Black Headed Python - Pilbara, Western Australia
Came across a Black Headed Python crossing the road a while back. Naturally I followed it into the bush and harassed it with a camera for awhile.....
