I just got to the end of chapter 5 in HtN and realized that not only is the audiobook for this series absolutely fantastic, but required listening.

I adore listening to the audiobooks of Howl’s Moving Castle when the narrator uses a Welsh accent for him. It’s the closest I can get to a correct version of him seeing as the film did him so dirty.

Looking for advice on audiobooks

What do you do when listening to audiobooks? My main concern that I'm wanting to avoid is getting caught up in the activity and losing track of the story, which is what sometimes happens when I'm listening to a podcast while doing chores.

I have pretty much exclusively read books, either physical or e-books. There's a few books that I want to read that are outside my budget to buy, and only available as audiobooks on library apps or Spotify Premium.

I define reading as taking in a story, that means visualizing the story and using imagination just like you would if you had a book in front of you

Here’s my take on the whole audio books vs. reading:

Oral tradition of storytelling predates written ones by millennias, and honestly, which one you like is just a personal preference.

The actual difference is

when listening, you have no idea how to write characters’ names

when reading, you have no idea how to pronounce characters’ names
