We were honored to have the who's who of Hollywood become light artists. With the help of our Light Painting System, they were able to draw signatures and messages with light to share them with the world. To make the clips special, it was most important that the award winners had a lot of fun while painting with light. We specially developed a new light painting software for the Oscars that records both the person and the light painting in real time in 4K resolution. We are super happy with the final and it was a great experience to be backstage at the Oscars and work with all these talented talents. Special thanks to the whole team and Academy Awards for inviting us.

We did some testings with our new battery powered full HD projector. It runs for hours and the brightness is good enough to have some serious mapping fun. We did this little mapping with the mighty oldy but goldy Tagtool. It’s the head of the Holly St. Gereon in Cologne.

Now almost 14 years later we did a homage to this clip that started it all, with almost the same team: video by Lichtfaktor and Audio by The Green Man (basswerk).

The story continues and you could be part of the art!

In 2016 at the Light Painting World Alliance Meeting in Oviedo (Spain) a huge amount of professional and passionated light painters from around the world meet the first time in person, later that year we meet again on the other side of the planet in Long Hu Shan (China) where we had an incredible time. After all that years we keep in contact, shared our thoughts and developed our skills and now in this dark times we stand up to give you some light, love and fun as #unitedbylight We all have to go through allot of changes and worries in these times, but we are not alone, we are all connected and this gives us hope.

Here how it works: We want to post every week a new episode by another Light Painting Artist/Crew. There can be connections between the episodes, so the story involves by each episode. We want you for "United by Light"! Make your own episode, all you have to do is contact us.
