Women, the source of our existence!
As I woke up in the morning, all my social media feeds were flodded with greetings on international women's day. Although I am very fond of such messages but as I was responding to them my doorbell rings and I find my very loving household help standing right there sharp at 7 am and this was the moment that made me think did anyone wish her today? Does she know the importance of the day today? Did she receive any flowers or did anyone tell her the importance she hold in their lives? Believe me more than 85% of working women in India are dependant on these help which go unnoticed on such special day.
We are so engrossed celebrating our own self that we miss such women in our lives who have made our existence simpler. And most importantly why do we dedicate just a day for the most fierceful and strong species ever created by God. Why is that our society considers only that working section of females as strong women? What about the ones who are equally qualified yet have taken a back seat owing to their priorities. Why do we make them feel so unwanted that they start questioning their own capabilities? Rather, in my point of view such women are the most strong who knew what they wanted and made decisions as per the circumstantial demands in their lives. Why can't we just look back and salute to the ones who decided to sit for a while rather running the rat race.
Women must not be confined to the celebration of their existence just one day infact they need to be loved every day. She needs to be told her worth in our lives every hour. She needs to be celebrated every minute for whoever she is and whatever she does. She may be a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a colleague, any random lady crossing street or your help in the house. She needs to be treated with care and with dignity not because she is a women and is fragile but because she is a human and you a compassionate soul.
Next year onwards, don't just wait for 8th March to arrive and send her flowers but tell her how worthy she is any random day when she needs to hear the most.

Poem on my parent's 50th anniversary!

Strength, thy name is you!!
———————————————————-
When my days were filled with stars you held me tight, right from the start
Nothing amazes me more than your will and twinkling eyes with a radiant spark
Amidst the chaos, we spared moments to talk, to think and to radiate
For you taught me well how to smile
Despite the world seemed to go upside-down while it was tearing apart
You were there always in my heart as my strongest will to never fall apart !!!

Thoughts!!
Someday under the tree
I would sit thinking free
The days I spared during those beautiful summers
Like none other than my fear
Just as the tree has, a thousands leaves with different shades,
So are my thoughts, scattered and bewildered
But they are here to stay, deep rooted and strong
Just as the wind blows by and tress sway
I’ll push my thoughts along the way!

The aroma of fresh mornings.
Nothing in life can be more satisfying than waking up to the sounds of chirping birds in the balcony of your home. The little nest of your dreams. The mild fragrance of brewing tea and the sound of swaying trees. This is an incomparable peace that anyone is ever gifted with. Mornings of each day comes with so much peace, the deserted roads that would be gradually jammed with vehicles as the day takes its shape. But those jams also have their stories to tell. To tell us that life is still happening.

“Master the art of filteration to conquer your inner peace!”
Many of us struggle with variety of problems that we actually do not own but is brought into our lives through various social media channels. Sometimes, we get so much carried away by certain post/ news that we start doubting our own intellect and ability to think. The use of social media has undoubtedly made our lives easier but on the other hand has also made it a little difficult too, as we do not know what or which news/content should be absorbed and which needs to be just ignored. Reading and reacting on everything somehwere down the line takes away our inner peace that can be well-handled by following certain rules or tips for that matter.
Do not react to every post/news: Remember not every post pinned is for you. Know your self, your surroundings and accordingly filter the content that you come across on any social media platform. Read and react to what really interests you. To be specific, you don want to know about everything, do you?
Don’t consider yourself to be the target: I have come across a lot of banters over various social media platforms where people react to certain post thinking that they have been targetted. Remember, all of us have rights to put forth our view points.
Put yourself into other’s shoes: Always try to guage the other person’s perspective. Not every one’s situation can be the same as yours. The moment we put put ourselves into other’s place, we can understand their point of view very well.
Know the difference between being aware and being impacted: Being aware to issues around the world is a good sign but getting impacted or influenced by it negatively is not good.
Engage in constructive and healthy two-way discussions: It is highly important to know each other’s view point. Engaging in a healthy conversation gives new dimension to your thoughts. Ensure the conversation is friendly and constructive where you are feeding your brain something worth. Otherwise, getting into it might just be a sheer waste of time and energy, ofcourse.
Cross-verify the source: Make sure any news that you come across the platform is cross verfied. There might be a lot of fake news doing rounds and you just do not know whether to believe it or not. Check the source once.
Social media is for a larger group of audience and we are just a small part of it. We can really benefit from this only if we know the right way to use it. Abiding by social media etiquettes and maintaing decorum hence becomes highly essential.

How pretty you are !!!
The transformation of women through different phases of her life speaks tons about the strength, gravity and perseverance of the species. She dons multiple hats and yet comes across as a winner balancing various facets of her life.
The character of the species remains the same across the world. However, it might slightly vary because of the upbringing in changed cross cultural environment, otherwise the basic instincts remains the same. She has a beautiful heart to nuture a life, give love to family and be a friend to everyone at her workplace. Despite, she might become the centre of attraction for all the wrong reasons.
Every women’s life is different from other and it costs nothing to stop by for a moment and tell them “ hey, how pretty you are”!!!
(Dedicated to all beautiful females who work tirelessly on their toes managing home and work across the world)

Is your kid a fussy eater?
The very one thing that all the moms struggle is to make their kid eat nutritious food. This particular job is such a big task for every mom out there. Sometimes the kids would just not want to eat the veggies, sometimes they would leave half-empty plates. Too much of nagging makes them grumpy, not willing to eat whatever is served on the platter and at times they might show a bit of tantrums too.
Catch them young: Yes! that’s the key! It is very necessary to inculcate good eating habits in the child right from day 1. Start with solids and try to give them a taste of everything. From orange juice, carrort and beetroot pulp to mashed vegetable soup. It will help in building up their taste.
Serve them what you eat: With my personal experience, I have noticed as soon as the children enter the toddler stage, they are very much interested in peeking upon their mum’s plate. And if their plate is served with healthier options and the mum has junk on her plate, believe me, they will get to know. It might be a little tough on the mother’s part but yes, mom ought to have healthier options included on her plate as well.
Take atleast one meal together: In today’s life, when all of us are so busy with our lives, we must take out time to atleast have one meal togther as a family. Talk to the kid during this time, serve the food on the table happily and if the kid is more than 7 years of age ask them to help you setting up the table. Sit together and explain the importance of food to them. Enjoy a hearty happy meal together. And do not expect them to eat what you don’t eat.
Do not compare: Never compare your child with anyone else. This might just turn them off and they might just not trust you any further. Kid’s anyways do not like to be compared. And an outright comparison is a big no no.
Keep altering the menu: Think of serving their plate with nutritious but interesting options. You may try a new receipe, cut veggies and salad in a new style, variation in preparations can be tried! The internet is flooded with simple options just explore and give new dimesion to your kid’s plate.
Cheat treats: Make sure you add cheat treats in your schedule planned for the kid. Banning them from the sweets, chocolates etc might lead them to ask their friends and others for it. So ensure taking them out for little treats. Explain them “excess of anything is bad”. They shall remember it for the rest of their life.

The Three R’s of Life!
Ever wondered why few people are not that pally with their own lives? They are always complaining no matter how favorable a situation may be. Always comparing your life with others might also put you in soup because you are really not in the other person’s shoes and grass might always look greener and brighter on the other side. Well, for me life is nothing but a roller-coaster ride. Sometimes you are in your lows, and on the other hand you might all of a sudden go right up, touching the sky. This is the phase of the roller-coaster of life when you are achieving everything and you might feel you were always destined for such awesome reward from god. Your friends and family are on your side and you would dread of the coaster coming down for you. But believe me, I have never met a single person ever in my life, who denies of not going low. That is the actual moment one should never let their guard down and always believe in themselves. If the roller-coaster in your life ever comes down for you believe in three R’s of life.
Roles: Always be willing to accept whatever role your life assigns you to play. Welcome the change willingly and happily without getting demotivated and disheartened because every cloud has a silver lining.
Responsibilities: Never shy away to shed off a few of your responsibilities to the ones you belive in and are confident they can carry out well on your behalf. By doing this, you might be able to foucs on the solutions of your problems. Remember, allocating the resposibility is far easy than to run away from it. Not only it would ease the burden but you will also get some peace as well.
Relationships: This is the most important factor to keep in mind whenever you are feeling low or not so good. Never ever should you let your relationships with other suffer. Always keep your family, friends and confidants close by. It is very important to have somebody you can share your secrets and problem with. Venting and talking it out to the right person is half the problem solved.
There is no problem in the world that can not be handled if only you want to. If today the coaster of your life is touching the ground, just keep your buckles tight and close your eyes, it would certainly take you in the skies again.

Life during Covid 19 pandemic!!
Somewhere in the mid March, life was as usual speeding at its pace untill we heard the country was going on a lockdown for an indefinite time due to covid 19, which was gripping the rest of the world in its paws, and our country was no different. We really had no plans to deal with the situation. In a blink of an eye, our world like rest of the other families was turned upside down. The school, which was yet to take its annual exam, was shut down and the offices had asked the employees to WFH till any further notice. Having stayed in the US and the UK, I was quite used to of managing my household chores without any domestic help and as I always mention and say that the domestic help available in India is a luxury to many household. But as soon as the lockdown was announced all the activities that were centered around my kid came to a halt. The only challenge ahead of me was to keep her stay-at-home, without any cribbing and hence to manage the time and the activities around her running so as to keep her both engaged as well as productive. As a parent, I knew this situation might take its own time to settle and I might have to change certain things around us to make the new normal work efficiently.
1) Making the child aware of the situation
The first thing to do in the process was to acquaint the child with Covid 19. I told her everything about the disease, how it spreads and the ways/measures we can follow to avoid getting infected. I also encouraged her to talk to her group of friends and make them aware about the need for social-distancing.
2)Revising the basic hygiene concepts
Hygiene is the most vital step to teach children right from the start. Like any other parents, we also have been teaching/guiding her to follow hygienic routine. But now it was the time for us to actually sit with her and revise the basic routine things like washing hand, keeping the tissue at disposal, binning the trash properly, etc.
3)Inculcating and encouraging the creative skills
I personally believe that it is very important to hone the right set of creative skills in the child. Every child is blessed with certain creative skills such as painting, crafting, music, reading, writing etc all we need to do is to recongnize it and encourage the child to pursue it with passion. In this very time of situation, when we were not allowed to step out, such creative activities were a life saviour.
In the three and a half months of time, we did a lot of creative stuff together like painting, baking, art together. Now that the lockdown is lifted and we are paving our way through the life amidst Covid, we seem to have come a long way. Now certain things like wearing a mask, and following social distancing does not bother us anymore.

Starry Night!
Starry night looking so bright
Sitting quiet was a girl in dim light
Thinking of the wonders she could have done
Only if there was some light
But little did she realize it was a starry night.

Jingle Bells!!!
If you have ever visited Newyork in the US and have spent some time living in the city, you would know that the place not only captivates your soul through its vibrancy but also holds upon its culture very firmly. The christmas time is one of those beautiful times in the city, which both is vibrant and reflects the culture very vividly. Right from plethora of gourmet food options to the city lights, you would just be amazed to see the big apple celebrating the season of holidays and love in its own unique and special ways. Not to forget, one of the biggest attractions of celebrating christmas in NYC is the Rockefellar Centre Christmas Tree and 5th Avenue Holiday Window Display, which has become a timeless tradition for both the newyorkers as well as tourists.
