one thing i need to start living by is “become the thing that you want” if i want friends who throw themed parties maybe i should start throwing those parties. if i want someone who writes me love letters maybe i should start writing letters for the people i love. if i want to hang out at museums and pretty cafes maybe i should invite my friends to these places. and maybe even then i won’t find the kind of people i want to be around. but then i would have become the exact person i want to be around. and maybe that’s good enough.

Happy Wednesday y’all!! I’m reading my mythology book again after a brief pause (where I read mythology retellings) and it’s been super fun and interesting! I’m almost finished with it, which is a bit sad, but I’m proud of myself too bcs it’s a huge book. I’ve read abt the Trojan War so many times through different books that it lowkey feels like I was there, haha. I always learn new and extra information though so it’s alright! Btw, I bought this bookmark a few months ago and I’m beyond obsessed with it. I have so much Patrochilles merch and I have no regrets. As for other updates, there’s not much; I’ve been watching more college vlogs, thinking a bit abt the new year and my goals, and just taking each day as it goes. I’ve been very busy with work and have been feeling a bit uninspired for posting. However, I have been a bit unwell recently (nothing serious, just a cold) and found coming on here to be relaxing and motivating. It reminded me how much I liked posting on here and how I may have been letting my job take over my life a bit. I’m hoping to change this in the new year so I have a good mix of work and time for myself.

(30/03/2021) We’ve been preparing book boxes between me and my friends since we can’t meet up because of the pandemic and our box has reached our friend in the Mediterranean region!!

Hey y’all! Who else cannot believe that it’s literally April tomorrow like what? Where did March even go? In honor of finishing my first ever Italian workbook, here’s a glimpse of the activities I did! The book was set up in a way where it included dialogues, language notes (about grammar, conjugations, or cultural things related to the lesson), and activities for each subtopics within the lesson. I usually did the activities then, once I was completely done with the lesson, I’d look at the answer key on the back and check my answers with a red pen! I felt so professional tbh. The workbook definitely helped me be more confident with Italian and I’ve certainly made lots of progress! 

In terms of life updates, my family’s on Spring Break this week so I’ve just been spending time with them, I’m quite close to finishing my Roman Emperors book (I was very shook yesterday bcs I learned that Diadumenian, Macrinus’s son, was only nine when he met his tragic fate and didn’t get to live out his life), Falcon & The Winter Soldier has been keeping me busy every week, and I’ve also been reflecting on the fact that my gap year is ending very soon. Big changes are happening and, tbh, it’s a little nerve-wracking, but I know that it’s inevitable and I’ll find myself where I’m meant to be in the end. I hope this week has been lovely to y’all!! Remember to spend some time out in nature and relax your mind and soul!! 🤍✨

it’s the full moon night, the kitchen is dimly lit by the moonlight shining through the small window. you two sit in silence, the same way you did in the beginning of your meeting. you look at them, adoring the little details on their face, watching how their eyes look different in the moonlight. the sound of soft music coming from your neighbor’s vinyl player in the background breaks the silence. they look at you and realize you were already staring. you can’t help but blush a little as the other laughs. they hold your hand and rub their thumb in the center of your palm. it exactly feels like when the summer breeze tickles your skin. you ask them the question that have been on your mind for a while, “do you want to be free of any attachment to this world?’’ in reply they say, “are you still attached to me?’’ you may not know how it feels to be in love, but you have fallen deep for them. you are deeply, madly truly attached to each other. you look at each other with only love in your eyes. you feel a sense of peace.

A berry-heavy French 75 tonight while I cook dinner. And my textbook finally came in the mail! It's to help study for comprehensive exams (which I'm dreading) but I think it'll be VERY useful beyond that as I move forward in my career.

Spent a long time journaling outside today, which was really satisfying.

Now I’m in the library working on my thesis, but these other girls in the study room keep talking and taking off their masks to eat gummy bears which they’re chewing so loudly I can hear from 10 ft away 😡
