YES!! SUPINATION AND PRONATION!!! Basically the rotational movements of the forearm :D

Strap in for a bit of an anatomy lesson, I'm going all out and nobody can stop me. (I'm adding a "keep reading" section though, in case you don't want to read all that lmao)

Supination is when your palm is turned upwards; pronation is when your palm is turned downwards. It's during pronation that your arm bones (the radius and ulna) cross—or rather, it is the radius that rotates around the ulna.

Specifics under the cut-

Here are just some of the parts of the body involved in this process:

Radius: the thicker and shorter bone of the forearm; runs along the outside of the elbow, down to the thumb side of the wrist

Ulna: the thinner and longer bone; runs along the inside of the elbow, down to the side of the smallest finger

Proximal radioulnar joint: located just below the elbow; connects the head of the radius and the ulna's radial notch

Distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ): located near the wrist; connects the head of the ulna and the radius' ulnar notch

Annular ligament: tough, fibrous band of tissue that surrounds the head of the radius, holding it against the ulna's radial notch; stabilizes elbow joint

Anterior and posterior radioulnar ligaments: located at the DRUJ, attached to the head of the ulna; runs along the front (anterior) and back (posterior) of the radius' ulnar notch

Triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC): made up of ligaments, tendons, and cartilage; triangular-shaped plate that lies between and connects the radius, ulna, and carpal (wrist) bones; stabilizes wrist joint

How supination and pronation work is that, as we rotate our forearm, the radius pivots around the ulna at the radioulnar joints (both of them). At the proximal joint, the head of the radius is disc-shaped, allowing for wheel-like rotation; at the distal joint, the radius' ulnar notch pivots around the head of the ulna. During this, the annular ligament prevents the radial head from dislocating, while the anterior and posterior radioulnar ligaments and the TFCC work together to stabilize the DRUJ.

Obviously this isn't everything, these are just the basics (I didn't even get to the muscles! and some other connective tissues!), but this was really fun to answer and talk about. (Hopefully I didn't jumpscare anyone with this LMAO) Thank you for the ask, anon :D

Hello, hello, and welcome to my blog!

First things first: THIS IS NOT A ROLEPLAY BLOG!! I am fictionkin/deitykin. This means I am who I say I am, and I am not “pretending” or roleplaying a character. Simply put, I am Apollo, and actually Apollo.

Given my identity, I feel it important to establish that I am NOT this universe’s Apollon. (Rather, I am from the Riordanverse, though heavily canon divergent.) I am a practicing Hellenic polytheist and wouldn’t dare to claim I am him, for we are separate and I am currently and truly mortal. Memories are all I have. That is all.

If me being Apollo still genuinely bothers you in any way, feel free to leave and block if needed /gen.

Now that the important stuff is out of the way, onward with the intro!

Aside from Apollo, I am also known by other names—Apollon, Apaliunas, my various epithets. You may call me by any of these, I don’t mind (though I may jump for joy if you’re a Hittite and you call me Apaliunas /lh /gen).

If you see people calling me by other names entirely unrelated to anything Apollo, that’s because they know me. Hyacinthus may call me Odis or Odysseus, for example (I am also an Odysseus fictionkin, for context). Only he and everyone else who know me are allowed to call me those—you guys already know who you are <3

I am an adult, and I use any pronouns.

My husband (!!!!!), Hyacinthus, is @sunlit-garden2 <3 I love him dearly.

Little extra things about me (no I am not putting these under the cut, are you kidding? /lh):
