Being a nurse with type 1 diabetes is weird sometimes.

Getting a 3.8mmol/L (88mg/dl) reading on an admission - had their mealtime insulin but almost nothing to eat. Rushing to get them some sugar! Meanwhile my BSL is hanging out at 2.7mmol/L (68mg/dl) because I couldn’t finish my lunch.

Then hanging out with this patient, both of us enjoying some fast acting carbs!
