I have finally got past the tutorial! Umamusume is running much better now that I’m home and have made a lot of storage space.

I am figuring out portions, I think I got some but not others.

I was, uh, not expecting the Umamusume community to be so helpful/welcoming??? Idk? I’ve just had bad experiences with other fandoms/games.

Some of the terms I don’t understand just yet, but that’s ok. No one’s expecting me to know much just yet, and I’ll learn along the way.

It’s having trouble running for me rn, I just got past the very first race where Special Week won. After you talk to the secretary. Tazuna or something?

I learned about a lot of the irl horses beforehand, and the races. The resemblances in aspects are pretty cool!

I feel like I will have a bit of trouble, but read above. Plus, people have been super helpful! @bakubakusaku even supplied a whole Google doc?? Again, everyone was super helpful, but what was probably the most helpful of all was the beginner’s checklist, man.

dear experienced pagans:

I know it can get annoying to see beginners asking the same questions over and over, but please consider this. most religious people are born into their religion, with parents and a community to bring their questions to, when they're still children. the vast majority of pagans do not have that luxury. it is our responsibility, as a community, to show compassion and understanding, and to answer their questions, or point them in the direction of someone who can. to give them sources and materials and encourage them to study on their own. each person doesn't have to respond to the same question, but if you see a post that's gone unanswered for a few hours or a few days, maybe consider helping that person instead of mocking them. if you want to build a stronger community, it HAS to start with building each other up and welcoming each other. we can't form any kind of community when newcomers are ridiculed for their questions.

I was back at the barn yesterday and worked again! One of the people I work with rents(?) half of the barn and takes in OTTBs, and sells them.

There was a bay mare I absolutely fell in love with at first sight, I was in there for like an hour just grooming her-

Yesterday I found out she got sold, I didn’t even get to say goodbye 💔 Like damn, I knew that was gonna happen, but OUCH!!!

I’ll ask next time where she went. I know one of them she sold is gonna be a lesson horse. Maybe that’s what happened to my girl Mulberry?

At least the very first horse I rode completely on my own, Snooki, is still there! Such a sweet chestnut mare lol. Fat and lazy tho, how tf is/was she a barrel racer 💀

Next year, if I’m still working/helping out there, there will be foals from the owner… her mares are so pretty! Especially the mother of the little cremello I posted.
