did you know they say calculus is the language of God. did you know they tried to hold math up to infinity like a candle to the void. did you know statisticians plunged into the vastness of random chance and picked out patterns and equations and eight hundred ways to tell you how big your inevitable errors are and how far off those guesses at errors might be. math haters I can't sit with you anymore. human innovation is cradled in these ancient, methodical, desperate attempts at understanding what we are not designed to understand

Honestly, y'all, I'm begging you. Take the time to think and learn for yourself. Even if it's just something casual like knitting or cooking. Exercise your brain. It's important.

One thing I love about studying math is that when you ask any fellow student or prof why they went into math we all say it’s because we find it beautiful. It’s so diametrically opposed to the opinion that everyone else has about math that it feels like some kind of virus that infects you and makes you unable to study anything else

This is the heartbreaking reality of Sami and his engineering graduate brothers… young men whose dreams were shattered under the rubble of war. Imagine a young man who lost everything: his university, his friends, his home, and now he’s hungry under a tent. If this was your brother or friend, what would you do? Answer truthfully to earn goodness. Would you remain silent? Or would you help him? Would you say: I will donate now and consider him my friend who asked for my help?
