This is Matt. That one character that nobody likes.

He’s actually very underappreciated, and it’s kind of saddening that people don’t like him so much. He’s meant to be represented as callous and vain, but he seems so sad at times.

Even Edd tires of him a lot, and Tom just flat out is horrible to him. He seems so happy that Tord returns, mostly just because Tord is so nice to him at the start of The End.

Pay attention to him. He’s sad a lot, and in Space Face, when he makes clones, one says ‘I tolerate your existence!’. Tell me that’s not even slightly sad.

So please, celebrate Mattuary next year and try to change your perception of him!

I knew this, but wish Matt was more liked. He was my favourite character, and not to mention ADORABLE. It’s really sad they all hate him.

PROTECT AND LIKE THE MATT CHILD, PEOPLE.

Can we talk about Matt for a minute?

Look at how little other people like him. The point of the photo with the bar graph was to emphasise his vanity here but I don’t think he’s vain in any way.

Matt isn’t liked by most people. Even Edd has trouble putting up with his ‘vanity’ sometimes and Tom flat out verbally abuses him.

BUT! In Fun Dead he immediately upon realising he could die donates all of his most priced possessions to Tom. He wants Tom to like him. He wants everyone to like him as much as he likes himself. He’s been shown to be HEARTBROKEN when people don’t like him.

Matt wants to be loved more than anything else in the world but people don’t seem to give him enough he loves himself.

But in Space Face we see Matt standing in the desire room conjuring up so many clones of himself it probably filled the room. You know what one of them says? “I CAN TOLERATE YOUR EXISTENCE”

Matt wants to be loved. More than anything in the world. He just wants to be loved. And… No one seems to love him as much as himself. Matt just wants to be loved man.

He’s a lonely guy and he wants people to love him.

There’s a problem. We’re all expected to compliment, but at the same time a lot of people don’t know how to take them. How do you make someone proud if they refuse to be?
