if charles dickens really didn’t want us to feel for his villians a little bit he shouldn’t have given them names Like That. like if my mother had chosen to put “wackford squeers” on my birth certificate either completely unironically or as some kind of sick joke i cannot guarantee that i wouldn’t also be running a countryside prison school for unwanted children. something to think about.
