I said, George, you know, a lot of churches and things are actually built on ancient pagan sites, so… what if we got really far down, and there was some kind of dark side of the Force area that’s so many levels below the Jedi Temple, but that’s why they built the Jedi Temple there, because they had defeated that, and years later they had built above it. So what you see there in the center is these massive pillars that are holding up everything above it, but it’s literally vertical straight down below, and inside there was this kind of giant infernal machine, it was going to have all these big gears, that were going to be… within our budget, but it was going to be amazing. But yeah we never got to do it. (x)

Okay sorry this sounds so weird but how do I have a medic explain how big another clone’s burn is? Like over coms? Thanks for your help

Medics calculate burn surface area using the “Rule of Nines.” This tool is used in the civilian world as well, and is useful in determining how much of your patient’s body fluid needs to be replaced during fluid resuscitation. It divides the patient’s body into percentages. Search “rule of nines” and you’ll get a wealth of information!

Your medic would use this percentage to communicate to other medics or medical providers the size/severity of the burn.

How could a medic act or go about (not sure how to word this sorry!) when he’s called to extract someone from a mission he wasn’t originally a part of and that someone is in a critical condition?

Moving casualties in an urban environment can be difficult and time consuming. Moving a litter patient only a few hundred yards could take an hour or more. Ground evacuation vehicles will require heavy armor that can withstand small arms fire or explosives. Air evacuation is difficult due to the tight operating environment and susceptibility to attack.

Simply finding casualties in an urban environment can be difficult. Explosions can cause buildings to crumble trapping patients inside. Vehicles can crash due to explosions, hostile fire or operator error. Events such as these may lead to complicated rescue efforts that require special equipment such as: axes, crowbars, jacks, ropes, collapsible litters and cutting tools.

Once emergency medical care has been completed on-scene, the patient must be transferred to the medical treatment facility.

A process known as packaging provides the means of properly positioning, covering, and securing the patient to avoid any unnecessary, aggravation to the patient’s condition. (Covering helps maintain the patient’s body temperature, prevents exposure to the elements, and provides privacy.)

A medic should package a badly traumatized patient; it is more important to transport the critical or unstable patient to the medical treatment facility quickly. The most important aspect of each rescue or transfer is to complete it as safely and efficiently as possible.

Stages of Extrication

-The first stage of extrication within each of the rescue phases outlined above is gaining access to the victim. Much will depend on the location of the accident, damage within the accident site, and the position of the victim. The means of gaining access must also take into account the possibility of causing further injury to the victim since force may be needed. Further injury must be minimized.

-The second stage involves giving lifesaving emergency care. If necessary, establish and maintain an open airway, start artificial respiration, and control hemorrhage.

-The third stage is disentanglement. The careful removal of debris and other impediments from the victim will prevent further injury to both the victim and the rescuer. 

-The fourth stage is preparing the victim for removal, with special emphasis on the protection of possible fractures. 

-The final stage, removing the victim from the trapped area and transporting to an ambulance or sickbay, may be as simple as helping the victim walk out of the area or as difficult as a blanket dragged out of a burning space.
