The Starcloud Spires: Home of the Skywings

Far above the clouds lies a lofty civilization of magic-wielding winged avian hybrid people simply known as the Skywings. Once lauded as a bountiful trading point in a faraway kingdom, they had adopted a policy of hermitage high above the mountains beyond the clouds after several of their people had followed a boastful ruler into battle. To assume an aerial presence in exchange for riches plentiful… who couldn’t resist! Unfortunately, they had overextended their advantage from the sky and all fell into disarray. Nobody would dare say what had followed before the remnants of their group returned. After hearing of this incident, the village moved away into a secluded mountaintop known as the Starcloud Spires, known quite well for its association with celestial magic and for being an astronomer’s dream view.

To become a Skywing is quite simple for a learned foreigner. One simply must be able to fly while utilizing two different methods. An initiate must sustain stable flight while utilizing a set of magic or organic wings as their first test, although magically-infused mechanical wings may be offered as a substitute by special request or under practice conditions. If they so chose to, a village elder could cast a special spell on the initiate to grant them the magic they needed to conjure and use their wings.

Once the initiate passes their first test, they must learn to fly by using magic derived from the sky, if not outer space itself. After all, they are a group of aerial magicians that would not dare fly too close to dangerous places. Once they pass the second test, they would approach a council of especially-powerful magicians known as the Gathered Clouds Council to become part of their village. As of late, numerous members of the Skywing community have become increasingly wary of singularities and rifts forming around their village, especially since one rift opening led to Meringue’s apprentice Lemon Meringue falling through it and into another dimension.

A cloud-faring turtle seeking knowledge, Lemon Meringue was the newest Skywing apprentice of Meringue, an avian-human hybrid and the newest cloud-riding lightning magician of the Gathered Clouds Council. Having studied under Meringue for years on end, Lemon Meringue learned the basics he had to offer in order to be a proper lightning magician… although realizations of the true extent of his powers and learning how to master and control them were not yet in the cards.

Alas, Lemon Meringue fell into a dimension of unknown depth and subconscious complexity known by many as the Lilywhite Space. It is unknown how these rifts opened, but such rifts frequently point to a mysterious city of ancient Wizards. Perhaps there, the Skywings can find an answer to their problems and uncover many more secrets to the world of magic… in the Crescent City of Wizards.

As for what befell Lemon Meringue since he was the first of them who fell into the rift, he’s been trying to make the best of it for himself in this new world. He even made a new friend and a second name for himself: Lemon-Lime Meringue Cookie.

The Raven’s Den: Finding Your Way In Lilywhite Space

You fell through a portal that appeared in your hometown, and that was the last thing you remember. As you pick yourself up, you find yourself in a modest inn the locals call the Raven’s Den. Possibly the only inn for miles around besides the rest of the capital town of the Lost Vanilla Region in what has been called the Lilywhite Space, you hesitantly approach the front desk and the hooded figure operating it to inquire about a room. Surprisingly enough, the receptionist was quite kind despite being a mage that clearly specialized in black magic.

They even gave you a map of Earthbread and the Observatorium in the Lilywhite Space dimension with a complimentary raisin bun and some pamphlets about the inn’s history and the Ravens of Lilywhite: a primarily adventurer’s guild that was founded by an Ancient Hero and the descendant sorcerer of the Keeper of a faraway Sugar Glass Greenhouse. The guild’s main goal? Scout out other dimensions to find the missing shards of White Lily Cookie’s soul and the fragments of a mystical pocket watch that could control time itself.

Of course, seeing as the pocket watch in question is a powerful relic that can control time, the Time Balance Department has chosen to lend support to the guild to recover the missing pieces. Unfortunately, these fragments are also sought after by countless opposing factions, and so the guild will often have to collaborate with the locals within these other dimensions to stop these opposing groups from utilizing the Time Fragments and Soulstones for the worse. Turning the guild’s pamphlet over, you see the guild’s magic rune stamped in purple ink while a message appears on the paper before you. This is where your story in learning about the Lilyverse begins, but perhaps you’ll learn more about your role here yet… as no one side can… nor will… tell the whole story. Only by piecing everything together can one discover what truly lies beneath the surface of this world and eventually find themselves within it.
