International women's day is coming up soon....and I'm so fucking angry about it.

It's a farce of a day.

Men take the day to post photos of their wives/sisters/mothers/daughters before going straight back to watching videos of trafficked women and girls being raped online (pornhub).

Before going back to toxic chat groups and sharing their most normalised and vile thoughts on women with one another, or asking for tips on how to sedate and rape them (telegram).

Before going back to their jobs where women are usually paid less than them for the same work, and talking about how difficult and bossy 'Karen' is for having the backbone to set her own boundaries and not laugh at their unfunny jokes.

Unless you're posting a receipt of money you've donated to a women's organisation, I don't want to fucking hear it.

I don't want to see your pictures of your exhausted wife who does all the house work after coming home from her job, I don't want to see photos of your daughter that you're already talking over and down to in comparison to your sons.

Hold your gross fucking friends accountable for the vitriol they spread or sit down and shut up.

I just want to be a mushroom. I'm sick and tired of being a grownup who has to fill in forms, make sure to meet dead lines and pay to fucking exist and breathe and not freeze to death.

I want to be a toadstool at the base of a giant oak tree near a small stream or river.

I can watch the deer as they come and drink in the morning, listen to the birds sing, and be mashed up and applied as woad to the face of some Scottish warrior before he goes into battle and kills a load of English people.

I have grown obsessed recently with the smell of wooden rooms and old paper books.

Wooden Cupboards, closets, stockrooms, just smell incredible; nothing makes me more content then to just stand in those places in silence and take long inhalations.

I stopped reading a book mid story just to smell the pages. Glorious.
